    "Vents are gonna fall out, wood grain gonna fall off?" Not so. I own a 2014 XTS Platinum. It is exquisite & in pristine condition & still turns heads nearly a decade later. No wear & tear on seats either, not even drivers. I traded a BMW 5 series for the XTS & the XTS is far superior. XTSs interior made Ward's Automotive 10 Best Interiors list (2013). Absent from that list was Mercedes & BMW.
    Also own a 1989 Cadillac Allante. Still on the road today. Anything will last if you take care of it. And as a former XJ owner as well, I won't buy European/foreign again. Cadillac is still the standard.

      GM products are frequently lackluster. There's a reason their products have lower resale values and rate lower in quality, durability and longevity than their Japanese counterparts.

    I own an XTS and nothing he says sounds remotely familiar. He is simply talking out of his ass. Nothing in the interior simply falls off or even makes a noise while driving for that matter. The only issue i have had while owning this car for one year is the HID headlamp burning out prematurely, but is that really a Cadillac flaw? Big deal, I bought a new headlamp bulb for $60 and replaced it myself in about 15 minutes. Nothing is outdated and what is he comparing its so-called outdated-ness too? The dude just doesn't know a hell of a lot about automotive trends and lacks relevance. I believe somebody needs to review him - now there's outdated for you.

  • @UnitedRecording
    @UnitedRecording 7 ปีที่แล้ว +39

    No offense, but I have no idea what point you're trying to make. This car is top notch - nothing is going to start falling off. LOL. I have a Cadillac that's 320k miles and it doesn't even squeak, certainly doesn't fall apart. CUE is not outdated whatsoever, and neither is the 12.3 inch instrument cluster on the upper trims, or the fastest state of the art Magnetic Ride Control (which GM invented by the way.) And of course only one wheel was spinning in the mud - the car knew that the left wheel in particular had more traction (open dif). Oh, and I'm not even close to being elderly... I'm 18.

    Theyre ok for luxury items. But when you have to work on it, thats a different story. Expensive to maintain and repair, especially with the fancy suspension option. The GM 3.6 engine is well known for chucking its timing chain components as well.
    Stay gold.

  • @nfox8383
    @nfox8383 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I have a 2014 XTS4 that I just bought a few months ago, the logo is the only difference... It is beige or "gold" as some people call it, and it looks silver at night, everyone loves it. Also, I'm 33, and I think the car's body is sharp.. All the parts inside, vents, cup holders, glove box, everything fits in TIGHT, like it belongs there... it will not fall apart! LoL The suspension is the magnetic suspension, one of the best around, so it corners like a bastard with that and the AWD. My 2012 impala with the same engine was faster because it was lighter, but this thing is not sluggish, maybe because of the AWD. Also, if you put the shift all the way down, that is sport mode, then when you use the paddles to shift (which is very much like a manual simulation) it because "M" or manual mode.

    I have a 2017 XTS luxury and it’s been my favorite car. The only issue I’ve had was some kind of fuel vapor sensor going out but it wasn’t expensive to repair. I especially like taking highway trips which I think is where this car shines with most of the engine power on the back end for passing. The cabin is really quiet and well insulated and I have just short of 80,000 miles. I really think they took extra pride making this car in Canada. There’s plenty of us older guys out there who love the styling of the car and the way it drives. I really think it would last another 80,000 miles if I keep it that long. I’m actually kind of upset Cadillac stopped making these larger cars as I would have stayed a customer.

    I hate to pile on, but I have to agree with the majority of people responding on this thread, and disliking this video. This review was fairly awful and unobjective.
    I've owned my 2013 XTS Premium, with the same Silver Coast Metallic exterior color for 3 years now and (your anecdotal experience aside), my car has had a fairly trouble free ownership experience over the past 48,000 miles.
    The battery was replaced last summer, and one of the proximity sensors had to be replaced in 2015, but aside from those warranty covered repairs, I haven't had ANY problems with parts falling off or noticed any instances of poor quality as you suggest will occur. I also never had these types of problems in the 2005 STS I drove for 70,000 miles, nor the 1999 Seville STS I drove for 90,000 miles before that.
    I agree that the 3.6 liter engine COULD be more responsive, but the turbo charged V6 wasn't available when I bought my car, perhaps you should have opted for the upgraded engine. That said, this 300HP base engine has never seemed inadequate, and has provided sufficient power during long road trips through high elevation mountains.
    If you felt the car was "behind" it's competitors, perhaps you should have opted to purchase the higher trim level Premium or Platinum model which offers even more improvement and functionality over the world class accommodations in your Luxury model.
    Also living in Michigan, sometimes heavy snowfall necessitates the need for wheel spin. When this occurs, I simply press the button on the console to deactivate the traction control, and suddenly, BOTH WHEELS SPIN !
    Like you, I also don't get why so many people assume Lexus, Audi, BMW and Mercedes offer better perceived quality.
    I suspect that MORE people might have an appreciation for US Luxury cars if people (like you) didn't feel the need to stress your negative impressions of the car you chose to buy. You rarely hear foreign car buyers denigrating their cars this way, or assuming that their bad experiences must apply to all. I wondered while watching this video why you keep buying Cadillacs, given all the problems and dissatisfaction you've experienced with the brand.
    It's unfortunate that your experience has been so dissatisfying, but I'm enjoying my XTS very much, and plan to keep it for many trouble free years to come.
    I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying your 2004 Escalade. After paying off my XTS in June, I bought a 2016 Escalade Premium model which over the the first 6,000 miles, also seems to be very high in quality. It's a great vehicle, but I don't know that I'd call it the "granddaddy" of anything.

    I love North American cars. I grew up admiring Imperials, Eldorados, Continentals, Rivieras, etc. and still like them. Having said that, I have owned several GM cars, including Cadillac. My ownership experience got progressively worse until the last one, the Cadillac, was the car from Hell. Now, on those rare occasions when there was not something wrong with the car, it was a beautiful car to drive and had every creature comfort you could want. BUT it was ALWAYS in need of repair. I still buy North American vehicles as I prefer the styling to most Japanese cars but I would be reluctant to buy another GM product. I have had good luck with Chrysler and Ford but GM has not been good to me. I still admire GM styling and wish I could trust them again but when thousands of dollars are involved it is tough to risk having your automotive heart broken again.

      Yes I know the type who hate American cars. I guarantee they either own a Toyota Corolla or an Audi or a BMW or a Mercedes. They come to America and only buy foreign. What a joke.

    Suspension is straight trash . Needs to be completely replaced every 50k miles. Cost about $4000 at the dealer $2500 at home. You fools think Americans can make cars ? Just go buy a Ford Taurus and find out

      The last generation, Ford Taurus, is basically a Volvo S80 which is a Swedish vehicle.

      I have almost 80,009 miles on mine and the suspension is in perfect shape. I have the magnetic suspension with air suspension in the back. Americans make great cars and as a matter of fact the only time I’ve ever had suspension problems is when I owned a foreign car.

      Hey Ty Screws. You're right! I have never owned any of them. I've never worked with any of the manufacturers. I don't even drive. Oh wait. Maybe I do. The TH-cam community greatly appreciates you.

      People said the same thing about Cadillac's with the Northstar engine. So I guess they are keeping the tradition of building bad cars intact.
