- My Segway GT2 ( go.mikemu.com/segwayGT) died late last year. It powered off and wouldn't power back on. The screen froze. I called Segway support and they took care of it.

This makes me wonder if water could have gotten into the area where the control board is at. The area in front of the batter is the location of the control board. But I guess we will never know. I hope you have no further issues. I am trying to figure out why Segway is selling these gt2 for $2,500 searching for reported issues from channels that are not bought out to only say good stuff about stuff.
Agree! Premium product and Premium service.
Great video! Hey can you put a link to where you bought your travel bag? Thanks.
Question. Does Segway supply a box for pick up for repair
I ordered the GT2 from the Indiegogo campaign. After much frustration I finally received my scooter yesterday. I was told the delay was due to the R&D team was improving the performance of the scooter. So you must have gotten the updated version like mine.
Grats! Finally! Well my returned unit had a bluetooth number that was in the 300s. My new one is 63. I don't know if that's related but I do appreciate your optimism. Are you enjoying your new GT?
@@MikeMu My Bluetooth number is 15. Have no clue if it’s good or bad lol. One thing I noticed is my GT2 showed up with 2.4KM on it. Yet the activation date was yesterday. I’m assuming it was ridden for a quality check. I haven’t had a chance to ride it yet as we still have so much snow on the ground. I took it for a quick rip on the sidewalk and even in eco mode holy moly does it have power. I can’t wait till the snow melts and I can really take it for a rip. My GT2 does have a rubbing noise coming from the front brake but I’m going to assume it will go away when the brakes break in. Everything else works. Haven’t charged it yet because the owners manual says charging it in cold weather can ruin the battery. Once the snow is gone I have some big trips planned for it.
@@ShaydTheDragon Hi Shayd! Hmmm, where did you see a tag with a date on it? I covered the phone holder I use in this very video at the 4:26 mark. I've tried other heftier mounts but this is the sleekest, most solid solution I've found. Peak Design Mobile Mount for motorcycles: amzn.to/3XqYwPY

did you have to keep the original empty box to ship it back ? what would happen if I dispose it and need a a warranty service ?
Best advised to keep the box, or there will be delays. The rest you will have to talk to Segway on the available options - highly dependent on where you are located. I cover my entire experience in a few videos on my channel, but I live in California.
Curious how your continued ownership of this replacement scooter has been. Would love a long-term user review.
👍
I would need to know how diy repair and maintenance would be on this scooter. I do all the work on my current 3 but this looks buttoned up a little differently. Any opinion?
They have maintenance videos available for dealers and end users to do the repairs. I think it’s great that they provide them. Also Facebook group is helpful.
@@MikeMu nice, thx
Hi Mike, would it be possible to show if possible how to install a range extender to the GT2? do you know someone who has done it in the past? I'm considering buying one for comuting but somedays i do more than 60 km between places.
I haven't pulled the trigger yet because i'm undecided between this or the dualtron city plus a range extender...
Thank you
It'd be possible of course, but many probably do not want to void any warranty for doing so though. Since the Segway is more cohesively integrated than other parties it might make more sense to get something else ( like the dualtron you mentioned ) or wait for Segway to come out with a newer version --- maybe a GT Max or something like that. Just my opinion. But if you did want to go this route, I'd get an official battery pack from Segway (they have a parts store) and then simply hook that up in parallel as a starting point. But you'd need to figure out how you want to mount the battery among other things. yeah.. I'd skip it for the Segway.
@@MikeMu thank you very much
Hey Mike. I'm trying to ship mine back too. How did you do it? They just sent me a new box lol. The machine is too heavy & impossible to box it back up because the original straps around the box that held it in place are no longer there and can't be redone.
Hey Robb. In my case, they had a local freight company handle it for me. If I recall correctly, it had heavy duty zip ties for some parts. My bet is that you are to do your best, but I would definitely call them with your case number for guidance. BTW, what’s up with yours?
@@MikeMu The freight company packaged it up for you too? This thing is MASSIVE to lift
Into the base part of the box. I don’t have the rolling bench thingy that you have lol. Nothing is wrong, I just would prefer the E110A 🛵 instead. I do food deliveries.
@@ROBB_DEEP That's my biggest gripe with electric scooters is carrying stuff. I haven't seen an E110A around to ride it. Although, if I were you, I'd get the Lectric Cargo bike instead for food deliveries. Cheaper and more functional. go.mikemu.com/lectric-cargo
@@MikeMu Thx for your suggestion.
few days ago i was driving my gt2 also when was raining (not somekind of storm :D) but it was raining nothing special now after 5 or more days i dont have any issues (still) after i watch ur video ill be bit more careful.
anyway can u share some advices to prevent situations like urs thanks in advance and
(sorry for my english) 😂
Don’t get it soaked is the key thing I hear from others that ran into issues. Mine was not in the rain, covered but rain was inside the tent. High humidity may have been the cause over an extended period of time.
@@MikeMu i understand you now thanks alote ;)
You know that “Segway” imprint on the screen protector is a sticker that comes off? Good video btw.
Yup. I have to park my GT2 outside most days - I end up just leaving everything on.
Can you get brake pads for it ?
Yes.
@@MikeMu I heard that they are not available at the moment.
@@LemonySnicket-EUC You can go third party. The pads are not proprietary. For instance: Compatible with SRAM Level T/TL/Ultimate B1; SRAM XX,X0,XXWC DB1,3,5; Avid Elixir 1/3/5/7/9/R/ER/CR/Mag. www.amazon.com/Inkesky-Compatible-Segway-Ninebot-Elixir/dp/B0CGZMDDG1?th=1
I got mines from a Product tester smh I'm so sad I want mines fixed so bad
What’s wrong with it?
@@MikeMu I'm not a technician but if I had to take an educated guess some of the connections need to be reconnected
Nice Segway I have a MAX right now! If you need a Thingiverse "Xiaomi M365 tire valve adapter" printed out in TPU let me know ill send you one. Makes taking off the air hose adapter 100% faster.
Aww thanks! I haven't had to pump many of these tires much so it doesn't bother me. Did you design those?
