When do you ever see professional classical violinists using an attached microphone in a concert hall? Never!!! At least not in a hall with decent acoustics . There are some microphones spread out and also a good violin is able to project the sound far out to the audience.

Japanese have very delicate taste to perceive and appreciate music, yet a terrible skill to play music or god forbid, perform it. It is like they are MIDI, they didnt go through machines with a limited version of their perception but an accurate one, they react like human but they feel in binary, hence the stiffness or as in this interpretation lack of nuance and delicacy that this piece requires. Barbecued swan hotdog version.
