- Sometimes the small concrete jobs aren't as easy as they should be. This should have been easy money but one problem after the next cancelled that idea. Our season is only about 1 month away and it felt good to just pour a little concrete!

I really like how Ryan keeps a cool head. I had bosses in the past that those few things that went wrong he would have been throwing tools and cussing and screaming. It's really hard to work for somebody that's like that because you're feel like you're always walking on eggshells. As always thanks for bringing us along . I'll see you in the next one

I’m just starting my own company after 35 years working for others and Ryan has helped me out so much with advice on customer relations , I’ve used his advice and it really went over well for my customers thank you him and the boys.

Easy money tip. You can use your exhaust pipe to thaw out your tools and if you have a tarp you can drape it over the back your pick up to thought out your tailgate

What if your tools get carbon monoxide poisoning though lol
My tailgate got stuck every winter til I learned a trick from a mechanic.....spray silicone on lock, catches, hinges...will not hurt paint, rubber or plastics (ABS PVC etc).

This is the first Victory video I ever saw. I just came back to it to see it again , now that I know all the characters. Thank you algorithm for putting this in my suggested last year.
You did a great job despite all the adversity! It looked great when finished, but waaay more work than it needed to be.
I found this channel as I worked as a labourer via agency, shovelling 10 ton piles per day to grade the ground floor of a manor. Massive building and no power buggies to be seen. Like a 4 foot drop into the rooms as the floating floor was removed due to a stream near by flooding underneath so the owner ended up getting concrete floors. I never got to see the concrete being poured or the finished product and was pulled to work on another site.

Awe man I feel your pain. Nothing worse than a hot load going off as your dumping it out the wheel barrel. Definitely a work out.

@@southaussiegarbo2054 it's all relative bud, to me a hot load is a big dump, if you ask a freak, a hot load is lol well something else. A dumpster fire you say?? Ya I can see that. So pretty much the whole state of the world right now is just a big nasty hot load
just my opinion but after many years of winter concrete work: with 70 to 75 degree mix, 120 degree water, you need to add 5gal once instead of 1 gal 5 times. That's another 20 minutes in the truck and now you have maybe 85 degree concrete in the truck with chloride which now is reacting faster!
yes you need to start out wet and keep adding water...started way to stiff and wheeling it. Gotta be careful with winter mixes

Good seeing the guys spooling up for the season I miss it every day. I was a heavy Equipment mechanic and crushed my spine and ripped my knee in half in 2012 in a industrial accident just had my knee replaced Nov 8th.

Top tip on a cold morning.
1 Get up ,put a full kettle on.
2 Make a coffee,drink said coffee.
3 Take the now cooled down kettle outside and pour onto your locks or key to get into your lock.
4 Access to vehicle is now secured.

Haaaaaa!!! I borrowed all my tools from the boss man when I started out! Years later, working for myself, I was ( missing tools) supplying them for the new guy's!! I used the best hand tools and they enjoyed getting them from me! It was like a little bonus for them. They had the best, and took good care of them! I think it's a good deal for everyone!!

Lucky it wasn't a big drive way, would have lost it. It's a mystery to me why concrete can't be consistent in 2022. Nice little job to get back in the swing anyway. I'm not sure if that's the end of the tour but I've enjoyed every episode. The guy's on different crews were great. I also appreciate the effort you put in to the tour. "Why concrete can't be consistent" ....... start googling concrete and then you'll realize just how many variables there are. It's amazing they can make it as consistent as they do in 2022 lol... but seriously, it's fkn hard to make consistent concrete with all the variables. But if money were no object, sure it could be a lot better, but then you would still just buy the cheap concrete from Cowboy Joe's Ready Mix cause it's cheap.
@Dr Cornelius you have no clue anything about concrete! Yes concrete comes consistently especially when you order the same way every time! Just because you read on the internet doesn't make you an expert! I guarantee you never even seen wet concrete!
I love the change of season too. Well, not so much the changing of the season itself it the difference seasons themselves. I wouldn’t want to be somewhere it’s hot or cold all year round. I love the winters here off the Great Lakes and the beautiful hot summers. Spring and fall are nice but it’s nothing but mud until the seasons settle out.

That flipping houses in the winter would be a really good idea for content as well as put food on the table 👌 but as you say will be hard with the housing market

This reminds me when it's cold down south some finishers would request 2 % in a 9 yard load or what was called hot shot the concrete with a five gallon bucket with two bags of calcium mix it up with water and the bucket would be hot to the touch and pour it in the mix in the ready mix drum the finisher better be ready to rock quickly good to watch y'all again been waiting for y'all .

Haha that expanding foam you were calling Great Stuff...it is The Right Stuff. I use it for all kinds of odd jobs. My favorite is to use it for body work on smal rusty spots on vehicles where you have to cut out a small piece of sheet metal to get rid of the rust. Fill er up with The Right Stuff, sand it down , smooth it over with bondo, sand it again. Prime and paint.
I live in Ohio so our winter is no where near as bad as yours I'm sure, but we still get a decent bite. I love winter, until the end when its trying to turn to spring and I'm itching to get back to a full work load, then I absolutely HATE winter, like the only thing I want right now is for it to be over. I'm so ready for spring. On the bright side, work is lining up super quick this year already. Hoping to have my best year so far. I think it will be a good year for all of us tradsmen

I have the same problem here in Indiana with the tailgate, hint that works, either spray WD40 or wipe vaseline where any part of the tailgate touches anything when shut

Few things.
1) if card gets declined because you don’t have money then it would say insufficient amount or something like that.
2)You should do your banking in your phone as well
3)I only use credit card and pay them off right away to take advantage of cash rewards/points/etc. Using debit doesn’t give you any advantage.

Someone once hacked my card and the instant red flag was the 2500 dollar attempts at a crash repaiere

Next time the tailgate gets frozen use an old card and run it through the seal between the tailgate and tonneau cover. Happens all the time to me. That usually works
