I'm a Christian & i love God 2. As much as i love Hillsong there music is stagnate & boring, same old pentatonic baby stuff with tons off delay. Check out Neal Morse for Christian Music thats a variation on the same old, same old.
the idea is to by easy for others to play in all the church's.. All the musicians say that is very simple and boring etc, but the people that isn't musician or want's to be one sometime love's that.. and the focus of the christian song's is to pray God, not for show. Blessings
I absolutely, flat out, disagree with you. Stagnate and boring? From where I sit, it is alive and electrifying. The music draws me closer to God, which is the point of worship, isn't it? I think there is a polite way to say things and one that is condescending and somewhat arrogant. Each person is entitled to his or her opinion, but for me, Hillsong is the absolute best worship out there. Nothing else even comes close. They keep coming up with the most amazing worship songs.
I'm a different person to you, i'm a professional guitarist, this is just popular with the alternative music lovers that have been brought to church by friends. We are all different , but this music has been the same old for years, its hardly going from glory to glory, rather just going through the motions.
Rob, I think you should make music that gets played around the world and create iconic songs that will be remembered for many years to come. Do that over 2 decades and THEN maybe you can criticize. Since you are a so called "Christian" shouldn't you be encouraging and not criticizing?
I love Neal Morse AND Hillsong....Morse appeals to the musician in me that loves progressive rock but a Hillsong tune like Desert Song is so powerful despite how simple it is. As worship leaders we have to make sure we play for God and for those we are trying to reach. The truth is that the average listener can't appreciate the complexity of a Morse tune.
