To my own research In USA, individuals living in cars due to partial homelessness result from a complex interplay of factors. High housing costs relative to income, stagnant wages, and income inequality drive this issue. Job loss, weak social support, medical expenses, evictions, and lack of affordable housing also contribute, while systemic problems and inadequate policies further perpetuate the phenomenon.

Considering the present situation, diversifying by shifting investments from real estate to financial markets or gold is recommended, despite potential future home price drops. Given prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, this move is prudent, particularly due to stricter mortgage regulations. Seeking advice from a knowledgeable independent financial advisor is advisable for those seeking guidance.

Born and raised in Florida. Don't even bother coming here. We are currently looking to move after living 44 years here. Traffic is a parking lot everywhere now in the last 4 years, Kissimmee where I am is a dumpster fire. Home insurance, last year they wanted 13,500 for insurance on our home that was just 2k a year 10 years ago. Car insurance, Progressive just raised it for 4 older cars to 925 a month!!! That's more than my parents EVER paid for a home in Florida growing up. Property taxes are doubling and tripling in the last 4 years as well. If you can't suck up these prices now and expect them to say double again in a few years, don't even consider it. Most old Floridians are headed to the Carolinas and Tennessee where you get more bang for your back and can afford to live. Please do all of your homework before you move here. Right now we are spending 20k a year on insurance alone. You better have deep pockets and lots of patience, it's not the Florida I grew up in.

The people born and raised there can’t afford to live there. People from up north or the west are willing to pay exorbitant prices for homes that aren’t valued fairly.
Also, if you buy in Florida, you should know that building codes change from county to county, and as weather intensifies, you may find yourself paying a lot of money for a home that will not take a major.

I’m a native and it’s complete greed. We keep on hearing there’s no housing we need to build more; but only at absorbent prices. The quality of these cookie cutter homes that these builders have thrown together doesn’t even come with real wood or tiled floors. Plastic shower walls, forget a soaking tub, engineered kitchen cabinets but stainless steel appliances and most importantly the 4x4 back yard. people must pay an over 200k mark up for this lack of quality and craftsmanship? Unfortunately they know a lot of buyers fall in love with the decor of model homes. Absolute racket.

OCALA is very attractive due to relatively cheap housing, compared to other places in Florida. We live in SE Marion County, about 15 miles from Ocala. Developers are building in our area apace - with 3/2/2 concrete block homes going for around $260,000 with a 1/4 acre lot. PROBLEM IS - there is scant employment in Marion County, with the exception of construction and the medical industry. Many working folks have a "side hustle" to make ends meet. You said something very important that many may have missed 6:52; the banks and the city tax accessor do not want reduced price values even if the builder builds your house for 100K because two things will happen if a real appraisal happens if houses with a 25-mile radius of your are selling for 100K that destroys the tax value of the real estate on sale so neither the county tax accessor nor the banks want low sale prices anywhere in Florida. I bought a house in Largo, Florida, from a relative and could have given them cash, but I decided to get a VA loan for 75K; the house was appraised at $375K my relative did not want to get $375K, he wanted $75K he bought the house in 1967 for $29K and been a good Christian he felt I was getting cheated to pay him above and beyond the fair value of what he paid. to make a long story short the county tax assessor's office and the bank I was trying to get the loan were up in arms. The bank refused the loan, so I decided to get a secure loan even though the VA guaranteed me the loan. Sadly, my uncle passed away in 2023, but to show how the scam works and why Florida is a failed real estate state. Only if you own your home outright do you have nothing to worry about high insurance rates or HOA or other nonsense.

Yes, how is someone going to pay for their $400k to 600k gated community home and pay those HOA fees as well? Those insurance and flood insurance costs? What golf course, restaurant, retail store, etc, job is going to pay this? Plus, after 3 months of living there, you did everything that these travel videos told you to do and now you are bored? Its kinda a catch 22, people are moving from more expensive locations to take advantage of the better weather and lower cost of living. Now that the cost of living has increased significantly less people are moving in. Unfortunately what is left is higher costs for the locals. Florida did not foresee this and should have/should do home purchase restrictions. You have to live full-time to own. This will get rid of people/corporations who do not contribute to the Florida community.
