Hey Chad, how much are you asking for your Evo? I’m a long term resident here in Thailand and actually looking for another car? Where will you post it for sale ?
Is there a size guide avalable?
Well done upgrades. That is a beautiful car. I hope you get your clutch issue worked out. Thanks for the great footage. Order placed. Happy to support you.
Great video, love your immersion into the car culture and Thailand culture. I would love to be a part of such an amazing place.
Happy New Year Chad. Thanks for the insight into a massively overlooked country of car culture, amazing scenery and cool people! All the best for 2024! Any chance of trying to find some off roady content at some point dude?
Have to agree that driving in Thailand is a interesting. I just drove from Buriram to Kanchanaburi and then back again over the last 3 days to visit someone. Apart from Bangkok, driving here is pretty straight forward and pain free, as Chad said, just be assertive and confident, most Thai's are poor drivers - can't reverse or parallel park for eg - and as a result will tend to give way to you if you are coming through. Driving in regional Thailand is much easier though, than in the busy capital cities where the traffic is manic and the drivers certified as crazy ( too many diesel fumes I think)
Hey from Seattle. Long time subscriber, I’ve always liked your cars and understood your reasons for doing what you do. I really wanted to see the rotary long boat get finished and rip up sum nasty H20 over there. You got a raw deal on that project. Keep on bro🤙🏼
That's the funny parts of my driving experience in Thailand. Growing up driving in Los Angeles, other than being on the other side of the road, driving in Thailand feels right at home. Drivers doing crazy things.. check! Diving for any hole in the traffic... Check!! Miserable congestion.... CHECK!!! After a period of adjustment, I felt right at home!
Granted I was driving an automatic... I would have gone out of my mind driving a manual!! I TOTALLY get your situation!! Hate to see Waffle go, but excited to see the Merc! That one we saw at the Coffee Wars show was incredible... I know yours will be next level compared!!! Cheers!!
Cream Pei looks AWESOME and well deserving of a BMW feature photo shoot! Really like that car! The ONLY thing I would change would be air ride to deal with the bad roads and some exhaust surrounds to deal with the inevitable burn marks around them. Otherwise PERFECT! As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Chad you rock! Love the channel and content. Peace ✌️
Now that you live in Pattaya it’s weird for me to see you driving on the same road that I commute on. Love your content Chad
What a great car with great looking and sound! It was a pleasure to watch it in person that evening at Jomtien Beach. Will always be in my mind! Thank you! 🙂
Hey Chad 🇹🇩 thanks for the great car contents from that side of the world 🌎
I have had mice in my pickup so many times that I would never buy another new car in Thailand again. Luckily I am of the engineering mindset and can fix most things on my pickup (aircon being a frequent one). Cleaning out rats nests isn't nice, especially when there is a litter of dead mice! Also I think there are so many good cheap cars for sale in Thailand that its madness buying anything new and then paying number 1 insurance on it (then worrying about it because its new and expensive). So I am with you Chad; buy a used car!
I have seen people put bars under the car to prevent theft of the catalyzer.
Welding some small chicken wire mesh under the car, is not that different 😂
Who uses insuriance, i pay cash and i expect people to do the same if they cant control the car they drive in..
Insuriance will just make you a hostage, to you find the cash 😂
To be onnest the money i have saved on insuriance is more then plenty for a couple of new cars.
Happy New Year Chad! I loved my Evo for the fact it was kinda a sleeper with 500hp on pump gas.
That sumbitch is massive. Love it.
Continue to enjoy Cars, and Thailand.
Tennessee here. 👍
Tks for all you do, enjoyed you for bout 3 yrs, I think. 59 yrs old , hot rodder all my life. Good dude u are!
I was in Navy on the east coast. Always wanted to check out that side too. Lol.
Enjoy my brother.👊
Love your videos, I have been to Thailand a few times and I like driving there, Rented a car the first time visiting and drove all over ..
I went full man with a van here in Thailan. Vellfire, Wald kit, actually went oversized sidewall on the tyres cos roads suck and needed a little more height for clearance. Want a e36 coupe but its like 5x the price of an e36 sedan. Huhuhu
Anyone can do the 1 hr car licence renewal course online, where they actually say... its first person to go has right of way 😂😂😂
Happy new year CB!!! I just my 64 Impala on the road again after a wire fire, and I’m in the same boat with a freshly rebuilt sb350 with a bad lifter. So I’m thinking if I’m gonna tear it down again I might as well throw in a comp cam and new forged push rods along with the lifters and up grade while it’s all opened up. Happy driving mate.
I especially like the driving videos not only to see how it is driving around but I don't think alot of us could even dream of a trip there so it's awesome to see the country and the places you go
Great Pro Tips! I live in Thailand
That tow truck is awesome mate. Not even in Australia do we have this type of truck.
Thailand kind of reminds me of Belize at least in the not so tourist like spots, my dads from Belize and I've visited quite a few times, there's just this vibe that u get in third world countries, and the diesel exhaust smell everywhere is amazing
You ain't lying about having a nice clean daily. I've done so many repairs on my E38 in the last 2 years 😢
CreamPai is a cool ride! Bimmer fan all my life and visited the headquarter in Munich several times. We'll be in Pattaya in February. Hope to see you at one of the car meetings. 😎
Just ordered one of the new shirts to add to my collection.
I'm an Evo guy, and love Waffle. You mentioned the sound system, but you also added a bunch of sound deadening (which the Evo 9 needs), as well as paint correction and paint protection film (because you wanted a perfect car). But you are correct, driving in Thailand is chaos and one needs to be super-rich to be able to keep a car nice.
I love the partial hood/bonnet.😉 Do you have a clear cover for it while driving, or do you just leave it uncovered? Would love to see it if you do have one 😀
Hi CB, love the videos. Im currently in Thailand and will be in bangkok next week. Could you recommend a parts shop to purchase accessories for my 07 honda civic sedan?
Seems nice driving in Thailand compared to uk roads. Had an old e30 with an Rieger bodykit 60m lowered an 18's with 25 profile tyre's nightmare. Anyway loving the e30 my dream car love your video's going to have to move to Thailand now lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 such a sick sick car this mate looks epic loved it when I first seen it when you got it it's just perfect now well done 😎👌❤
You jebaited me, damn you Chad!!
Haha that gave me a good laugh
I'm glad you're keeping CreamPai
Chad. I had an issue with the clutch pedal master cylinder some years ago where the seal at the end of the piston that stops fluid going into the reservoir but instead down to the clutch slave cylinder was passing. I only had 50% clutch travel. The way to check is to take the cap of the reservoir and get someone to press the clutch pedal down. If the level in the reservoir rises then it’s the seal in the clutch pedal master cylinder.
Creampai looks awesome!
Your Öhlins stance with Futuras is just sick man...
On the clutch thingy, try getting the special lube for the MT input shaft from BMW since your droping the drivetrain.
Also, consider getting a black "heckblende" for your rear plate number base. Could add contrast for your rear as in your front grille set...
Just a tip from another car guy man ✌️
I've seen those slide trucks alot here. Except they're used for picking up flats and dumpsters
So true the roads can be so narrow here, people parking on the road. I just got a Honda civic auto. Want something cool tho.
I had the same problem with my E30, and I am sure you'll figure it out. I am no mechanic but my initial thoughts would be the clutch hydraulics too. I never fixed my E30, before selling it to someone who were going to make a track car out of it.
just saw you drive past easykart in cream pie today :)
HELLO!
What shop make Roll Cage?
Thanks.
Wow.... What an amazing look Creampie has taken on! Removing the exhaust stains and the other details give that car a real classy look! Great job!
Yeah the traffic around Pattaya kills me too. This is why my fiancee and I bought a motorbike and an ebike for now. I might get a small car like a Vios or a Jazz when I'm back in the spring.
I'm glad you're getting your pride and joy in the BMW magazine. No doubt it's a huge thrill.
I was in Pattaya, Thailand in '21. It's a little more modern than the Philippines where I found the asphalt road will just stop. Both countries have very congested traffic.
I'm a General Motors guy, and I was happy to find both countries have Chevrolet dealerships! Hooah!
Chevrolet pulled both sales and manufacturing from Thailand in 2020. They also pulled Chev/Holden from Australia and New Zealand at the same time AFAIK.
Your own feature! Bad ass!! Oof that color-matched cage REALLY pops. I’m very comfortable driving Thailand RHD, but as you said, it’s because I have a grey Isuzu pickup where more of the smaller vehicle GTFO my way lol Really too bad about the tranny but glad you guys found the issue.
Love the pov style video. Do it more chad
Detroit wrecker makes a similar tow truck (thst isnt a rollback). The bed slides off the back and lays nearly flat (about 5°). Theyre a bit bigger than the ones in Thailand, but as with most things in the usa, that is normal.
Damn, don't sell her bro, pls don't! You won't find a good one anymore and come on man....just get a beater or a scooter again...pls pls don't let her go
He is right or just use your girlfriend car man anything for the dreamers. Sell a kidney for God sake
I have a badass modified scooter, I ride that most days that’s my real daily driver. I should probably make a video with that soon.
Sell it! I'm all for a bagged w123👌
@@CBMedia404yes please!!!
@@CBMedia404 would be a cool vid, plz do it :3
Always enjoy your blogs. I just have a question for you. What is your visa status staying in Thailand?
Hey bro watched video clutch problem cream pie could be pressure plate spring tension when hot get softer cheer
Old cars, while enjoyable, are exactly that: old. They demand constant work and intensive maintenance. Having experienced this firsthand, I’m relieved to have moved on. I'd suggest considering newer cars that still offer fun driving experiences, like those with manual transmissions, but are also practical for daily use. Take, for example, the new FL5 Civic Type R. It's a larger car, offering both comfort and lightweight agility. It's equipped with a manual transmission and is fuel-efficient. Features like automatic rev-matching are a game changer, especially in congested cities like Bangkok, which is where I live. This feature simplifies driving in stop-and-go traffic, yet it can be turned off when you want a more engaging experience. You don't have to sacrifice the joy of a manual transmission in your daily driver. Plus, the Type R boasts a spacious trunk, making it practical for everyday needs. It exemplifies how a modern car can be large, practical, fun, and focused on the driver's experience. I strongly recommend choosing a car like this over a conventional automatic family sedan like a Camry or an Accord, which can be quite uninspiring to drive. I’ve been down that road too.
Hi CB Media, I’m a fan of your channel. I’m in Bangkok next month before flying north for a motorcycle tour. I love to meet up for a drink if your around.
Cream pie looking so good Chad.
Love the new cage 🤗
Met you today in the public bar and restaurant earlier , cheers barry from Ireland
If you were in the US near me, I would give that Evo a proper good home. Only car I ever regret selling was my Evo 8. I wish I could get an Evo 6 though, or "6.5" TME. Dream material.
Driving in Mexico City is similar, you just gotta send it, some places are controlled by lights but nah sometimes you’re inches from the public transport
I come out to pattaya on Tuesday for 18 days, is there any car shows, events or even shops you can suggest going to while I'm there?
Hi Chad, what equipment did you use to film while you were driving in the Evo? Was the camera attached to the forehead or glasses or something? I wanted to make some personal driving video clips which will record where I look.
Dam brotha you have made me a beemer fan big time almost want to sell the C4 to get one. That shit looks sick AF
You could add regular hood hinges to the firewall and use another hood to fill the remaining part of the opening.
This new could hold with aerocatch style hoodpins or I'm sure some Thai guy could come up with something clever.
Hey Chad, just had breakfast with Sean King this morning. We were talking about you. BTW, you drove past our condo at 3:02 mark (Cetus Beachfront) 😊 Hope to catch you on Jomtien Beach one of these days!! 😊
I got used to driving on the left side of the street fairly quickly. However, driving from the right side of the car threw me off for a long time. I was constantly turning on the wipers when I went to turn.
We had a slide truck at my old landscaping company, that could leave the slide on the ground.
Hey Chad, So my thoughts on CreamPai hood. I really dig the cutout, however seeing the channel and weather guard kinda so so. If you catch what i meant. So thought what about more metal hood outline with a clear plexiglass or etc cutout in the middle? I think would look great. Seen a few in your videos at the meets
Glad to see the welded roll bar! Much safer.
Nice Car dude 😎...my Volkswagen Golf 8R Edition 20 years coming next week to my dealer after 1 year of waiting ..
i have evo 6 400bhp stage 2 / your driving is same as i drive in India - same to same DRIVING - right hand drive cars , its been 4 years i been driving evo 6 4 seater - my frnds enjoy it and i enjoy it - planning to buy evo wagon for the collection
I was down at Drifter's Cafe yesterday. The roads arrived there are not good!
Great😊
From US - I usually don't have a problem driving in Thailand on the other side of the road. I have a problem when I come back to the US usually. First couple days I want to go into the wrong lane turning left.
Maybe time to consider one of those vans you like? Could be a good daily or for road trips and no rooms are available, that gives you the option to camp out in it. Keep up the good work man.
Chad , Good to hear your voice and see you sights and sounds in Thailand ! Just wondering if you were able to see family and friends , in GA ! Driving in the Atlanta area must be as crazy as in Thailand 😂🤣😉.That’s the reason my daughter and son in law live in a outlying town , and he works in Atlanta . I have driven there , staying in outskirts ! Not a enjoyable time . There could be a “block party” on the interstate ! I have kept up with work trucks for a couple of hours . There is no short cut that I have found! A six hour trip no matter what !
Have missed your videos somehow, unless you didn’t film as much ! Yes, I am subscribed , but can’t do patreon , sorry ❣️
I have to say, your car fender was fairly comfortable
Chad I truly feel for you having to deal with the driving conditions there. I am 100% a motorhead and watch your channel because of it. At 63 years old now, I could care less if I drove anymore on a daily basis. As a 100% Totally & Permanently Disabled VET with a traumatic brain injury that nearly killed me in 2017, driving here in Central Florida with all the older than me folks, it makes me crazy the way that so many of them drive like totallly oblivious idiots. If I could afford it, I would pay someone to drive me everywhere and ONLY drive on track or special drive trips like to the Tail of The Dragon. As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Camping out in a van in Thailand is probably not a good idea .....555555
Yes thats a sick Ford Everest SUV based on the ranger frame design and comes with available turbo-diesel engine and they will have a hard core Raptor variant too. We in the US are not slated to get this yet.
Yo fr frfr you have one of the sickest BMWs in the world
I like the dual flag merch, you nailed it 👌
Always love seeing creampie, I had this car on a skalectrics track as a child ❣❣
I spent 14 months in Korea driving a USDM 04 WRX and it was a blast. Once you got used to the um different rules, it was great... random speedbumps not withstanding lmao.
I think that learning to shift with my left would be the most difficult part!
You’d learn faster then you would think probably only a good day or two.
I thought it would be difficult but it was actually fun to learn and after a month or so you don’t even think about it
Those slid back trucks are awesome would love to import some to Oz they also have them in Japan, driving in Bangkok wow first few visits no way now no worries just drive like them! my wife learnt to drive in Bangkok so you can imagine what she drives like lol
a very beautiful job again. i love your
I was in Bangkok for six weeks mid November to the end of December to get married and drove there all over. Definitely have to bring your A game for sure. Met Oat from Infinite while visiting Smiths, super cool guy. I'm coming back in March for three months. Cant wait
Haha Chad i used to have a rhd here in Los Angeles, it was pretty fun but scary 😅
Are there any 2000 Acura TL tuned in Thailand? And how come there's no sunsets and beer anymore?
Heading to Thailand next month 18 Feb, would be cool to meet
Haven´t seen Pablo since last new years eve, hope he´s (you) doing well :)
Where can I locate a drag racing schedule for Bangkok?
Just asking but am I seeing the tires mounted in the wrong direction?
miss your motorbike NGO super fast content
!
I had a couple of cars while stationed in Okinawa, and yeah you HAD to drive a little more aggressively to get from a to b or it would take FOREVER !!!
can't wait to see what rimz you put on the Benz when you get it - I almost expect it'll be the same tan one that's already a regular in your videos 😂
Don’t take the gear box out before trying this trick pump the hydraulic fluid in from the bottom
Heyy, I need some help please. I will visit Thailand from mid to end of March this year and want to check out some of the carculture there, but I cant find any information what and where I can check out some stuff.
Dude, you obviously didn't watch the entire video. The answer is there unless your cheap.
The exhaust pipes got moved?
E46 station wagon is a great daily I the overseas market has a 4 cylinder version they come in both auto manual up to you
Excited for the low and slow car
Should have kept a 3 inch frame of the hood all the way around to cover the engine bay grommets imo.
It just feels like you took the easy route and cut it short.
Mercedes wagons are so awesome. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Super rad!!!
Love to see a photo with the giant Ants or the Cactus....Nong Nooch is amazing
How much you sell this EVO for ???? ,,,, I am in Thailand .... might be interested to buy, if the price is right.
Yes I could..I'm from LA...my baby is an old 1966 VW notchback right handed with a Porsche 6 speed with a WRX turbo motor...beat that..I remember you from years ago in the ricer scenes...lol
