Yes south Africa old music during the time of Brenda fisasi and lucky dube. Nigeria music has been dominating since early 2000s . Tyler is the only popular south Africa artist, she became purpular because of Grammy, I actually thought the song was a Nigeria song . Nigeria song has been dominating all over east Africa. The early 2000s was the beginning of the Afrobeat wave that swept the continent and Nigeria was the brain child and pioneer. Brenda fasie was in her prime during the late 80s to the 90s by the 2000s she was already declining in mainstream visibility with only that hit song she sang where she danced with mandela to show for before she passed on. Let's be objective in our analysis and put issues in proper perspective.

I agree, Naija and South Africa top in Africa's music industry. As a Kenyan I think Kenyan(Arbantone) music alongside Tanzanian(Bongo) is currently the most vibrant in East and Central Africa. Kenya is currently > of Tanzania. Check the numbers recent Kenyan hits are doing!
