Funniest thing is Nigerians does not even know if music & artistes exists in Ghana. In all ramifications, we don't see Ghana as a competition AT ALL. What we are chasing is way bigger than Ghana as a country.

One simple thing Ghanaian artists should learn from Nigerians is that they don't always sit down and make comparisons. They're always busy working. They want to dominate. Burna Boy calls himself African Giant while Davido calls himself King of Afrobeat. Ghana has top artists like Black Sherrif. No other musician sounds like him. If you're good, Nigerian artists will want to collaborate with you wherever you're from. The world is big enough to accommodate anybody. Just be at your best always.

It is TALENT!! It is ARTISTRY!
That is what sells Nigerian music at home and abroad!
The investments , if at all, comes much later, after the artistes might have demonstrated profitability, longevity and garnered global interest..
These Ghanaian excuses are getting more lame by the day!
Let's even leave Nigeria and its 220 million people aside.
Ghana artistes should be aiming to see if they can target the remaining 53 countries and its one billion Africans on the continent to love and buy their music!
Just like the Jamaicans did with reggae music!
Jamaica's 3 million people are no match for Ghana's 35 million population, but their music travels far and wide!
Ghanaian music lacks originality and a relatable sound and its socio cultural impactfulness outside Ghana is acutely limited.
Now whether that can be fixed, remains to be seen!

You really hit the nail at the head. King Promise just displayed a typical Ghanaian mediocre mindset, even though I expected more from him. You see, no matter whatever you do for them, they’re always gonna be envious of the Nigerian music success. I bet him, if Ghanaian artists have same talent and mastery as Nigerian artists, the investment will flow in. Like you rightly said, these lame excuses are becoming boring and stupid. In the next 10 years to come, it’s still gonna be the same stupid and lame excuses from Ghanaian’s about how their music is not at the level and reach of the Nigerian music industry. They will explain taya without evidence.

I have seen a theme of the main character syndrome with almost every Nigerian thinking the whole Africa revolves around you guys. When you say the media houses won’t keep Nigeria out of your mouth that’s not entirely true. One theory is that y’all put out and consume a lot of content so it makes sense for many eyeball. For example I consume Kwadjo’s content a lot and I can tell you less than 1 percent is from Nigeria if it’s interesting content. 99 percent is Ghanaian content. As for music it’s was only the last decade your music has risen and to be honest besides entertainment now Nigeria has nothing to offer Ghana and other countries constructively and that’s a fact. Most of us are even afraid to visit that country from what we perceive whether real or not. Me personally I jam to Ghana music 90 percent so it is what it is.

@@IQ.trivia225 yea you got a point about Nigeria being ahead in terms of population, gdp and some other metrics but not everything, but when you look at per individual, we are ahead of you guys in miles. a good barometer is how many people want to go to Nigeria as opposed to Ghana. For example I think Kenya, South Africa, Botswana are better than Ghana for a good quality of life but I would not go to Nigeria because it’s not better than ours otherwise you will see a lot of Ghanaian going there and that’s a fact. Anyways we could agree to disagree and that’s cool too. Anyways I pray for a better Nigeria because otherwise the influx will be devastating to a relatively small country like Ghana.

How come Asian music isn’t leading the world! Jamaica is less populated than Ghana yet Carribean music is world wide Genre. It is Talent and Hustle mentality that sells Nigeria music. The young man sound very intelligent albeit he's trying to be very diplomatic and patriotic on some of the points he raised but you can surely read between the line.. He has said it all.. Ghanians don't do enough for their artists... The young man said a little more support from Ghanians won't hurt... I felt his pain right there. Ghanians will be tearing their own down at any point in time.. Aside this.. The artists as well see themselves as competitors.. What can you do with that kind of energy.. In Nigeria.. All artist are partners... They dont compete.. They collaborate.. Another aspect in our entertainment industry that's thriving now is the content creation most expecially comedy.. Look at the way those content creators support themselves.. Even big legend like KANAYO O KANAYO will feature in skits to support those guys, LALUDE AND ABIJA both veterans Yoruba artist will feature in skits to support those boys.. They won't say they are too big or it's just a 10 minutes comedy clip so don't put me in.. They will come do their best and voala.. Look at where those guys are right now.. Gannering millions of followers on social media and views on TH-cam.. It take a Ghanaian content creators years to gain 100k followers.. Look at Teejay New Ghanaian Chanel.. Having over 500 hundreds views and the subscribers are not up to fifty.. Why are we like this.. No one will support your artist for you.. No matter how Nigerians like your artist.. When it come to picking between thier worst and your best.. Im sorry to dissapoint you that Nigerians will side with their worst.. Thats enough lesson for one day

What King Promise said about numbers and investment is a 100%. People like Shallipopi, Odumoudu Blvck etc are big Acts in Nigeria. If they were to emerge from GH, they would not get that push.
That being said, you could realise that every GH Acts who is still in the scene is unfailingly good.
Late 90s and early 2000s GH songs were played everywhere including Nigeria, they were dominating but Nigeria came with the strategy to conquer and I must give it to them, they are trying👍🏽.
Acts like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Mr Eazi came to GH to come pick up a thing or two. Fela Kuti who is widely seen as Father of Afrobeats came to stay in GH to study a thing or two, the beat itself originates from Ghana.
Finally, when it comes to the Talent, Content and Style in music, I will give it Ghana but Nigeria also tops in the area of good sound, support for Talents and Investment.
Both sides have been, and are still doing great when you ask me.
