You are right. I ride tight trails up in Oregon and after changing the front sprocket from the stock 14 down to a 13 tooth the bike came alive. Much easier to charge around trails. Also added a JD jet kit and FMF Q slip on. Enduro Engineering handguards { same as MSR } are fine, Pro Taper bars and a fuel/air mixture screw from anywhere. JD jet kit is simple to install, just twist the carb, no need for removal. I own other, faster bikes but I love the ergos and feel of the Honda. Ride it every weekend when weather permits.
i think the cr250r comes with a 13-tooth countershaft sprocket stock. you could change to a 12-tooth, but that seems unnecessary and overkill on a 250 two stroke. a better idea would be to try a 1 or 2 teeth larger rear sprocket if you want a little bit more snap.
I went to the Honda website to look up what size sprockets they use on the stock crf250x and this is what it said "Final Drive #520 T-ring-sealed chain; 13T/49T" but in the video it said it had a 14 tooth sprocket... Sooo did he really see a difference?
big beefy, not so pretty welds like that are stronger than if you grind them all the way down and make them look nice. even on aluminium the weld can be stronger than the base metal

You guys should review the Fischer MRX
Removing the 'smog' device (PAIR valve) doesn't un-cork any power, it simply un-clutters the bike (valve and hoses) and saves a few pounds of weight.
