Awesome video man, very detailed and exactly what I needed. My Passenger overhead light went out last year and I figured it would require the entire top panel to be ripped out and rewired, but not I know it's just a bulb. Thanks so much, I'll definitely do this after I buy the bulb
Thank you so much for this. The bulb in my overhead map light burnt out, and every now and again it would get accidentally pressed, and left "on", but because it wasn't lighting up, you couldn't tell, leading to my battery dying overnight! Now, not only am I able to take the cover off to prevent it getting accidentally hit, but I know which bulbs to buy to replace it!
@@VirarAutomotive Just did it. The rear dome light was really hard to get out, damaged the plastic a little bit, but i guess nobody will really notice. Everything worked really well. I just have one question left. How do i change the glove box light ? I got an LED for that aswell, but i dont wanna damage anything. Do you know how i have to do it ?
@@VirarAutomotive Ahh okay :/ well then i have to continue looking for this :) But for the rest your video worked really well and except for the glove box i got everything on LED now 😁
The trunk is 194 / 168 / T10. Those are all interchangeable bulb sizes. The bulb base is the same. The only difference is the wattage. 168 is slightly more brighter than 194 and 194 is slightly more brighter than T10. But size wise it is the same.
@@VirarAutomotive I almost broke the light while trying to open it from outsider:)) I see that the trunk bulb and plate ones are the same size.. is it correct? Thanks for quick reply

The contacts are live, but since the switch is off, it's not the electrical what I am worried about. The reason I wear gloves is: Our skin has oil on it. When you touch the bulb surface with bare hands, the oil from our skin is deposited on the bulb glass surface. Once the bulb glass surface gets hot, the oil burns off, and as it burns off it leaves hot spots. These hot spots become weak points on the bulb surface and cause micro cracks. The cracks allows the gas in the bulb to escape and that causes the bulb to fail. Hence to avoid it I wear the gloves. It is to be noted that it's not a major concern for these interior bulbs as they don't get that hot. It's usually a problem for Halogen bulbs which get very hot and that's where oil deposits on the bulb surface becomes a problem. I was wearing gloves in this video as just a good practice and probably because I was shooting multiple videos on this car on the same day including the headlight ones. Hopefully this helps.

Thanks for this! The dealership wanted $70 to change my map light! Did it myself for $7!
Nice! That's so cool!

Use a plastic prying tool, do not use a screw driver.
With the right tools, this is a lot simpler. Thank you for showing were the tabs are located.
Good tip
Hey, thanks for the video. Any idea where I can buy the plastic lens covers for the cabin lights and for the one on the vanity mirrors?
Dealership or the scrap yard would be your best bet as this is a very specific part.
Could you share videos for changing the Shifter light, A/C light, and dashboard light? Thank you very much!
Sorry. I haven't figured that one yet.
Would you consider showing the license plate lights as well?
