Join me whilst i take my novice horse to a show jumping arena hire, I am a complete novice when it comes to jumping but im trying,
Here I share my journey from a complete novice horse rider to now competing at horse of the year (HOYS) shows whilst being a completely self-taught equestrian.
I have failed so many times over the years but always learnt something from it, I hope that my TH-cam channel will be able to help teach you all the little bits that nobody seems to share and help progress you on your journey quicker than I did on mine.

I compete my 4 Welsh section D cobs regularly in both in hand and ridden showing, from local level shows, affiliated, WPCS, RIHS, to HOYS qualifiers,
Willow - 11yr old Welsh section D - Sooty palomino
Gambler - 9yr old Welsh section D - Black roan
Champ - 7yr old Welsh section D - Buckskin
Donut - 2yr old Welsh section D - Chestnut roan
I am a completely self-taught horse rider who has a big dream to compete at HOYS, why not follow my journey to see if we can make it,

Sorry to hear of your loss Karen, I've been there so many times I know that feeling, but think Champ's coming along really well, behaves better for Lewis lol means he's probably got a heart for youngsters as such a good boy... keep us updated, loving this

Oooo I do like Champ he looks a little bit like my own pony with the 4 white legs mine was VERY excitable as a youngster so I know what you mean 😂must be the welsh in them 😊Champ is definitely a mover love him ❤
Everyone who meets champ loves him 😂 he’s never nasty but just finds life so exciting 🤣
He really does have some amazing moves when he focuses on what his being asked to do 😂

Champ is 7 this year but is still such a novice horse due to saddle issues which means he has never been in consistent work untill now,
Yes champ is so soft in the mouth that I can’t ride him in anything other then a eggbut snaffle at the moment, he’s a Twat at times but never strong.

Where is this venue Karen? Preferably wanting to get my cob out more on grass than surface this year and only seen a few showing venues with grass arenas xx
This is at Leighton buzzard and stanbridge riding club, bit we also have Dacorum show which is near us that is also held on grass xx

I have a show this weekend! Do u have any tips for a very forward horse to keep them a bit slower and steadier?

What I find that helps with champ is mini leg yields, it keeps his attention on me,
Circle if you need to and make sure you keep your rising slow and steady in the trot as that will help slow them down.
