Old world -game creator here! Thanks for the feedback. Updates have been done to the jumpingmechanic and lots of other stuff. But it is still a unfinsihed prototype! Hope you check out some more games from the retroverse. There are some gold nuggets you missed. Here is some favorites of mine: Pizza Portals, Mauri mursus hangover, Get it togheter, NecroNancy, Dragon raid, Beyond frontier 5, Snackventure, Harry dwarf, delta9 and my own finished game: the Cube
It's pretty cool to see people developing these homebrews. You could say something about the quality, but they are all better than I could do. I'm only good at playing games. Great vid
@@GregsGameRoom And I'm twice as happy they've announced they're adding SNES development support too. Cannot wait to see what the community creates there. :D
I'm only about 6 minutes into the video but my first impressions are that this feels like a lost sequel to Action 52. Or in this case, Action 43 lol thanks for continuing to show us all sorts of unique and interesting games
yeah, I was going to mention Action 52 as well...they kind of have that Fred Fuchs seal of quality! (no disrespect intended to the people who made these games) I am guessing the Game Maker provides a sort of template, and a limited variety of game mechanics, but probably nothing particularly unique.
@@GregsGameRoom true that...all the action 52 games are 1/5, all these are at least a 2, some even a a solid 3/5...the graphics and music are pretty decent on most
Thanks for taking the time to showcase these Home Brews! Some were really well done and several others with a lot of promise! The Panda and Rainbow one was just a little too busy with graphics though.
First off...That Freddy Kruger game is freakin awesome! i would totally play that one...in fact, probably only that one. 😅 No offense to the people who made these(largly unfinished) games...(i used to dink around with RPG Maker on Sony Playsation, and Unreal editor for PC, so I know it is tedious and time consuming to finish any kind of game project, which I never did either)...but most of these games seem only slightly better than the ones on the Action 52 cart. Thanks for the reviews Greg, pretty entertaining stuff, and yeah a few of these seem like they have potential.
@@GregsGameRoom oh i forgot to mention...you do a great Feddy impression! i was surprised you can pull that off, and the same type of things he would say! 😆 that was funny
Hey there! While not working on the project I helped with anymore I WAS the main programmer for Midnight Zone during the NESmaker game jam the demo was produced in! I should be in the credits as Peyton Thiele... (I also tried making my own attempt for that game jam with a week to go but we don't talk about that trainwreck 😂)
4:07 when you dropped down to that screen, my first thought was "That reminds me of Bro Force!" and then you said the exact same thing less than a second after I had that though. Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that!
Hopefully this bodes well for the kinds of homebrew we'll be seeing on the SNES in the nearish future once the "SNESmaker" part of Retro Game Forge gets fully up and running. :D
Now if I knew someone that could work with me on this NES Maker thing, and that actually knew what they were doing, then I would make some big and quality games for that system, and the FDS as well.
that would be sweet if someone would make one...turbografx 16 had so much potential, but not much of a library of ROMs. too bad it is a very niche audience, and only a handful of people own the original console (yay, I own one!)

Did anyone else catch what was happening on "Project Cat Demo"?
At around 33:10 you can hear an 8-bit version of the Starfox Corneria theme!

I'm just glad that creating a game is more accessible than ever!

Hahaha great video dude. That biocat bgm is great. Love to see other mates developing/playing on these platforms.
Yeah NES Maker is a really helpful tool!

Many of these are way better than any Action 52 game.

Yeah I’m pretty impressed with what can be done with NES Maker.

In ‘Friday The 13th: Return To Camp Blood’ stab that crack in the wall behind the police station 😉🏕️🩸

That music from project cat demo sounds a lot like star fox.
if I used it, it would have to be called Mess Maker lol
There’s a game here called Mess Maker!
@@GregsGameRoom whaaaat?! lol
im only 4 minutes in
WoooOOOOooo...scary pychic powers are at work here 👻
Do they have a version for the TurboGrafx16(PC Engine).
Would be cool but it doesn’t have as big of an audience.

@orlandoturbo6431 it's bad when the pokemon mini has a bigger homebrew community. And that thing was a commercial failure.
I feel like im watching a sequel to Action 52.
That's why it's called Nes turd maker
Anyone, what are like the top 5-10 NESmaker games of all time thus far?
2:55 What on earth happened to the NES in the background?
It's a dust cover that looks like a NES. See here: th-cam.com/video/JM9Aoibr8mA/w-d-xo.html
@@GregsGameRoom Ahhhh! That explains it. I thought it was melted for a moment there.
I'm the developer of the retro verse.
Please anybody can you find any games original & homebrew like nes *M.U.L.E.* ? 😊 i so prefer cycle games like that 1, lotsa fun😊
