I've looked at the video carefully and although there seems to be some consumption on the part of the squirrel, it appears that is not ultimately happening (the squirrel actually feeding). Squirrels' teeth are continuously growing and after doing some research on the Internet it says that squirrels need to constantly chew or gnaw on things to file down their teeth (and in some cases to sharpen & clean). I believe that is what is happening here.
