I remember in 1958 the guy across the street bought a new Ford. He had to take it back and they changed the engine. It come with a 332ci wedge block that had a soft spot in the block. They put a 352ci wedge block in it. They recalled many 58s for that reason.
1958 was a slow year for car sales and Ford brought out this full size car in the middle of the year to try and boost sales , it was called the "spring special" and had special financing . My father sold them new at Nel-Nick Ford in Lynn Mass. Nice to see this beautiful Ford .
Except the Mercury Meteor sold down here! But, I knew about your Meteor cars. I remember seeing the 1956 model and the great grille work in that car. Glad your input was here, lots of people never understood that Canada had car factories too. Thanks for the input for all of us.
Loved the looks of the 58 Fords, front end and rear taillights. Love them much better than the 58 Chevy's.

Meteors were sold by Canadian Mercury dealers. Canadian Ford dealers were given the Monarch, a re-trimmed Mercury.
