These rumors largely reflect a dark passage for Nintendo fans, many who suffered through the Wii U era in real-time
I actually liked the Wii U, but then again, I'm a casual Nintendo fan, so take that with a grain of salt.
I enjoyed my Wii U but yeah.
Poever I like the WiiU as well, but it was a dark period for Nintendo simply due to how starved it was for games, or at the very least ones that weren’t either old games or spin-offs. The 3DS is what basically kept Nintendo relevant during that era, especially in late 2015 and the entirety of 2016.

Same here man, I actually closed it a few times, it showed up again on my feed, decided to finally checked the date to make sure I hadn't seen it yet.
He probably should had used a different thumbnail, like with Pokemon SS instead or something. (He even used Pokemon Battle Music so would make more of an impact on the release date)

It was amazing seeing all the rumor for the Switch/NX. I remember thinking the whole cartridge thing was fake since it felt backwards, and in hindsight is in some cases, but glad they went through with it.
But let un never forget that time Etika went as far as to commission a fake replica Switch just to mess with us... may he rest easy

It has the IR camera for just that reason. 1-2 Switch uses this feature and so does the new Brain age or whatever they called it. So that's false.

Hi there! Just dropping in to laugh at one of those rumors because the Wii U could in fact play GameCube games flawlessly. They run natively due to the fact that there's basically a Wii inside the Wii U, and the Wii itself is just a more powerful GameCube. You can run GameCube games on a hacked Wii U at 1080p.
I wonder...is.Nintendont emulating the gamecube? Or using the backwards compatibility aspect of it?

@@Matanumi Nintendont acts as a data bridge between the .iso file and the hardware itself, there's no emulation going on. Tapping into backwards compatibility Nintendo never did anything with, but existed because of the Wii chip in the Wii U. Controls were weird on a Wiimote and Nunchuck combo, but you could use a pro controller or something in a USB port and configure it yourself.
Guys my Uncle at Nintendo old me the NX will be coming this January! Can't wait

That Fusion idea sounds like a ‘let’s play around with idea for the next console, fuck around with hardware’ stage reporting.

I knew I wasn't the only one that found Hop's music really good
15:15 a lot of this was *technically* true, but that wording gave the wrong impression on some.
“Support for additional screen” Console has it’s own screen, or can hook up to the TV via dock.
“Will be able to interact with smartdevice apps” Nintendo Switch Online app with game-specific features (please add more games to the app, Nintendo!!)
“Using NX Software will unlock MyNintendo reward points” Using? No. Buying? Yes.

Nintendo also brought a small NES Toploader and SNES Jr. to the market, way before the different DS consoles. They're doing it since... ever.

looking at these games and trailers now, as a PS4 fangirl, I have to admit that the Switch's library has become more appealing to me than that of the PS4. I used to not care about the Switch, but ever since the time around the release of Pokemon Let's Go (which turned out not that great, unfortunately), the Switch's library has received some awesome additions. Congrats Nintendo! Me and my sister both enden up buying a Switch. Because the roster of games available is awesome. Zelda, Smash, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Xenoblade Chronicles, Octopath Traveller, Fire Emblem, Ni no Kuni, Bayonetta, even The Witcher 3... and what more is to come, like Metroid, Shin Megami Tensei, BotW2. I hope they bring over Kingdom Hearts and NieR Automata to the Switch.

I'm still waiting for the switch to come down fifty bucks, it's been three years, come on Nintendo.

The launch and history of this console is legendary.. From CND waiting a month to get it, to him falling off and finding himself, Joycon Bois, Etika's Suicide. Its crazy if you followed the console since the NX days.. It's strange I'm very sad and happy about this consoles success.

As Nintendo always brings up, they always immediately start testing for their next console. It has nothing to due with a consoles success, but the console's success dows impact when the next console is released at times.

This I disagree with. The original plan was to give players a few game rentals with the online service and then discounts if they wanted to buy those games to keep, which would assumedly be Virtual Console, even if not in name. It's only because of post launch fan backlash that we don't have that system, and thus any rumour about how Virtual Console would have worked is still very much not debunked.
Gamecube seems unlikely, but it could well have been part of the plan that they've had to delay due to the decrease in investment for their emulation divisions, or simply because the online service didn't reach their internal valuation of the games. Switch online is after all very cheap, launching with just 4 or 5 games would look poor, but since the Animal Crossing release was apparently going slowly it might simply not have been economic to continue making gamecube classics with the new business model.
That controller and touch screen fusion seems like a good idea tho
