Knuckles in China Land is a fan-game RPG featuring a character named Knuckles in a place called China Land. The reason it is so well-known by the Sonic fan community is that it was part of the first batch of Samantha Clarfet "hoaxes" created. These hoaxes were posted at the original Secrets of Sonic the Hedgehog website (created by Andre Dirk).
No-one knew the entire truth behind Knuckles in China Land until the history of the game was posted online in early 2005. The original page has since been taken down.

This kind of happened to me in the original Sonic Adventure, actually. I had a Chao that had gone into its death cocoon and returned as an egg, but as soon as the egg hatched and the Chaos did its little dance, it sat down and went into another death cocoon and died permanently.
Not exactly 'stillborn' but unnervingly close. Traumatized me as a kid. My only recourse to 'save' the Chao was the never enter that particular garden again. Even now I feel deeply uncomfortable in the Mystic Ruins Chaos Garden.

I heard that they first started the whole "gun in a Sonic game" thing with Gamma, then the Eggman/Tails levels in the Adventure games. THEN Shadow gave a hedgehog character a gun, even slipping in a reference to the idea of Sonic with a gun being laughed off (the line "Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead with one of those things") and THEN caving and giving Sonic a sword in Black Knight as a compromise

Yep, Sonic is 15, Knuckles 16, Silver 14/15 (I forgot lol), Blaze 14, Shadow, biologically, would be 15, as he was cryogenically frozen for over 50 years. That's everyone I can think of. Feel free to correct me or give me more characters for this list.

Adding Vector he is 21, Charmy being 6 but originally 16 before his age got changed for unknown reasons and Big's also 18.

They could just ignore the guns. It's not like one of the missions they're forced to use them. Lastly, Shadow would come out either way since Shadow did win the poll about which character about which character about them as the protagonist.
Not necessarily. Shadow with a gun isn't inherently a bad idea, but it's executed poorly. Less about not listening to your fans and more about understanding when you're out of your element and not tackling a drastically different gameplay style that you aren't experienced with.

The Sonic and Knuckles cartridge could be used to use Sonic characters in other games secretly, you just had to find out which. I legitimately thought I could pick Knuckles in Madden and got the game, only to find out it wasnt one of the "secret" games.
Guess I was stupid enough to believe it.

I think he's proposing the idea for SEGA to market a new Sonic game by spreading rumors. These rumors would be of several fake Sonic games, but only one of them would be true.
This reminds me of some of Rare's marketing for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. They revealed multiple different plot scenarios for what the game's premise might be, while stating that one and only one of them was the real one. It ended up being the most boring, mundane one. So, that completely backfired.

It's cool that some of it's essentially the opposite of what the community thought, with some parts of songs being repurposed from other artists, and inspiring others. Like Ice Cap being repurposed from Hard Times.

As a kid, I remember hearing a rumor for Sonic Adventure 2 about the legendary "black box somersault" power up for Sonic. Rumors said the power-up was hidden in the last stage of SA2, "Cannon's Core." When playing as Sonic, you would go up the waterfall at the end of the stage and launch yourself onto a platform above, holding the power-up. It turned out just to be the location for the "lost chao" mission.
I was so excited to break black boxes in every stage...thought they would all reveal something secret. But anyway, just another rumor to add to the ever growing list of hungry sonic fans' wishes who are desperate for new content...

The Sonic Dimensions rumour reminds me of the Sonic level pack for Lego Dimensions, plus Lego Dimensions did have a couple color based mechanics.
9:45 Funny enough, the invisible and translucent Chao were also rumors until being confirmed later in the game’s life cycle through the GBA adapter and the cross breeding of the metallic and shiny chao. However, the rumor of a supposed Chaos Garden being unlocked when one manages to create a chaos Chao was but a rumor, and no such thing exists. Sadly. Would have been a good reward for all of that work raising one Chao to become a god.

15:05 Correction: There was a third game in the making for the fairytale book series, but it was scrapped for unknown reasons. The writer of said games talked about it back in 2014 I believe after being asked in a Q&A on sonicretro I believe.

A better use of the time would probably be to invent a bot that could do it instead through an emulator, and then making sure the hardware and code will run long enough to actually pull the feat off.

9:55 - Never heard of 'chameleon' Chao, but sounds like a variant of transparent and translucent Chao which you CAN obtain in the game. Being see-through makes it appear to have different colours. Could also be derived from a hacking oddity when you force multiple colours/textures on one Chao, making it appear as a complete seizure in-game due to the rapidly changing colours.
9:58 - 'Big' Chao rumor is probably inspired from the hacking the game to give your Chao massive horn proportions, or possibly inspired from the glitched Chao you can get in SA2 Dreamcast when you transfer a Chao from SA1 Dreamcast from VMU - the polygons go haywire and appear to take up the whole screen - hence appearing massive.
10:01 - Definitely heard of this rumour, Omochao is obtainable by hacking the game files. But any legit in-game method to unlock it is false.
10:05 - Never heard of Chao Cookie, it might have come from the fact that Mint Candy is an unobtainable item that requires hacks to unlock, and possibly the idea that Chao are known to draw cake in-game - which someone may have interpreted as a cookie, brought about the rumour that it could be a real item.
10:09 - Still-born Chao, in fact, does *technically* exist. In the dreamcast games only. I'm not across the full details, but leaving a reincarnated Chao inside its egg for too long could lead to the Chao dying immediately once reborn. I believe this was based on the HP or happiness mechanic? This as a result could be interpreted as still-born. Dreamcast Chao are super fragile o_o
Also, to add to the rumor pool for Chao:
Chaos Garden - a garden you would apparently get if you raised a Chaos Chao, of course this is false
Chao Bully - Chao beating up/attacking other Chao, this doesn't exist in any final builds of the game, but there ARE files which confirm this was going to be implemented - modding has brought this feature back. There were a lot of rumors long before which hinted at making Chao Bullies - with most of them being false.
Chao Friendship - Chao would actually hug, hold hands, have conversations, and have many more interactions than they did in the final game. Unused animations and code confirm this was going to be implemented, but never made the final cut. Modding has brought some of these features, however many rumours were circulating long before about getting this to happen legitimately, which is unfortunately impossible.
Chao Sexual Exhaustion - This is a dreamcast only thing, because feeding lifenuts and breeding actually shorten a Chao's lifespan. This was removed in the later builds of Sonic Adventure. The rumour that too much breeding kills off the Chao or shortens their lifespan still persisted in the future games though.
and finally...

Is it real? Also yes.
Sonic Adventure Autodemo has a VMU transfer machine that will flat out delete the Chao, the sounds/animation used doesn't really help either.

Sonic Team HAD planned to do "Knuckles in Sonic 1" in the same way they did "Knuckles in Sonic 2", but it ran into the serious problem that substituting the color palette Knuckles uses for the one Sonic uses makes a lot of things in that particular game look really weird. Since that kind of problem is not something that could be fixed easily, Sonic Team ditched the idea and put the Blue Spheres game in its place instead.
i actually remember the sonic adventure 3 ds & sonic rush adventure infinite rumor(along with a screenshot of a doomsday esque zone in sonic 4 during that weird countdown that had sonic's original nickname mr. needlemouse as a character,chip and shade.)that cosmo cube:dreams come true rpg sounds like a neat idea seeing sonic having a proper actual crossover with mario outside of the olympic stuff(or honestly instead of anything in sonic's wii u run in general.) that has kinda overstayed it's welcome.
i'd also be down with another storybook series game or a sega all stars game as a platformer(with sonic & tails going through the worlds of billy hatcher,samba de amigo,sega hard girls,monster world,alex kidd,space channel 5,bayonetta especially as i'd love to see a non smash bros. meeting of the two along with her interacting with tails and have snarky banter with sonic that i could see her outdoing,sakura wars,puyo puyo,persona 3-5,streets of rage,astal,burning rangers,skies of arcadia,shenmue,yakuza,jet set radio,catherine,virtua fighter,nights,rhythm thief,dinosaur king,clockwork knight,hatsune miku,panzer dragoon & super monkey ball.:3)
and the last sonic adventure 3 rumor reminds me of how my friends thought sonic lost world was going to lead to sonic boom.i love the boost gameplay but i'm ready to see the adventure formula come back which i think a remake of adventure 1 would be a good foundation for a return to the style.(like how the creators of banjo kazooie think a remaster of the 1st game should be made before even thinking of a sequel which i actually fully agree with.)

In Shadow the Hedgehog, the scene with Maria and blood was actually in the game. However, they had to cut it in order to get the E10 ESRB rating.
I remember when the Hidden Palace music in Sonic 2 sound test drove me crazy as a kid. I tried everything that might unlock this secret level. Too bad there wasn't the internet back then to find out that the level was cut, but the music wasn't.
