First and foremost thank you thank you thank you for taking the time to produce this video. My fan started making a noise and without your help I would have been lost especially as this model is only getting older. The internet is a better place with you contributing to it. Secondly for those with the satellite toshiba c855 1 GQ the front plate does not come off. Its that back plate that is removed revealing the fan heat sinc etc etc. Yes the fan is attached to the heat sinc so before taking it apart get some heat sinc paste. And there is only 2 cable ribbons to remove after the keyboard ribbon and they pop up, not out as I tried to do LOL. Then just follow this great video.
Might have to do this...My laptop won't even go to boot up screen before powering off.Regardless of whether I use the battery or just the AC cord.Fan doesn't make a sound either. So hopefully it's just the fan needs replacing...:-o
I have the exact same problem, as some of the comments. Same model, not in use for 2,3 years (and max 100 hours before). Charging does work, but after pressing the power button just 5 sec light/no fan starting/nothing ... then it goes off. Checked the power supply with a multimeter and its fine. Could it be an empty cmos battery? When checking with the multimeter at 1,5V it is around 300). I am courius as i can just not imagine this model gets instant motherboard damage by not powering up 2,3 years. The battery has to be desoldered i guess?
@@gerardreches Sadly, i did not :( The battery at least was okay ... i deep dove into electronic repair school videos here on yt and saw some with kinda the same problem and came to the conclusion a mosfet is defective or something. As this is way out of my skillrange and/or too expensive to let it repair, i gave up and maybe sell it for parts if i find time
On mine, the keyboard silver frame came off. Unfortunately the cheap enbrittled tabs broke. :-( How the hell do I now take the actual black keyboard off?
I would like to buy a toshiba P855-10G, it's perfect to hackintosh, and has better thermal system, you can really use it for working without worry about thermal-throttling, but when I found this model, it's discontinued....
Hi I have the same model lab top and it has been sitting for awhile not in use when I go to charge it the light comes on that tells it is charging fine but when I hit the power button it will light up for about 5 seconds and nothing will happen on the screen then the power button will go black again, any idea what this could be? Thank you
I hadn’t turned my laptop on in about 2 years, the battery light went from orange to white as I charged the battery for a few hours, so I’m assuming the battery is ok? But when I press the power the light comes on but nothing happens and after about 5 seconds it goes off, do you have any idea what the problem could be? thank you
my laptop toshiba satellite p850 won't power on. I've removed the battery, used just the AC adapter and still nothing. The power light won't come on. i check the power jack and its fine , also i check the output of the charger , plz help me
So I have the Toshiba Satellite P855-S5312, similar to yours, but I cant find the Bios Battery to reset/replace. In your break down I should be able to see it once I take the back plates off. Anyone know where the bios battery is located on the Toshiba Satellite P850 P855 ?
I did some research on this because my girlfriend also had a P850 laptop. It's actually a mini-PCIe slot, and is used for a 3G/WiMAX card. It's marked 'JPCIEF' or similar on the PCB. It'll physically accept a mSATA drive, but it won't work.
Hi I saw your video and tried to change the base cover of my toshiba p850 i have disassemble it but I am not able to assemble it any more. I am having problem in attaching the lcd to the base cover. Can you please send me the photo of how its looks from inside so I will do the same.
Be very careful..Use a guitar plectrum 0.46mm and don't lift the top front edge since although it looks like metal, it's actually plastic..I started at the left side where above the ROM (Once removed) you'll see a hole to the underside of the keyboard.
I thought the hole above the ROM drive (Once removed) was to help to remove the keyboard?..Anyway, a great video, have just finished replacing the top of my machine due to the plastic around the threaded inserts disintegrating, piss poor plastic unfortunately...Had to swap speakers and on/off switch pcb board over from the original top.

Hi I need to replace my laptop's speakers, where can I find them in your video?
In your video frame 00:22 I think I can see the bios battery (I think) between the RAM memory slots and the WIFI card at 00:48.
There's is a port there, what should be in there?
Yes it's cmos battery
Which port?
Above the bios battery, there is a slot seems like a nvme port, I might be wrong, but it got me curious
I always wonder whats that extra port right above the CMOS battery?
that's ssd slot
Really?! I assume i have to take the ssd out of its casing to make it fit there right?

Hi if I needed to apply cooling paste where would I find the processor for this model? I can't clearly see it myself
just remove the fan (thermal module) and you'll see the processor clearly
I can't get the keyboard off of mine! How do you do that?
