Thanks Tash that was fun. Life has been kicking me in the butt the last few years (family and professionally) and then throw in Covid and it was all a bit much. That’s when I started to knit again 💪🏻💕 I sew and need some new pants (desperately) but the thought of sewing makes me want to cry so I knit away instead 🤭🤣 oh well nothing is important except health so “this too shall pass”. It’s bubbling away and growing so hopefully the sew mojo will return soon. Love your rockit tee those yarns are just so beautiful. Thanks again, Karen

Thanks for sharing. I agree our knitting reflect our season in life. I'm currently suffering carer's burnout and I hadn't even unpacked my knitting supplies since we moved to the farm. I'm using sock knitting to claw my way back. Relaxing me time has become a medicine not a selfish thing. Again, thanks👩🌾👩🌾👩🌾
Taking time to recharge is so important. It isnt right to give to others but not to ourselves. We deserve rest and care as much as anyone else we are caring for. x

I also knit the Harlow hat to learn brioche. I love that you have family members who also knit. I taught myself how to knit and I don’t know any knitters
It is nice to be able to share it with family. My girls can knit but arent really into it at the moment, which is fine. They may pick it up later. It is definitely nice to be able to talk knitting with others. I hope you can enjoy that community here. :)

Lovely episode, I always wish I would take notes and pictures and record what I have knit etc, but I am really bad with that and then I am sad I don't have it documented. Almost all of what I have knit has been gift knits, except a self-drafted easy shawl, where I was remaking a store bought one, and some self drafted fingerless mittens for experimenting. this year was supposed to be the year I finally start knitting for myself and I have some wips but then I get side tracked into making other things! I actually think I would love to have a pretty knitting notebook because so much time and love goes into our knitting...I totally get the mindless knitting need in certain moments...since I make sweaters as gifts for different people I must say the fitting part is always the hardest and at times a bit stressful...your rock it tee is so lovely it has been in my wish list for some time already...an idea I would have, if you are interested, would be to talk more about the wear of your favourite knits, which is something I really think is worth learning about, so many times yarns behave in ways we do not anticipate and for me knowing which yarn to pick for what, together with the fitting part, are essential. 🌸🌺
Thanks so much for your comments and suggestion on discussing how my knits have worn and the yarn I have chosen. That is a great idea. I will incorporate that into my FO from the vault section (I think i have a bit in some of my upcoming episodes) as a part of the conversation about the project. Some of them are over 10 years old and it is good to hear how they have held up. Thanks again for taking the time to comment. :)
