Ahh the Orient Hotel. I have fond memories of that place in the seventies. The Admiralty Tavern at Kirribilli was another great spot but I think its long gone now.
What are some of the best areas/hotels where we don't hear much noise? I read many reviews complaining about noises from street, tramp, and train noises for multiple hotels near the CBD and Darling Harbour.

In my personal opinion/experience, the cities with the best nightlife/party scene are Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast, and Sydney.
Melbourne, Gold Coast and even Byron Bay is more of a party town than Sydney
