- The script is finally here. I have created a MIDI controller script that enables the MPC Studio Mk2 to work natively with PreSonus Studio One 6. The script includes XML and JavaScript files along with documentation.

This is awesome! When I bought my MPC Studio it was intended for this very purpose! I felt very restricted when I couldn't use it outside of the MPC software and not mention I had no desire to learn the MPC software! So, honestly I never used my MPC ever again and it sat next to my AKAI Advance 49 for almost a year. I'm definitely going to buy this Script so I can use my MPC studio with Groove Agent 5 and ETC! You're awesome for this! thank you!!!
If you ever make a script for Akai Advanced I'd definitely buy that too!
You mentioned Groove Agent 5 but that is Cubase?
@@deiwar2994 Groove agent is more than Cubase. Absolute from Steinberg or even purchasing groove agent 5 separately allows you to incorporate groove agent 5 into any daw of choice. Hopefully this clears up any confusion if there’s any cheers :-)

Unfortunately it is crashing my computer with IRQL errors 😢
I understand these things sometimes take some work, but I had to repair my OS after attempting to use it. Scared to try again. I was excited but so far this script don't like me.
I don't use Studio One, Ableton and I don't have an MPC Studio. BUT - I still admire your work.

If I tried this with beatmaker 3 on ipad, would it be the same? Because they give you all the focus actions, but I just want to know if I could use whatever buttons for other things, like you did.?
I have most of my pads mapped, because beatmaker tells you what channels they are, but I am having a problem understanding what some of them are. If I send a screen shot, could you possibly tell me what some of the focus actions are in beatmaker 3?
Also how did you get the lights to work?

Great work Boss! I don't use Studio One but I totally appreciate your work! I know some programming in JavaScript and JSon objects. I don't know XML. If I was going to make a script for my old MPC2000XL, could it work as a Controller?
Does the 2000XL have a controller mode where all pads and buttons output midi? If so I think it’s possible.
I’m thinking about creating tutorial content on writing these scripts but only if people are interested. Let me know if that’s something you would be interested in

Bro I have a question 🙋🏾♂️, I made a drum kit on the mpc studio saved as a program in MPC2 software. I have not been able to find any videos on how to assign colors to the pads of your created kits either on the mpc studio controller or mpc software. Can you help a brother?

Mine doesn't work in Studio One no more EITHER and I don't know why! One day it worked and then it never did again and I un-installed and re-installed it and still nothin! Smmfh

It won't work. You would need to roll back to version 6.0. I raised a ticket with persons and that is what they suggested. I also asked AKAI when they would release a VST3 version of the MPC plugin and they replied that they have no plans on their roadmap.

You're a scholar and a gentleman! What kind of possibilities does this open up for other daws? Is bitwig in your sights? Is it possible this will allow scripting for mobile apps at all? Will you open up pad combo's? Very exciting! Thankyou!
Yes bitwig is definitely on the table. The mobile app scene hasn’t really implemented scripting ability in the audio apps yet.
@@x-producer-b There is a script called "driven by Moss" if you aren;t already aware of it. You might collaborate with its author for bitwig and other DAW. Keep up the good work, I'm still hoping for an official editor for these devices that would be dope. Thanks for your efforts!
Does this work on the MPC Studio Blk?
No not yet. I don’t have the Studio Blk to try it out. I definitely think it could work but I would need to get my hands on one to make it work

Remaining questions, hints:
1. On Patreon there is - somewhat unsettlingly - no explicit information that the script can also be used on Windows. Please also add this short info in your own interest.
2. Please als inform whether the purchase also includes the right to free newer versions (/updates) of the script or not.
And: When there are "updates" are included: to enable free updates, are the paying purchasers identified via their email address with which payment is made? Via Paypal? Brief information about this would increase confidence ;-)
3. Since it is offered via Patreon (where something exists like a monthly payment option), please also make it clear that / whether the purchase price is a one-time payment for live and not a monthly fee or something similar (otherwise for example it would also be conceivable that the script would no longer work after a month or so).

Ive haven't updated to s1 v6. Will this work in Studio one v5.5??
I don’t have v5 to test it out so I can’t confirm 100%. This is one of the downsides of independent development… I don’t have all resources that PreSonus has to offer
I need to connect mpc studio to bome midi controller, is it possible?
I haven’t played with bome midi yet but as long as it supports standard midi messages it should work

Glad you're enjoying it. I've used Cubase before but that's been a a while back. I think it was the SX version. I wouldn't mind developing a script for Cubase if there's a large enough demand for it.

I finally got this to work on another computer. I discovered that Windows 10 and 11 handle script slightly differently. It installed perfectly on windows 11 but gave me blue screen crashes on 10. Fortunately, i wanted it for my laptop more anyway. It could also be that my studio one has been updated over multiple release versions and device file location is different than the fresh install on my laptop.
Still working properly on win11 after 2 months mate?
Please make the same script for Bitwig studio.
Bitwig is dope too... I haven't played in their scripting environment but I hear it's pretty capable. We'll see what the future brings.
Im on Windows 10 and it keeps crashing my computer and restarting it I tried removing The 3 JavaScripts in the folder and it works but only have half of the functions .Any ideas
Does studio one give you any error messages?
I get Irql blue screen errors
Nope I just get to the windows blue screen error where it does the countdown and says windows need to collect information and it reboots now when I pull them three JavaScript that's in that folder out it will open the first bottom pad lights White and I get half the functions I get to transport to browser the touch strip on the tracks but not all the other functions@@x-producer-b
Not sure if this will help, but I found that on windows 10( at least on my machine), the devices folder was in a different location than what the windows instructions( which mistakenly also say Mac) state. I copied to the path mine was located and I got blue screen crash too. When I installed in windows 11 using exact path outlined in instructions, ,it worked perfectly

I’ve been looking into it. BM3 seems to be pretty locked down. No way to introduce scripting… which is unfortunate because I love the software and I think it’s the best all around music production software on the Ipad.
Well, thanks for responding, and if you do come across a way to do it, please let me know. I worked to get BM3 like second nature to me. Muscle memory and all…😂😂😂… I would appreciate even if I can show you the buttons I wanted focus action for on the MPC studio 2. Just so I can have the feel of using the MPC on beatmaker 3. Mostly all the buttons can be mapped, I just don’t know what some of the focus actions mean. I would be grateful, and pay to have you tell me how many buttons on the MPC you can map on meatmaker 3. Thank you!!! 🙏
