I'm very impressed, you made that transfer look easy! Thank you for sharing, this will definitely help me retain transfers with patients who have quadriplegia, and be able to encourage reaching a level of Independence like you!
Jenny, you have certainly learned patience and skills. The Moonlight Sonata was appropriate. Beethoven wrote that beautiful piece when he was profoundly deaf. There is always a way.
Get it girl. I'm also a C6-C7 spinal cord injury. I have a fusion from my CT to my T1. My legs are so stiff all the time, especially when I wake up. They stick almost straight out when I get in my chair in the morning. Do you have that problem? I also have. Osteoporosis From not putting any weight on my legs. My biggest issue, recently, is pain. The 3rd worst pain I have ever felt. My lower back has bone and disc degeneration, two bulged discs, arthritis, spinal stenosis (in at least 3 places), and it constantly hurts me so bad. Not sure why I just wrote this but I did. Have a nice day sweet thang.
Hey Andrew. I have a baclofen pump to control my spasms. Before the pump, I couldn't transfer independently because my legs and trunk were wracked by spasms.
Congratulations for that accomplishment, that's truly something really impressive since you're a quadriplegic :) Can you make videos about your story and your everyday living?
Ahora no tengo espasmos.
I have a question about the video. Are you wearing something to protect your butt like a diaper? I used a transfer board two years ago to practice transfer, and I got hurt my butt, so I haven't tried it since then because I'm afraid to use the transfer board.
@@culee7321 No, but I place the board under my thighs rather than my bony bottom. Some people transfer with their bottom on the board, whereas I prefer the board under my thighs. Each person is different, though. I have discovered that wearing pants is the best. Wearing shorts just doesn’t work for me when I use a sliding board.
I’m still using the one I received in rehab! I have a shorter wood board for my manual chair that I purchased online. I don’t have any recommendations. Maybe someone else will?
Lori Joyce I have a good tricep in my left side. On my right I had no tricep until I had tendon transfers done. Here’s a bit of info about tendon transfers. jennysmithrollson.com/how-the-gift-of-tendon-transfers-changed-my-life/
I have a good tricep on my left side. On my right, I've had a tendon transfer to work as a (posterior deltoid). While it functions well, it's not as strong as my other side and I typically externally rotate and lock it out.
@@JennySmithRollsOn 🤩🤩 oh thank you so much. I’m PT student 4 year finding the way for my C6 patient to transfer. Your video give me an idea 🌤️ . Love u
When you sleep let your feet hang off the mattress and let you legs carry the weight. You'll never get a pressure injury on the ball of your feet since you have no foot board.
Wow! Im training for PT and your video helped me a lot. Thank you!

I loved this
Great piano music!
Can you do a video how you transfer to the bed how you lay down and get back up to get back in your wheelchair?
Well done! God bless your life. ❤
Love that hair cut, and what a beautiful smile at the end.
Or better question what is the clearance from floor to bottom of your bed meaning from the floor to the top of the mattress?
The mattress sits right between 23” and 24”.

If you don’t mind me asking, what is the height difference between your bed and your wheelchair?
Thank you.
do you do very well, congratulations, do you have sensitivity?
Dylan Uribe Rueda I do not have sensation below my level of injury.

Best sliding board? Brand recommendations?

You looked awesome doing that. Almost made my fat ass cry cuz you have it so much worse than me and here I am complaining😩😩😩💪🏽♿
Call Me Rage It takes time and practice. Just keep at it!
May I ask, Did you still have triceps? Or you just lock your elbow during transfer? 🥺🥺
