Great overview! I think you're your question "What is a pressure sore?" can be too easily summed up with the answer "It's an absolute nightmare" and I'm glad you've provided so much more detail.
I came from the hospital with three really bad sores to a nursing home that wasn't very well prepared for such things. The sores ended up going to the Bone. Fortunately I had a very good wound care doctor! With her care and more pressure on the nurses at the nursing home and 8 months of laying on my sides my sores healed up and I did not have to have surgery. Unfortunately the skin is very very sensitive. I'm constantly getting new sores in the same spots. They tell me that this is going to be a chronic issue in those spots. I'm going to see a different wound care specialist next week and get there opinion
I have to be very vigilant about the skin where I had a pressure sore. Have you had a pressure mapping for your cushion? Here's more info on pressure mapping: jennysmithrollson.com/save-your-most-valuable-asset-with-pressure-mapping/
Hi Jenny. I like to watch your videos but find them very quiet even with my phone turned right up. I would hate to have to stop watching or for others to have to. I've persevered for a while but wanted to mention it just in case it's putting people off. I wouldn't want you to lose viewers. Please don't think I'm being a negative Nancy by mentioning it. I like your channel and enjoy watching you. Take care x
Thank you for the feedback. After filming several of the videos, I, too, noticed the poor sound quality. I can't add a microphone to my existing camera, so I'll need to buy a new one. :/ Thanks for watching! I'll see what I can do on new videos.
Never seen anything painful and discomforting as decubitus ulcer as a care Nurse. Managing patients with pressure ulcer is really tedious as most patients don't help when given instructions.

I agree completely that it’s an absolute nightmare. 😩
I recommend duoderm dressings to help recover from a pressure sore!!!
