I legit hate my falling in love feeling with this girl bruh, she doesn't even feel the same nor care about me at all. plus we're living in a hell long distance places, so there's just negative thoughts of me that she's just being with another guy and having a relationship with him, and we're not even in a relationship yet. Self-sabotage is very common! It comes about when we have low self-esteem and/or a fear of rejection (so we basically reject ourselves before the other person can reject us -- yeah, subconscious logic is weird like that). Okay here’s something I’d like to propose. You aren’t in love, you have a crush. Once you develop and allow a relationship to mature itself then it becomes true love.

So true. To love someone is to know them, to stick with them thick and thin, to always want to see their face when you wake up, to see their true selves, and to be willing to show them your true self, to be comfortable with them, to trust them. And all of that takes time.
Well, yes and no.
Yes, true love stems from experience and trust, something that comes with time, but you can fall in love without being in a romantic relationship.
I know, because I did.
I actually have never had a crush before, at least not in my understanding of the word.
Which is also why I identify as demiromantic.
My current girlfriend however has been one of my closest friends for quite a few years before I ever started to develop romantic feelings for her.
But by the time I did, I'd already got to know her on a very emotionally vulnerable level and we had already developed a mutual trust and understanding of each other.
So I didn't "crush" on her.
I simply realized that there was an additional feeling besides my platonic love for her.
Yes, I do believe you need some form of relationship with a person to actually fall in love with them. However it does not need to be romantic in nature, as long as it's a close one.
I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other. I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it.
In my opinion, romantic love should not be on the highest pedestal. In my opinion, parents and siblings' family love is the strongest. Family knows who you are. Romance is fake for lots of people, put on a false persona and romance on most parts gets ugly real fast. For the reality of romance is no Disney love story.

I like this guy in my spanish class. He's really quiet, sweet, funny, and considerate. I sit next to him in class, so I get to work with him on group assignments. The only but is that I'm not experiencing any of the normal tendencies when you like someone. No butterflies, no heart skipping, and I don't get nervous around him... it's quite the opposite actually. He gives me a sense of comfort and I feel extra confident around him. I really like him! What you have right now is the foundation for a lasting friendship. For love, really, the end goal is to be comfortable being completely yourselves around each other, so you're doing pretty good. And, I don't have true experience with romance, personally, but I think you should give it a try, at least, and see where that goes. It could be that you've found the right person, but it could also very well be that you two would be better off as good friends.
No, it’s not weird! I felt like that too and I thought I was just weird or something, but for me the physical stuff came after me and my boyfriend got together. I still feel super comfortable and confident around him, with just an added bonus of my heart skipping. So I say go for it! Ask him out and you could end up being really happy with him- the worst that could happen is that he says no and you move on, but at least you know you tried

Well, do double check with them. While they may seem understanding and alright in the outside try make sure they're really okay. Sometimes, a breakup like that can break people even if they are understanding. Emotions are vast and extremely unpredictable, especially in love.

I disagree with the "love shuts off negative emotions" part. I've felt nothing but sadness since falling in love with someone. Can anyone explain that please? When I'm around them I'm the happiest I've ever been but when I have to go an immeasurable sadness sets in.
Trust me this is just a part of falling in love, it may be the worst part but I guess thats how you know that youre really falling in love.
That's a big mood swing, try fixing up yourself. And by that i meant dont be dependent on your partner/crush most of the time. It will cause a not so favorable outcome after some time.

I agree that love doesn't "shut off" negative emotions. I also still feel the negative emotions but, when Im with him, it eases the symptoms. But, also, my mental health do be lacking.

I’ve fallen in love before, and to be honest, 90% of the time it hurts. Your crush doesn’t always notice you, and that’s okay! It’s their loss for rejecting you, because people should love you for who you are. It just means that you don’t deserve them. You deserve somebody who will treat you like royalty.

Can I just say thank you so much for your videos whether it’s your normal videos on toxic relationships with family or basically any of your videos you’ve help me through my life. I have a disability that not a lot of people and on top of autism and ADHD. I’ve been depressed. People don't love someone like me. Even if they like me or obsess over me, they don't love me.
I'm just something they use, so they can experience love for themselves. In a way, people use the person they "love" to fulfill and satisfy their own fantasy. You are a cardboard cutout for them. And vice versa.

Well, I remember my first love. I met her for the first time in an electronic store, she was pretty and I was shy to talk to her and I knew that she wouldn't accept me without money. So, I got a job to get some money. I was hoping for her to still be there in the store. Probably, she had a job there too, as I work to McDonald's. Anyway, when I got some money I realized that it wasn't enough. I had to clear my house, especially my room 😉, to make her feel like her house too. Also, I made enough space in my room for her, to be comfortable. Finally, I went to the store with my money and guess what; she was still there. I was very happy for this😍. She accepted my money and we went right away to home for some fun😍😍😍. We almost be together for six years and I am happy for that. Her name is "PS4" . Thank you to put attention on that comment. The first, and last time I've fallen in love ended up in a toxic relationship, where both of us had guilt in it. At least I think I was in love. Well I wanted his happiness and cared for him, but I was in need for someone there in my life during a difficult period I couldn't handle by myself. Personally I know I grew up these years, therapy helped me a lot to understand myself, others and how to approach people, things, and life in general... but for how I am now though I wish to truly fall in love again, I feel like that's the less likely thing to happen. I don't know how to explain it. I don't have "the special person", I tend to love everyone in equal ways.
Even with the last boyfriend I had, I misunderstood the love with the friendship. I didn't "love love" him, I just wanted him to be happy. But I feel that way for everyone. And it's not even about the possibilty being aromantic, because when it comes down to stories, writing and so on I am wayy too much romantic, and I love that feeling. I love the idea of having a romantic relationship. It's just that finding the right person it's pretty hard, almost impossible when you understand the difference between love and "desperate need for affection and not being alone" and most people don't. I mean I don't really have any problem in being on my own, I am pretty happy with doing the things I love, a partner would just make that happiness bigger. It's not a need for me, it's more like a desire. I wish I could fall in love again, but I'm okay even if that won't happen.

@@neoncentix it sounds cheesy and cliché, but time. it took me about a year to “get over” him and take interest in other guys. i still thought about him everyday for a while after and i still think about him occasionally now but i don’t feel pain from it anymore. i think i’m as healed as i’ll ever be, but i don’t ever want to fully forget him or what happened because of the way it affected me. it’s been five years.

@@Psych2go various topics in anxiety like how the psychology of anxiety is impacted by various factors. One such factor being the integration of adrenaline (norepinephrine) into the induction of the fear response. Also topics in mental illness as anxiety can (and in it's most potent form) is social by nature. I'm the perfect example. I had my Amygdala surgically removed (the Amygdala deals with the fear response, fear thus anxiety). That was now three years ago. For a while now I've felt like I lacked the same level of concern as other people did and that itself is its own form of social anxiety.
I am my own living social experiment in a way, which I think is cool, and gives me a unique perspective.
I should also add: the surgery was to remove my Amygdala, and right hippocampus as I had epilepsy (overactivity if you're unfamiliar, though I know you probably are) affecting my Amygdala, and right hippocampus. Therefore, I've essentially experienced both extremes of the anxiety dichotomy.

Still recovering from a relationship that ended nearly 2 years ago now, it was the longest relationship in my life, but we got too different from each other.
