Ashkenazi (white) Jews have lived in Europe for over a thousand years, and yes, they are not able to trace their pedigree all the way back to the Middle East. They might have ancient Middle Eastern origins but they cannot directly trace back, person by person, to that geographic location. Get it? Someone whose great-grandparents were from Russia would be able to document their ancestry very accurately and easily up to that point of migration. They would probably even be able to find the exact village and still find family members living there. That's what I did when I visited Italy. My great and great-great-grandparents were from Italy, and I plan to move back as these people have done with their African heritage.

Obroni is the Ashanti (or more specifically, the Twi language) word for a white person, but sometimes used to refer to foreigners in general. The word is often used by Ghanaians in the diaspora, when speaking amongst themselves, as a "code" word for "white man".
Despite the (relatively) widespread and casual use of the word, its origins are not entirely benign. The word "obroni" derives from the word "Abro fuo", which means trickster, "one who frustrates" or "one who cannot be trusted".
It is possible that the word arose during initial contact between the Ashanti and Europeans. Coincidentally, the word for "white person" used by the Ga (another tribe in Ghana), is Blofonyo (or Blofo) for short. This word in the Ga language, similarly derives from "Ablo fo nyo", which again means "one who frustrates", or a trickster in the Ga language.

African-Americans have the right to vote in the U.S., but clearly do not have a real say in how the U.S. is “ran” (if we did, it wouldn’t be run the way it has for the last 200 years). Also, the fact that we have to pay as many taxes as we do as American citizens is basically us “paying to stay”. In other words, the situation in the countries those in the diaspora leave aren’t much better than the African country they flee to.

What most of these people who "leave the US" leave out is that they keep their citizenship here now having dual citizenship. I don't consider that leaving... If it were that bad, why keep your citizenship rather than giving it up allowing someone else to take your place?? Keeping a "safety net" is what it sounds like to me which should speak volumes about their opinion of the country they are going to... temporarily.

And you'd actually get a culture shock because African culture isn't black american culture. Every African I've met has generally been high achieving and can't understand many of the issues black Americans go through because they aren't tied into the fabric of america.
Because of the legacy of slavery, black people lost all culture and many try to grab a miss match of different tribal cultures from Africa and call it black when its nothing. Black Americans have a vast wealth of writers, inventors and historical figures to draw from but too many people want to keep them down as victims or say america = white.
We should absolutely let Africans into the country to study and get degrees, after words we can offer them citizenship.
Just being born in america, even in its poorest areas, is a privilege compared to the rest of the world.
