Join us as we embark on a journey from River Walk RV Campground in Jonesville, NC to Talona Ridge RV Resort in Ellijay, GA.
Getting Ready and Hitting the Road:
We started our day by gathering our belongings and hooking up the camper. As we headed south, the excitement of the trip ahead filled the air.
Encountering Tight and Curvy Roads:
Our journey took us through some tight and curvy roads, adding a bit of adventure to our travel day. The scenic beauty around every bend made the twists and turns worth it.
Exploring the Nantahala National Forest:
One of the highlights of our trip was traversing the Nantahala Scenic Byway. This 43-mile route is embedded in the heart of the Nanatahala National Forest and includes 20 miles passing through the breathtaking Nantahala Gorge. Named after this stunning gorge, the byway offered us spectacular views and a memorable driving experience.

The route you took is a familiar one as we have traveled that many times over the years from Hendersonville, NC near Asheville, to Ellijay. A beautiful ride, but like you said, not that easy in larger vehicles. I now live in Ellijay near the RV resort where you were staying. This is such a beautiful area and hope you enjoyed your stay.
Yes, we love that area. We will actually be hosting a meet up, along with another couple, at Talona in September.

Hey Banks, KapKen from CLT... we will be joining yall soon on the road. We are downsizing "again" to a campervan so that we can enjoy more travel destinations without the hassle. But, we still have our travel trailer that we will connect on certain trips. We are aiming for August 2024. Can't wait to get "On the Road again". Congratulations….August is just around the corner. We belong to Harvest Host, Thousand Trails. We also camp with NC Country Campers, they are a Facebook group that plans trips.
West of Asheville, once you get off the main highways those are motorcycle roads. The main highways can get gnarly too. Also, I think the buddy site you almost backed into is the one we reserved for the Sept meetup. Guess we'll find out who our buddy is when we get there LOL

No negative feedback about the driving. It’s awesome for pulling the RV. You just can’t park like everyone else at a store.
