I must say, and I have never complimented anyone on you tube. Hands down, you all are 10 out of 10 on your balance of beauty, conversation, personality, and sincerity. Ive watched you all for over a year and I have watched you grow better month by month. I think what drives the improvement is your passion for what you do. God Bless.

Since you’re both sales-minded, you’ll appreciate a Zig Ziglar quote. In reference to “the dip” Trish mentioned...”Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.” You and your family ooze this from every pore! Attitude is everything. We need this positivity right now. Thanks for every episode.

A life long Michigander here. Michigan actually has two National Lakeshore Parks. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore AND a island 6 hours out in Lake Superior, called Isle Royale which is a National Park. Michigan’s only National park! Just to clarify! Isle Royale is a 100 miles Long Island with hiking for end to end. Full of moose and wolves. Both protected there. Well worth the trip!

🤣 we rented a minivan a few years back and did a 6,000 mile loop of the country with 4 kids in 14 days. It was epic, crazy, exhausting, and memorable. AZ, East to the U.P., then west to Rushmore than south. Ghost towns, random camping, and getting lost. It was awesome! Thanks for the 7 great places :)

This... THIS is what is really is all about @Amy Weinholtz. So glad that you shared a comment like this. These are the things we remember and talk about as long as we live. This kind of adventure that is exactly why we decided to what we are doing on the road with our kids. Gosh - what a wonderful story and comment. Think about the smell of a campfire and remember when....

I would have to suggest the southwest corner of South Dakota. You can go to any one of many rv parks near rapid city. And from there you are within 90minutes of devils tower, spearfish canyons, deadwood, Sturgis, needles highway, iron mountain pass, Mount Rushmore, crazy horse monument, badlands national park, and Custer state park. If the weather isn’t cooperating you can still drive these areas without the hiking. But hiking in the black hills is unreal. And as a bonus you don’t need to move the rv the whole week. So much more fun at night not having to worry about moving the following day. No matter where you decide to go enjoy it. Good luck and God’s speed.

Bottom line is we are blessed with some amazing places to enjoy in our beautiful country. There will never be enough time. Go enjoy all you can enjoy in the time you have and then take some more time and then do it again...

Take the subway in and walk the Freedom Trail, see national historic landmarks, museums, whale watching, tall ship excursions, drive to the beach, Cape Cod, and Salem, Mass. Summer 19 we left Sw MO for Yosemite. Shoutout to Kentucky State Parks! We did a lot of long-weekend trips when we were working. I kept a map with a 300 mile radius circle with the center on our home in Michigan. As you have said Michigan has great state parks and beach towns. Kentucky has hills, rock climbing, rafting and caves! Carter Caves and Cumberland Falls are two favorites.

Each one of us 3 kids would be given a special place we were going to visit, and we were to research what we would do when we got there. We took the same trip you are on right now, and it was one of the most memorable times of my life. I got yellowstone and the tetons on that trip. Have fun, and stay safe.

The California coast from San Francisco to LA is spectacular and should be on everyone's bucket list! Campgrounds and RV parks are super crowded now though in covid age so plan ahead. I LOVE to camp at San Simeon State Park and visit Hearst Castle. The tour is absolutely worth the cost for $30-45 and includes a bus tour up to the top of the mountain and strolls around the gardens after your tour. I've lived in SF for 20 years and Big Sur was our back yard weekend camp escape. We would through the surfboards in the back of the truck Friday night and get to Big Sur late but had plenty of camping options. Great surf there, amazing hiking and stunning wild views everywhere. Now I'm looking forward to seeing more of Michigan, the hidden gem of the USA apparently!

Michigan (and the UP) does have a National Park - Isle Royale (in Lake Superior). One of the least visited in the US, but beautiful and great for hiking, fishing, and moose viewing. It's closer to Minnesota, but you can take a boat/plane from either MN or MI. Highly recommend it!

My fiancée and I are going on an epic two week trip starting in Wisconsin, going to Custer in SD, up to Glacier, then down to Grand Teton/Yellowstone, then back home. We are staying a few days in each location and can’t wait to 1. Marry my best friend and 2. Have this opportunity for such a great honeymoon!

Love this! Thank you! My mother and I camp throughout the summer since I am mostly off. Love that you grouped some epic stops together. I, also, love that you said people in TN are a little extra nice. 😊 I am a lifetime Tennessean and saw when you were here and had a struggle trying to get your RV repaired. I was hoping that didn’t ruin TN for you.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is amazing! My favorite place was Smokemont Campground near the town of Cherokee (Cherokee Nation headquarters and reservation in most of the town but there are museum and restaurants/shops). Saw a herd of Elk, deer, and turkeys. Semi-boondocking there as no electric hookups and generators daytime up until 7:00pm. They had clean restrooms and water and paved spaces. There also is a horse stable with rental horses and a hay ride. Good pioneer farm museum and visitors center nearby.

Thank you for reminding us how lucky we are to live in this beautiful country from sea to shining sea! Trish, I know you have received several requests for recipes or even a cookbook creation. You have a relaxed attitude toward feeding your family that comes across as being relatively healthy. Example, the way you were nonchalantly setting the picnic table for you and Mark. Your meal selection looked fantastic for a picnic. Heck, it’s not like the family grocery store is located around the next tree! PS: Everyone needs to add a Blackstone Griddle to their inventory. This is the best method for fast and easy cooking!

Great video! We just discovered you all and this was our first video we've watched. I can't believe the youtube algorithm didn't show you to us sooner 🙂
You all have a great conversational style in this video and made us feel like you were just talking to us like friends. Those were some great tips. We haven't gotten to go out west yet, but the smokies are close enough that we've been planning to go as soon as we get our slideout fixed.

Cannot believe you blew off Wisconsin. The Ferry from Wisconsin to Michigan is not cheap but it is amazing. On the west side by La Crosse if you come from that way visit Grand Dads bluff there are many wineries in Wisconsin the area the glaciers missed last time has wineries all over that have tasting and many will let you park overnight. If you boat there are thousands of lakes in Wisconsin and Minnesota I spent weeks snowmobiling the lakes. Tennessee the chimneys area I did the dumb dad and climbed out on the rocks to get a picture of the kids on the main chimney in the middle of the river and had a rock roll on my leg and crack it, but it is so beautiful awesome offroad trails. Searching for the old cabins hiking in the Great Smokies you can spend a week easy just hiking to the old cabins that also have graveyards by the schools and churches. The Fingers lake region in New York is great. I could not do a list of under a hundred the USA has so many awesome things to do and see. Thank you for being a positive roll model on the amazing things to do that are close to home for people that cannot travel far right now. Stay safe, hope you all stay healthy and have fun!

The tip for goin with the flow as far as planning is a great tip. I love the upper michigan and traverse city too. One thing i did was hubby n i went to tampa to the rv shiw. One the way back i took hwy 19 which goes along the gulf to get back to georgia. I would pull off at places along the way cause we werent in a Hurry. Last place i stopped at was cedar key florida. Omg! So cute. We found this one cottage type place. We had no reservations mind you. We got a heck if a deal since it was off season. Winded up staying there for 3 days! So peaceful. Stars everywhere. Found the best restarant called Tony’s. They make the best clam chowder! Lol. And i was born and raised in the east coast. My point is sometimes the best vacations is spontaneity. 👍❤️

I love Cedar Key also. I used to take an empty 48 qt. cooler and buy oysters from the boats. They'd shovel it full, add ice. It was about 20 dozen oysters, dirty, you had to rinse them and shuck them, but it was $8! We rented a condo and shucked oysters most of the weekend!

One of the best photos I have of my Mom is her sitting on a rock looking over the Painted Desert at just the right time of day...so I cannot emphasize enough how important *what time of day you arrive* is!
Sun angle and shading from the land are *critical* for Western monument viewing while time of year is more critical to traveling the PCH.
If you arrive at the Grand Canyon or Painted Desert at noon, well, it's a big ditch pr a wide area full of rocks. Big whoopee ding dong.
Flowering fields make the coast route unforgettably gorgeous with the yellow flowers covering the hillsides, and even more spectacular that just the cliffs and water while the PCH in high dry summer is impressive on the water side but rather meh otherwise.

Brand spanking new to your site. My family has been camping for 50+ years and still going strong. I love-love-love Keep your Daydream. I have lots to catch up on. But as a yooper I did need to mention -- Michigan does have a National Park. Isle Royale National Park founded in 1940, It is an island (multiple islands) in Lake Superior off the coast of Copper Harbor. Only access is a 3 hour ferry ride. I think this would be your kind of adventure with the backpacking, hikes, campgrounds & beauty etc.

There are a ton of thing to do in Florida besides the Keys. The keys are a tourist trap in the summer. Florida has 3 national parks, Everglades, Biscayne and Dry Tortugas and 3 national forests, Apalachicola, Ocala and Osceola. Also Florida has 663 miles of beaches. Just make sure you pick up your trash and take only your memories when you leave.

Could not agree more with your assessment of fast and fun trips... Our first trip 2 weeks after purchasing truck and fifth wheel was to Washington State. Texas to Estes Park to Yellowstone to Spokane, bits of Canada and then back through Mt Rushmore! 5000 miles... We were wore out and had an amazing time with our kids and the stories we have could fill a book. We have since been back to Estes park and to Yellowstone 3 times because you just cant do it all and you really don't wont to at once.

I would like to point out that although they're not National 'Parks' per se, Michigan does have two incredible National Lake Shores, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and Pictured Rocks, the equivalent of a Park. And one of it's best kept secrets, Michigan does have a National Park, Isle Royal, hard to get to but so worth it.
