What do you think? Are you going to get a custom Krypt puzzle? What color will you get? Make sure to read the description for links to everything I talked about!
I love solid color puzzles and the krypt series is probably my favorite because the pieces create a design. Of course I’m going to get a custom krypt puzzle!
I want to get each Krypt design for my puzzle loving Nibling. I know the black and the silver will fit her aesthetics but I'm not sure how gold or rainbow gradient will so I may get a custom color for that puzzle cut for her. What a wonderful option! Can you put a bug in Ravensburger's ear for a 4th cut with holographic puzzle pieces? or an image where you look at it from one angle its one color and another its another color?
y'know what might be fun to do? Mix the pieces of two of these Krypt puzzles together, and then assemble the two puzzles with all the pieces facing down! (no peeking!) At then at end, you can flip the finished puzzles over and see the patterns that emerge!
It's cute watching Karen's mental gymnastics during this puzzle as she flips from "I hate this puzzle!" to "This isn't very hard" to "This will take me weeks" to "I might finish this in just 6 hours" to "The cut really helps" to "This cut is surprisingly tricky" etc etc
Who would have thought you would go from "never again" to solving it three times in one video? What a journey! I love when you swap puzzle pieces with the same cut. The gradient and pink puzzles look so pretty together.
Yoooo. We solved the black crypt puzzle and then used it as our wedding guestbook! I could totally see other people using the custom colors to do the same thing for special occasions like that! Super cool.
@@variantvirtue Yeah! We had people sign the finished puzzle, so we'd have a better keepsake to hang in our bedroom (rather than a literal book that we'd never look at, lol).
It looks like there are 16,777,216 possible Hex Colors... so the cost of owning all possible custom Krypts would be $553,480,356. I think it is time to add a new Patreon tier!!
hmm. Something crazy that we as a community could do, is to buy 631 different hexadecimal shades/colors and then each mail a unique individual piece to Karen, coordinated over a spreadsheet, and that way we could have a gradient of pinks, oranges, reds, etc., or a mixture thereof. EDIT: Wow. A lot of people seem up for this! That's it, Karen start organizing this!
That sounds fun! Of course each of us would have to do the puzzle to be able to find our piece (except whoever had the middle) and I have never done a solid color puzzle. But dibs on some shade of purple
The blush and gradient Krypts mixed like that... hung vertical and side by side is like... modern art deco art? AMAZING! 10/10 would frame and hang on the wall!
At 8 hours per puzzle, for all the HEX colors it’s just 15 millennia of continues puzzling. I’m sure you’d get faster halfway through them. Great work on the Pink puzzle, and loved you on Tom Scott’s new podcast. You had a great Lateral thinking question.
I did the silver Krypt a couple of weeks ago. It took about 40 hours of puzzling time, which of course sounds crazy, but I am not a puzzler! So I'm very proud to have finished it at all. Especially considering I didn't use any kind of guide. I specifically chose to not even LOOK at the pattern. Also I had NO room to spread out many of the pieces, as I live in a tiny unit and don't own a table 😂 Edit: OMG yes, I had a few false fits in the silver. Very annoying. Some fit *perfectly* where they shouldn't have.
I always hated puzzles growing up, but this channel has really changed my mind. I love doing online puzzles now, and I really want to get my first physical, real puzzle soon. The gradient krypt puzzle seems like such a good option, I just wish it didn't have that weird rectangle shape interrupting the spiral! Either way, I'm so excited. Thank you for guiding me to a new hobby, Karen!!!
Ahh I'd been looking forward to seeing that gradient krypt come together for a while!! Super cool video. And, just for the record, I actually do prefer it when you're doing puzzles you like instead of puzzles that exasperate you
What I love about this video is watching Karen get more and more excited about the puzzle as the day went on. It’s so apparent that she filmed after the sun went down which she doesn’t prefer doing since sunlight is better.
You were on Lateral this Friday!!! You kicked butt as I knew you would if you ever went on. Way to go... making us puzzlers proud! Also, not sure who I envy more... you getting to hang with Tom or Tom getting to hang with you. Two of my favorite brains interacting together. Also, the gradient Krypt was one of the gifts I got around the holidays. I'm so excited for it!
There is in fact a fourth krypt cut now! It's 881 pieces, and so far exists only as a glow in the dark starry sky print, called "Universe Glow". Also there is a version of "silver" (654 pieces), called "Color Spiral" or "Colorful Spiral". It's a shame to hear the custom colour krypts are only "gold", it's my least favourite cut. (the gradient version is an exception ofc) Silver feels like the easiest to me, and i enjoy black the most. Pink
I'm not really a puzzler but the Krypt puzzles look fun and their cut is just so different. And I agree that it is a puzzle that would look great in a frame hanging on the wall. Only thing I dislike is that you can't type in the hex codes to get the colour you want. The colour selector Ravensburger uses right now is just too imprecise for me to get the perfect colour that matches my walls... And if you can use hex codes it's easier to share colours like the PINK you used in the video.
Funny, i attempt all krypt puzzles like you did with the pink one. Sort the pieces like you did, start with the center until it's not going anymore and switch to the edge. But i go back and forth multiple times in the process. 😄 So cool that you can order krypt puzzles in your favorite color now...I'm actually tempted 🤗 also i love love love the gradient krypt, so beautiful 🥰 i solved it twice so far
I really enjoy spending Sunday morning with you! I love your authenticity so much! Thank you for sharing your love hate relationship with puzzles with us! This pink one nearly got you, but I’m so glad you survived 😅😂 In fact, now I’m intrigued to get one in purple for my office ❤
i love what you did with the gradient and the pink krypt puzzles ! just that has me so tempted to get the gradient and a solid color one to make something like that to hang up somewhere
I love taking puzzles with the same cut and making art with them. I’ve only been successful enough to want to keep them once, and they’re on my wall right now. Pro-tip: if you get cheap puzzles and you don’t care about being able to do them again, duct tape is a great backing. It’s strong but flexible, so the puzzle can be easily moved from place to place without fear of damage. I moved across continents by just putting the puzzles in the bottom of my suitcase - no issues.
I would love to get gradient krypto puzzle with colors from orange to wine red. I have the Ravensburger gradient and I loved it and saved it for new use. Many gradients have similar colors that I don’t like so much and I would love to get nice shades there :) Hopefully you could do one Karen! Thank you for your nice content. I listen them while I do a puzzle myself :)
Always fun to see a "follow up" video :) glad you enjoyed solving these more this time around! I don't think I would buy or solve these particular puzzles - I have literally the opposite taste in puzzles (loving landscapes and animals), but your enthusiasm about puzzles in general is so inspiring. Pink puzzles for the Barbie movie sounds fun, or maybe a barbie puzzle collab with children in some way?
I love how you mixed the Pink with the Gradient Krypton puzzle!! I would hang them on the wall side by side with one “vertical and the other landscape” (I am sure that I am using the wrong wording). I love abstract art in any medium as you can hang the art in what speaks to the individual!! I love your pink!! I really dislike pastels but I really do like this pink!!!
I did the silver one a couple of years ago without the guide. Took me 20+ hours. Thought I'd lose my mind. Lol. Ravensburger is my favorite puzzle company by far though. I collect them as well as the Worlds Smallest Jigsaw by MasterPieces
ive not done puzzles since i was a little kid and bc of this channel i finished my first 500 piece puzzle the other day. i have a couple other 500 piece puzzles but then i wanna move up to 1000 piece puzzles!
That was brilliant to see you tackle this after having only recently watched your first Krypt solve! You tackle all these puzzles so expertly. Great work, and I love your custom Pink one.
I collect the same puzzles as you do, and I thoroughly enjoy the experience and challenge of them. Now I can buy more at my convenience in the future. Also, I understand that Ravensbuger is coming out with a neon green one this month. Thank you very much for the information Karen. I enjoyed watching you solve the pink puzzle today. I appreciate your love for puzzles, as I love solving them as well. Take care and keep those happy thoughts.
You should totally frame and hang those combined puzzles! It would make a little space on your shelves, you'd get to enjoy looking at them while doing other puzzles, and it would just make your studio look colorful and amazing.
That 🌸pink🌸 colour is so soothing and pretty! Doing the classic black Krypt is a bucket list puzzle for me, but I'm so tempted to get a soft, dusty seafoam custom now...
Not a chance BUT absolutely LOVED watching you ❤ i already forgot the code word but I always listen to the end . Some times several times. I'll definitely be watching this again. Thanks for all the fun
I am so grateful I think I could cry that you did what I was hoping for the entire video and actually swapped different pieces from different color sets ❤
OMG! When you made your HUGE solid-color puzzle collection video, I commented there that: "While watching your videos has certainly made me up my puzzle game, I've never done a solid colour one. Ravensburger has become my favourite puzzle company atm, but those Krypt ones seem really daunting. However, that pink looks like a pretty colour, so I may have to give it a try. It would have been better if it was purple since that's my favourite colour, but at least they didn't pile onto the red bandwagon! 🤣" I did buy the PINK Krypt puzzle, but have yet to solve it. And now I find out, if I had waited, I could have gotten it in my favourite colour, purple! 🤪😁😍
If only they hadn’t discontinued the video version, because that had great captions. Until they make it possible for everyone who enjoyed the first episode to enjoy the whole series and not just a few highlights, I’m not listening to it because I don’t want to reward such an ableist decision. Besides, it’s a *lot* easier for my brain to follow the dialogue when I have captions.
Nice! I have had the gradient one for a while and got the original PINK one for Christmas, looking forward to attempting that. If I got a custom one, it would have to be a deep purple one. I looked it up, the human eye can distinguish around a million different colours! I think you would need more storage!
Omg that effect at the end 29:00 something is awesome!!!!!! Pink. I’m never doing this though hahaha. I’ll stick to puzzles with an actual image on them 😂
Ok so first of all the code word is pink! And I really just want to say that I have become obsessed with your videos and I’m not a puzzler. My favorite hobby is diamond painting but I ran across your video a couple of weeks ago about your 24,000 piece puzzle and have been binge watching all your videos since then. So thank you for all the videos!
Have you seen the Krypt Universe Glow? I think that glow in the dark puzzle could make for some great content as well. And even though it has an image I wouldn't say that makes it much easier because starry nights aren't the easiest images as it is and I feel like the higher piece count might've been done at least a little bit to 'compensate' for the fact that the puzzle has an image.
31:02 Missed opportunity! I was waiting for you to flip the right side around so the two puzzles would be “book matched”. I bet that would be a thing of beauty! I might even enjoy having a PINK puzzle in my house!
You are such a delight!!!!!! I love your attention to detail, creativity, humor and enthusiasm for everything puzzle-related. And pink is my favorite color so i loved spending a half hour looking at my favorite tone of pink
I normally watch your videos on my ‘phone but I’m cat-sitting for someone and thus watching this one on a seventy-inch television. So glad I am as it’s beautiful. The shapes are so great as well as the colours. And sorry for whatever went wrong but I’m glad it did. I hate orange but love pink. I’m writing this just as you’re about to start and it will be much nicer to watch.
Loved the video, Karen! It would be amazing to see one of those mixed puzzles framed and on your wall 😍 I hope we'll get some vintage puzzle content soon 🙏🏻
It looks like the colour selector only lets you pick fully saturated colours. So there are actually only 390152 possible puzzles; which would cost $11700658.48 and take 369 years with no sleep.
Me here, still very curious about what happened with the orange puzzle. Was the save file corrupted ? 😢 Also great work. It’s beautiful. I’m so happy we’re back to videos every Sunday. Curious if you got the latest lazels puzzle, they posted on Instagram today.
Something puzzling this way comes ! Great video, and I absolutely love the puzzle art you did and would absolutly hang it as home decor. Anyway Im glad you made it all rainbow and Pink
I love that you went with pink for your custom puzzle!!! For christmas my sister got me the black Krypt puzzle, so I'm glad to hear that these are a different cut style from that one! Also if you thought these were at all frustrating, you might not like the Clearly Impossible Puzzle.... Definitely gonna take way more time than you think when you get to it, buckle in!
Karen: i havent eaten lunch and im so hungry, it is also dark outside so the lighting isnt as good Karen: *gets distracted* Karen: back to the puzzle Me: werent you gonna stop, eat and continue tomorrow?
30:51 What a great Idea to mix those two puzzles :) But it seems that if you changed a few pieces at the rectangular lines on the right the puzzle would look a lot more symmetrical. It kinda bothers me now 😅
The last part must have been so tedious and taken a long time to film - not only you have to dig through each puzzle piece, but reattach it, then edit the footage, really appreciate the effort. Turns out beautifully.
While it bothers me that the lines don't line up on the gradient/pink combo puzzle, I still appreciate you doing it! My favorite color is chartreuse so I would get one of those. But it might hurt my eyeballs. 😂
I bought the gradient puzzle today and had so much fun! As a beginner it took me nearly seven hours. It was kind of easy going till I reached the yellow/green section - might have a bad colorvision on those... this section was so hard, took me like half of the time. Thanks for sharing your love for gradient Puzzles - they became my absolut favorite!!
The blue/teal versions of this look terrifying because the front is almost the same color as the back 😅 I suppose there is a perfect-match hex value that would make this puzzle MUCH more difficult than it already is.
I'm not someone who's really into mono-colored puzzles, *pink* or otherwise. But I have to say, I loved the effect when you mixed the mono-colored puzzle with the gradient puzzle. That was really cool and striking. I'd definitely hang those up if I were you!
The satin finish on the black Krypt puzzle gives me headaches with light reflection, so I’m glad you mentioned these ones are matt finish. Thanks Karen! I have to do the black one face-down, not that it makes much difference on a single colour puzzle!
It's been fun to see your journey from hating solid colour puzzles to being a solid colour puzzle connoisseur. I'm curious how you think the krypt series stacks up in difficulty compared to other solid colour puzzles you've done.
I love this puzzle cut so much 💖 you could, if you wanted to, separate the puzzle into the 3 rectangles it consists of and then glue those elements together seperately. So basically you end up with two empty rectangles and one solid one. You could use the two empty ones as frames for drawings. I think I might get one of the krypt puzzles and do exactly that, I'm immediately getting a flash of inspiration
What do you think? Are you going to get a custom Krypt puzzle? What color will you get? Make sure to read the description for links to everything I talked about!
I feel like we need to name this Karen pink it is such a beautiful pink color and all your colors are super unique ❤️
I love solid color puzzles and the krypt series is probably my favorite because the pieces create a design. Of course I’m going to get a custom krypt puzzle!
I feel like. It’s destined that I’ll get a Ravensburger blue Krypt make it even harder. Same color on sides
You should order one in the exact same Ravensburger color that the back of the pieces are for a next level challenge :p.
(no peeking!) At then at end, you can flip the finished puzzles over and see the patterns that emerge!
you’re insane i love this
Genius!!
Awesome idea. I hope someone (not me lol) does this
Yeah
Love this idea
It's cute watching Karen's mental gymnastics during this puzzle as she flips from "I hate this puzzle!" to "This isn't very hard" to "This will take me weeks" to "I might finish this in just 6 hours" to "The cut really helps" to "This cut is surprisingly tricky" etc etc

Yoooo. We solved the black crypt puzzle and then used it as our wedding guestbook! I could totally see other people using the custom colors to do the same thing for special occasions like that! Super cool.
What a lovely idea 🤩
Whaaaat! That is actually an unbelievably cool idea!
Could you explain how you used it as a guest book, I don't quite understand
@@variantvirtue Yeah! We had people sign the finished puzzle, so we'd have a better keepsake to hang in our bedroom (rather than a literal book that we'd never look at, lol).
@@kyrajopetit-walla1035 Did every person sign single puzzle or did signatures spread through multiple puzzles?

I think I get what your aiming at and I'd be so down to participate in something like this!
if one person had all 631 puzzles they could technically make 631 unique puzzles w a different color for each piece
So long as she would mail back the matching piece from her custom puzzle… 😆
This sounds awesome! I'm down for it.
That sounds fun! Of course each of us would have to do the puzzle to be able to find our piece (except whoever had the middle) and I have never done a solid color puzzle. But dibs on some shade of purple
The clicking sound of the pieces being put together is so satisfying every single time
OMG right?? Loved it!
The blush and gradient Krypts mixed like that... hung vertical and side by side is like... modern art deco art? AMAZING! 10/10 would frame and hang on the wall!
New video idea: meal prepping many non-sticky snacks for your next too challenging puzzles 😂 though I can totally relate to the ultra focus state...
I wish I had an assistant to bring me snacks 😂

I agree. Challenge is nice... challenge to the point of frustration kinda makes me sad.
I like how Karen keeps it real. We all can relate....that's why I love her channel...that and her laugh :)

I'm so happy you're doing the gradient crypt! I think its genuinly one of my favorite puzzles I've done. Cant wait to see what you think!
We're in Austin tx and finally got our power and internet back! This is the first thing I've watched on my TV all week. Loved it!! 🥺
Loved the video, Karen! It would be amazing to see one of those mixed puzzles framed and on your wall 😍
I hope we'll get some vintage puzzle content soon 🙏🏻
It looks like the colour selector only lets you pick fully saturated colours. So there are actually only 390152 possible puzzles; which would cost $11700658.48 and take 369 years with no sleep.
Me here, still very curious about what happened with the orange puzzle. Was the save file corrupted ? 😢
Also great work. It’s beautiful. I’m so happy we’re back to videos every Sunday.
Curious if you got the latest lazels puzzle, they posted on Instagram today.
Well done Karen. Mixed ones looked great too. You are an inspiration to us all.
Something puzzling this way comes ! Great video, and I absolutely love the puzzle art you did and would absolutly hang it as home decor. Anyway Im glad you made it all rainbow and Pink
You can do anything if you put your mind to it!! Thanks for sharing karen!!😁
I bought the Krypt puzzle because of this video, the gradient. It was so beautiful, had to give it a try.
Karen on Lateral. Yes! Mind puzzling questions a prefect match.
If they're the same cut you could get a few different colors and combine them for a unique puzzle
Karen: i havent eaten lunch and im so hungry, it is also dark outside so the lighting isnt as good
Karen: *gets distracted*
Karen: back to the puzzle
Me: werent you gonna stop, eat and continue tomorrow?
I loved the clips from years ago, it's great to see how much you've evolved as a puzzler. 🙂
The two mixed puzzles at the end looked amazing! Definitely worthy of hanging up a wall :D
While it bothers me that the lines don't line up on the gradient/pink combo puzzle, I still appreciate you doing it! My favorite color is chartreuse so I would get one of those. But it might hurt my eyeballs. 😂
The pink crypt puzzle looks awesome.
Just received the new Krypt Universe Glow. Beside the glow in the dark effect it's single color. Cut is unique with 881 pieces.
I just picked up a sealed version of the grey Krypt puzzle at Goodwill this week, so this is great timing!
The blue/teal versions of this look terrifying because the front is almost the same color as the back 😅 I suppose there is a perfect-match hex value that would make this puzzle MUCH more difficult than it already is.
The flipping might take a little longer, but the textures are different enough that you'd still be fine.
I'm not someone who's really into mono-colored puzzles, *pink* or otherwise. But I have to say, I loved the effect when you mixed the mono-colored puzzle with the gradient puzzle. That was really cool and striking. I'd definitely hang those up if I were you!
Love the pink…. Thanks for sharing!
Pink and your video was definitely not a mess! I’m not to krypt puzzles yet, but maybe someday!
Great video Karen! It was so fun to watch this
The satin finish on the black Krypt puzzle gives me headaches with light reflection, so I’m glad you mentioned these ones are matt finish.
I have the rainbow krypt on my wish list. Now I may need a soft yellow one too. The PINK is lovely too, though.
