    Hey mate, a little trick with a flooded saw is put the saw on the ground, no choke, hold the throttle wide open and you can also take the air filter cover off and keep pulling it over reasonably quick and it’ll splutter into life then a few good revs and it’ll be good to go again, just found your channel and enjoying your videos

    The steep section above where you did the first fix, few years back that was in bad condition, I had to take the left option. Was very relieved to make it down there, very close to putting the old girl on her side. Depending on conditions that lower section of basalt knob south can be one of the gnarliest in the HC. Not for new players. 2nd spot, what a background to your bush mechanics. Maybe invest in a coolant temp gauge with alarm for the old girl, the factory ones spike suddenly and it's almost too late

    • @Bush-Tv
      @Bush-Tv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same for me mate. We went up there back in 2006 and was really cut up.

  • @DailyGrindAus
    @DailyGrindAus ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I used to have an 80 series in the early 2000's and I had problems a little similar. It turned out to be the heater core being blocked which created the back pressure that blew the hose that runs under the dash. I had a wierd smell a bit like McDonalds pancakes in the cab for a couple of weeks. But check the heater core to see if it is clogging - it's connected to the overall cooling system and crap can block it.

    • @Bush-Tv

    Nice video, shame about the issues,
    A while ago I removed that whole metal pipe and rubber pipe from the block and just ran a rubber heater hose to the t junction and I haven’t had any issues since,
    also I recently saw the heater tap looking suss and I ordered a replacement, upon removing it snapped like yours so I was lucky I changed it when I did. The factory dash gauge isn’t the best and sometimes it’s too late when it’s showing it’s too hot.

    • @Bush-Tv
      @Bush-Tv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      G'day Steve, Did you just run the rubber all the way down or block it off. Cheers.

    • @Stevenk770
      @Stevenk770 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Bush-Tv yes sorry I did just run rubber heater hose from the block to the top where the t junction is, so if it fails again you can just replace a hose and you have less connections to fail.
      From Memory I replaced all the heater hoses and used brass connectors,
      I think I moved the t junction further away from the heater tap towards the left so that the hose doesn’t have to bend back in towards the right near the heater tap but I made sure it’s not rubbing on anything and also the t junction is easier to get too as not right in the top if you know what I mean.
      My gas converter is mounted on the left mud guard so the hose run is longer than yours as yours is mounted to the motor.
