I totally agree. Any plant that enters my house dies. So instead of killing off another one I got a couple fake ones and they look good.

I’ve added magnetic LED lights to the sides of my medicine cabinet and it’s great because it saves me having to use the main bathroom lights, which saves on electricity. Next is to put some in the vanity cabinet. I also got a great inexpensive motion sensor trash can from Amazon.
I love seeing your bathroom! I also have painted dark brown walls, but with white accents (tiles, bathtub, toilet, sink etc), so it is basically dark chocolate brown & white throughout! Nobody I knew thought it was a good idea when I said I was painting my bathroom brown! However, 5 years later and people always compliment me on my bathroom! I have rolled white bath sheets, labelled amber brown refillable bottles for my shampoo, body wash etc, white pillar candles on my stained dark oak bath caddy, a huge abstract framed piece, hanging eucalyptus, an LED sconce over my mirror and of course a diffuser! The dark colors with the contrasting but uniform accents remind me of a hotel and I feel so at peace in there! I love the layered lighting tip, I will definitely think of how to incorporate more of that into my bathroom. Thank you! 😊

Different color towels saved my sanity in a multiple children bathroom. They picked the color, and only they used their towels. No squabbles.

I started using bath sheets a few years ago and will never go back. I love them so much that it makes me sad when I go places and have to use a regular sized towel.

You look beautiful in that outfit! I’m renting and my primary bath is soooo outdated but I did pretty faux plants on the tub and some pretty bath related pictures and towels and wash cloths in complementary colors- navy and terracotta colors. It’s better. 🤷♀️

btw, a Bath Sheet to you normals, is a bath towel to us Ogre-sized individuals. 6'3'' 325lbs, yeah, Ogre-Sized, not over-sized. LOL

Great tips! I rarely use the vanity lights in the bathroom - I have a nightlight that creates just the right amount of light needed to do what needs to be done at night - not too bright, not too dim. And my trash can fits inside the vanity - out of sight, out of mind (but there when you need it). I also keep fresh lavender in the bathroom, in the summer I have a fresh bouquet just behind the shower head (such a beautiful aroma from the steam!), and then dried lavender in a jar for the rest of the year.

I wish I had a bathroom like yours! It's so nice. My poor 20 year old one is all the builder stuff. I didn't even get to pick anything out. When I bought the home it had already had a previous buyer that walked away and they picked all the paint, wood, fixtures, etc. My tiny bathroom has no features to add lightsxto. I just wish I could put 8n a new shower and sink to make it safer for me as I have mobility issues. I'm healing from a very bad fall in there 3 weeks ago. You have great ideas and I love that you look for really nice ways to add class to a room.

You are so right about the contrasting rugs!! I live in a rental, bathroom is nice but I wanted to create a green, tropical feel so I bought two deep green bath rugs and they look awful!!! Floor tile is light brown ceramic and I was tired of the same boring taupe colored ones. Live and learn . . .

M9 odor eliminator is a game changer in the bathroom. Hospitals use it for a reason.
I put dimmers in both my bathroom overhead lights .
I've upgraded my entire house in the last couple years. Including painting the outside of it also. When I first started, I thought I would keep track just so I would know how much I spent. I stopped keeping track once I hit the kitchen. It would just be too darn depressing now. And the scariest thing is I could've easily spent three times what I did.

Great ideas KB! My main bathroom renovation is heading into the home stretch (or so the overlord told me today)...supposed to be done by Friday (we'll see). Can't wait to decorate. I despair about the bath towels. After my husband and I were married (38 years ago!) our first argument was about bath towels. To this day we can't agree. He likes small, scratchy, threadbare towels that I'd call cleaning rags. I love the big, soft, cozy bath sheets. Alas, I fear we will never have a matching set of pretty towels in our bathroom!
Throw all of his ragged bath towel s in the garbage get him some new in his favorite color he will love you for that

The lid garbage can is a great tip, hate seeing a display of garbage. As for spray scents smelling like poop-pourri, it depends on the brand, some are better at masking odor than others.

I love bath sheets. And I don’t own any, right now. But if they have one’s at Walmart I will get some. I have to have a trash can with a lid in our bathrooms. I have a dog who will get into any trash can he can. We have a white one in our bathroom. And I stainless steel one in the guest bathroom. When my daughter and son in law visited. She turned the can backwards. So the dog couldn’t get into it. And he has. I just bought a new rug for the guest bathroom. But it’s too big. So I’m going to let guests use it as a big bath mat. I bought something to put on the corners so it won’t slide around. I haven’t done it yet. They just came today. I hope they work. I also bought a new shower curtain. It’s a neutral design. The old one was just tan with a white stripe. So it does look better. I have had plants in my bathroom. I just brought two out to the kitchen counter. They weren’t looking too good. I left my spider plant in there. I just put it back in there. And I have a candle in the corner. But just one. It’s on the side of the huge bathtub we don’t use. It’s too big and we have to have our water trucked in. Someday we may get a well. It’s only been three years we have been waiting. If building dies down some they will come and do ours. I’m just glad we can get water here.

My bathroom is teeny tiny..Older Home built in 1974..I changed the shower head to a waterfall, added the organizer that fits from the tub to the ceiling, changed the shower curtain rod to a circular one..All my trash cans have the foot pedal to open..Febreez has a small space plug in that's awesome but my bathroom doesn't have an electrical outlet..I was considering hanging live eucalyptus on the shower nozzle...I literally have no countertop space...HELP..😃
