- Here's a video on how to setup and wire the NZXT Kraken 240 RGB all in one CPU cooler. Here I'm using it in the H6 Flow RGB and giving you the wiring logic for setting it up and connecting everything you need to. The full specs of the system are below if you need help.

I don't think anyone has done a guide as comprehensive and easy as this, 3 years ago I installed one on my own and going through the manual and online guides wasnt helping and ended up taking the pc back to the shop and wait 2 weeks for them to build it

I put the standoffs on the inner holes though. I felt having the pressure closer towards the center where the chip is would be better.

As a pc builder … these are awesome but the fans / setup are absolutely terrible compared to Corsair / Lian li

@iceeaglert I’m also curious as to why you feel this way about the fans/setup of this AIO? I’m looking to replace my current AIO cooler that came with my prebuilt PC. Already changed my ram, CPU and GPU and since I went from a ryzen 9 7900X to a ryzen 7 7800X3D I want one with a screen to monitor my temps and what I like about this one is the hoses are on the bottom so it’ll clear my ram sticks. My current one has the hoses on left side of the pump head. I’m just looking to upgrade and hopefully help with my GPU temps also. I’m currently running a 240mm 2 fan AIO I’d love to go to a 340mm but I don’t know if it’ll fit or not…

I would prefer daisy chain rgb solution for all brands instead of a hub as it is easier to wire up, but perhaps a bit more messy managing. With each system using proprietary connectors make mixing and matching very challenging!
Nice vid bro, build my pc back in january with a 13600k, 32gb DDR5 @6400 and a 4070ti. Works like a charm but my air cooler ( deepcool ) after refitting still showing bad results on Cine and demanding games. ( 80 degrees max ) . I've got a Fractual Design Meshify C so I need the 240 version. I've already got a RGB controller with 5 ports on the back so I'll going for the black standard version.
Big issue is, I need to unplug almost everything to install the back bracket..... but hey you want results, you gotta work for them haha.
Have you tried undervolting? I got a 13600k down from 80+ to 59-65c full load. Most cores 60, 1-2 65c.
i have pump_fan1 and cpu_fan1. where should i connect it? are there any differences/advantages?
Pump 1 , cpu fan is for air coolers if you use cpu fan it will overheat.
I have this aio, but I don’t recall having a backplate for the mount. Is that a bad thing, I’m curious if I’ve been needing a backplate for it but haven’t been using one this whole time
I have the black 240 AIO and gotta say the fans did develop a squeak after about a year or 2, replaced them with noctuas

I'm a bit worried, I'm about to buy parts to make a build similar to the one you made in the short (h6 flow, 13700k, 850w PSU 80 plus gold, and either a 4070ti or 4080) and I'm torn between buying a cheaper 360 Aio or a 240 NZXT (which honestly I like better).
You think I'll be fine with a 240? I never built a PC so I would be grateful for a response 🙏
360 provides better cooling performance tbh
If you want a cheaper one, Thermalright Frozen Notte 360 is fantastic bang for the buck. Highly recommended.
My non rgb 240 is plugged in to the usb header, and shows up as a removable drive. How do I get it to keep the power, but not show up as a removable device?

I am trying to install this on a 1700 socket motherboard and the backplate, when screwed in all the way has some play so it's not snug. Is this normal? thanks

Use the Lian Li hub yes

Hey I have the same motherboard, ram and cpu cooler and I am getting a red cpu signal and a yellow dram one. Can you please help with this? This is very frustrating
Do you have to screw the fans on from the top of the case? My fans fit underneath with the radiator but now good enough where I can screw all 4 thru outside on the top

im using a 360 mm nzxt aio with all the same wires but I'm gonna be using lian li fans instead of the nzxt fans so I'm wondering If I just plug the USB connector from the pump into the motherboard since I'm not gonna be using the fan hub included with the aio?

i have this cooler + the H5 flow RGB case. Can i wire the fans with only 1 RGB controller? (3 rgb fans connected to the controller ) and 1 RGB fan from the case connected on a 4 pin RGB motherboard?
Is it possible to wire more FAN power cables besides the 3 with splitter cables directly to the AIO? This solves potential USB issues on the MOBO for many people

Yes. Just connect your other fans to the CPU fan header on your motherboard or to their own fan controller and set a fan curve to respond to CPU temp

Question. I have kraken 360 rgb. When i set it up, i accidentally plugged my header into sys fan 4 and not jusb 1. The pump kinda works but now nzxt cam only displays the pump as system fans. Upon plugging in to the proper usb header, the pump doesnt turn on at all. Any idea on what to do?
Probably best to ask NZXT support

The aio tube is so short it blocks off your ram. Spent all this time installing to find out the tubing is damn short for the 360 version

I have connected everything the way you showed, exactly as you showed. But the cam software doesn’t recognize the aio, it lights up and shows temp, but the software doesn’t recognize it at all.

Have you connected the USB from the pump to the motherboard. And connected to CPU fan or AIO Pump on the motherboard

Hi. The CAM software does not recognize my AIO. It works fine but I can only see Liquid temperature on the display. I tried few things from their website such as power drain or reinstalling the app but nothing.. any tips?
I assume you have connected the usb connection to your motherboard and the cable is fully connected? Otherwise it wouldn't recognise it.

i got same problem with my nephews build the cooler will work with spilter but cam wont register the RGB fans yet they are spinning if i swap the splitter with the cooler the rgb will work then not the cooler display any ideas?@@razvanmiron8411

Dumb question, but I never installed a water cooling kit before... Is the water already inside? I get a bit confused sometimes because I see these guys in videos pumping water in their pc and there's a reservoir, but sometimes there's none of that...
not dumb, a lot of people ask. So, this is what's called an "all-in-one" cooler. Which means the pump is in there as is the coolant already. You don't need to fill it and indeed you couldn't even if you wanted to as it's sealed. The other videos you've seen will be of custom loop systems, which are completely different and require liquid and a lot more effort. AIO coolers are much more user (and beginner) friendly.
mate, i have a problem. I have this cpu cooler and i installed it with your tutorial, everything was good, but now it is like rare. It restarst over an over, it is like disconnecting, but everything like de pins, the cable, all of that is okay, and i dont know what to do :c

how do you know the fan direction? you mentioned it is set as exhaust fan, but how do you know the direction of the fan blowing without turning it on? would there be a case of intake setup as opposed to exhaust setup?

You can connect it to CPU fan as an alternative to auto pump but you don't need to unless you're getting errors

My system crashes and shows a critical temperature error. Do you think the Lian Li Galahad 2 Trinity 360 AIO cooler would solve the thermal throttling issue?

So I Bought The NZXT Fan/RGB Controller Which Comes With 6 RGB Ports & 3 Fan Ports. Could I Hook Up All The Cables From The AIO Into That Or Do They Have To Go To The Splitter Cable That Comes Out The AIO? Please Help!
I have the 360mm and theres a few lights that dont work on the fans. Could a loose connection cause this or are the lights just faulty? Everything works as it should except for a few small bulbs in the fans.
I'd ask NZXT support. Sounds like a faulty product
