A Myanmar woman who was shot in the head during an anti-coup protest last week died on February 19, 2021. The death of Mya Thwet Thwet Khine, who had just turned 20 years old, is the first confirmed fatality since the military junta took power on February 1.

My domestic helper (i refuse to say maid) is from Myanmar i remember crying for days straight when she had to go back home to her country, she left because she was diagnosed with tuberculosis, a year later i found her Facebook and this month, I saw that she posted articles about the protests happening in Myanmar, it was something about a politician being jailed. Few days later, she posted a photo of children, elderly, and families kneeling on the floor, the police standing in front of them with guns to their heads. The scene was from world war 2 I think. The caption wrote: "look there, do you want to go back to that again."
My heart goes out for her, pls stay safe. Because everytime i see another domestic helper with another kid i think back to her and me.

I saw the video. It was just random like a stray bullet into the crowd. You would never expect her getting blasted as she walked a few steps. And boom you see her get head shot kinda from the back from people who were like 100 or so meters away out of no where. Sad way to go.
