Hey Jackie, you could have probably worked on the nails when they were loose and then stuck them on at the end. I was a bit perplexed that you didn't take advantage of this considering you weren't trying to do a sculpt on your real nails! haha but kudos anyway, it looked way fiddly...

Hi Jackie, as someone who does nails, UV resin for nails actually exists, it's called builder gel. also gel polish is a form of UV resin also used on nails

Sometimes to make it easier, I glue the fake nail on the tip of a toothpick and stick that toothpick in a candle/styrofoam and its WAY easier haha! I like it cuz you don't have to worry about getting stuff on ur skin and once ur done you can pull it off and glue/tape it on ur nail!

I wanna see you do another one with all koi pond nails! Lil fish in different colors or different environments around each pond! If you want some tips, you should totally watch more Simply Nailogical content! She reviews how to do a full prep including cuticle pushing ;)
I love how you used resin. Normaly nail artists would use acrylic for this. That hardens too, but you don't need any yv lights or so. It just hardens.
As someone who has done a lot of nail art in the past, this was really enjoyable haha. Tip for your own nails: smooth them with a nail file. Put on a base coat before you put any colour on it. This also protects your nails from colouring (mostly haha)

I also noticed that and it cringed me a little bit. I know that Jackie do not know much about a nails but at the begining she showed sculptured nails (bubble with liquid inside) but then she said that she can elevate nail art as she can sculp and not many nail artist can do so. I really love Jackie but this was not so nice to hear. A little to much confidence I think especially for doing this things for the first time and not knowing what to do 🤷

Don’t be so hard on yourself Jackie! There’s a learning curve with everything. Nail polish is a b until you’ve really mastered it lol! I honestly think it came out fine tho. You don’t have to get so nervous that everyone will be mad it’s not perfect we don’t expect you to be perfect lol

seriously, when I saw the thumbnail I thought that the nail art is done by a professional nail artist and you will try making it but as a beginner you did it like a professional and it was you idea which was in the thumbnail. The aquarium one was unbelievable. Every nail art was great

i only apply one layer if the nail polish is good quality. Cheap ones need double coats because they're too translucent otherwise.

she has Hashimotos Thyroiditis. I do too, and let me tell you it's rough sometimes. I recently had a 30 pound weight gain the past 3 years...I make jokes about the same thing, and it's a way to cope with feeling gross about my looks. I hope Jackie knows she's adorable. Sometimes it can be hard!

As someone who does nail art and love doing it, I think you should do more of these! Get the extra long nail tips on amazon and go to town on the art. You could probably do some really cool stuff with a longer nail to.

I worked in a supermarket stocking shelves with both long natural nails and later acrylic nails, and am now a teacher who not only crafts and does art but is an arts specialist. You legitimately adjust over time, to the point when I remove my nails on occasion (such as lock-down D:) I can't type properly or pickup things. I would legitimately love a set of fantasy/scenery nails and I feel like my students would love it too aha.

A couple of ideas from an artist who has also tried nail art; do the art on the nails BEFORE putting them on. This way you have both hands free to create with. Second, try sculpting gels and powders made for nails (yes, nail artists DO sculpt) they may be a new medium for you.

Jackie for what u said at 22:20 about having a way to do the nail art then put it on. I paint false nails all the time. They sell nail art stands on Amazon. I use blue Tack to hold it to the stand while painting/deco then after I glue them to my fingernails... It's so helpful because I can't do anything with long nails either

Hello I wanted to help you to the best of my ability as an up and coming nail tech!
1.) The cuticle is the dead, sticky tissue your nail produces as it grows! As a nail tech we remove this along with the dead skin cells so when we sculpt nails the products we use stick. Peel off base coats are absolutely wonderful when playing with press on nail as well.
2.) When working with fake nails it's always helpful to have a nail stand and some tack to temporarily adhere the fake nail so you can work with both hands!
3.) When working with nail glue I personally find the brush on kind 10x easier as I have better control of the amount coming out of the bottle.
4.) I highly recommend checking out nail career education's channel as she is a long term pro and can give better tips than I can.
If you can, I also recommend looking up Aquarium nails, scorpion nails, and the weirdest I've seen the toilet bowl and scrubber acrylic sculpture nails. Love you!

Jackie this Is so cute I love how you're trying nails out 😂 I'm a nail technician and I thought this video was so entertaining if you want to do this again though I'd suggest getting some clear gel to use to attach things instead of resin ( still sets using your little led lamp just cosmetic and safe for use around skin) also you can get a little stand for super cheap from eBay so you don't have to put them on your fingers while making them 😁 loved this it's actually given me ideas for my next set x ❤️

Some nail art consists of having pieces of a sort of sculpture on each nail and when you hold your fingers a certain way the bits line up into a single figurine/sculpture.
Do that with a dragon.

If you’re thinking about doing this again a little tip is to paint the fake nail before you stick it on trust me it will really help with trying to sculpt with long nails

There´s a type of nail art called fantasy nails, and actually "aquarium" nails do exist, not as extreme as yours, but two long nails are glued together leaving a space between so you can fill them with oil, little "stickers", glitter and other stuff, they´re not supposed to be used as everyday acrylic nails because they´re fragile, but they do look pretty cute, they´re just like resin charms but on your nails
