- Cash or Trash? Today we will be testing craft kits. These are DIY Slime craft kits. One is a Japanaese craft kit and the other one is North American. Let's unbox and review these Slimes, will they be easy to make? Will they be fluffy slime? Crunchy Slime? Or will they be failed slime? Are they worth it? One thing about this series is it shows how clearly cheap American crafts kits are made, how their quality is never what they portray it to be and how clearly these companies see kids as not smart enough to grasp the most basic of concepts. Not to mention the packaging has more thought and attention put into it than the actual products inside. And the funny thing is I can bet you 95% of "American" crafts kits are more than likely not even made in America but simply just imported....
Usually made in China or Taiwan
I think its more indicative of consumer culture, like American are just more willing to spend more money on less quality. Parents don't often check the toys they buy for their kids, at least not for quality.

My parents always double check the quality and read reviews. And I have to chip in if it is too expensive because it is my own responsibility.
As someone who only discovered this with slime, the whole slime trend is actually a sensory thing! I personally have sensory issues, being someone with suspected autism. I found out how much I *love* sensory things, mostly texture and also very much sound, from slime. after the whole trend passed most people kinda let it go but people like me are still very into it. Not even just people who have sensory issues, but any people who are sensory oriented. You dont even have to know that you’re sensory oriented, if you like slime chances are you are.
i think anyway. thats certainly why I like it and a lot of people probably dont get it because they dont get the same satisfaction from sensory things so

Yes! It is a sensory thing! I’m pretty sure that some people think that we’re just weirdos that like to squish things And don’t understand the sensory part. Also. The trend is very much over but, I still quite like it!

That was definitely my first thought! I may not know a lot about sensory issues/sensory orientation or autism [ as I don’t know if I even have anything like that, and haven’t researched ], but I do know all sorts of things can make someone happy, be comforting, or be stimulating when it comes to sensory things.
I love the feeling of kinetic sand. I used to work in a school for children with autism and a lot of them loved sensory play and it was always SO exciting when they wanted to play with kinetic sand or playdoh

Slime have different texture examples of the names: Butter slime, Crunchy slime, and Fluffy slime.
I think the result of the Japan kit slime was a Jelly texture because it looked like it...which was kind of neat coming from a powder to a slime.

For me slime is just something I use to calm myself down because my family has anger issues so I play with my slime to calm me down. Idk if I’m the only one but I’m just saying my point of view of slime. Also, I enjoy the feel of these like fake bullets or tiny little spheres (balls but trying to b family friendly) and then just dipping my hand into it. As well as orbeez.

💡helpful hint for getting exact measurements: always set cup on flat surface when pouring liquid in to measure, don’t hold the cup, while pouring, this could result in error of measurement bc you could be holding the cup crooked and think it’s to the fill line, etc. 🌈 the more you know 🌈

I also commend you for being one of the few (that I know of) creators who aren’t over the top, and aren’t completely inappropriate (poop jokes are always acceptable 🤪) been a subscriber since waaay back- started watching your fan mail vids, and you were so encouraging and sweet to all the kids who look up to you. Very true. I used to toss knives over my hands and around my back for fun so having one waved at me doesn't bother me. Lol. Also have fire dancer equipment. Can't light that yet cause I don't have a trained safety 😃 when doing dangerous things one should do it safely even if it is juggling sharp knives and lighting things on fire.
I'm not allowed my sharp pointy thing anymore :( because I accidentally cut myself on my wrist and because I'm sooo strong it went down to the bone still have the cut over 6 months ago to the people asking im fine it did not evan hurt till they put the stiches in and started poking it thank you for you concern thow have a good day or night

So the Japanese kit is a slime palette, so it's intended for the slime to be divided and fill multiple slots to give you lots of variations, so they get an A+ on the container for me.

It's a gimmick tactic. When the packaging is bigger it looks like more stuff for your money a lot of companies do it to try and trick you.
A big box grabs your attention on the shelf
In some cases I understand how they need to space things out so stuff doesn't break. But there been plenty of times when you can hear all the junk just sliding around in the box
True that bigger packages look like they give you more and bigger boxes grab more attention on shelf! But-coming from someone who works as a graphic designer for products, it's also about the actual space you own on the shelf, as a brand! The more space you own, the less space for other brands to buy up. It's logical, but also a cultural thing for sure. For example, in China they wanted one of our products in a half ounce size. Half ounce. Not in a blister, but in a tiny little bottle. I designed the label for that thing; it's about 3/4" x 3 1/2". Barely has room for a barcode much less the information we need to have on the product...
Slime kits always end up being trash 😭 Interested to see which one is less... trashy!

The trick is making your own salty baking soda water then just thicking and kneading if it's too hard add oils slowly.
@@melissawardjohns220 When I was younger, one of my favorite ways to make a play dough like substance was with flour and kool aid! The kool aid made it smell amazing and gave it a really cool color!
I know one but it's expensive. Top quality though.
Or you can look up how to make your own.
@@baileyevans1735 my mom used baking soda to fix the stickiness and it worked. It absorbs the left over liguid...and I think the tap water may have used TO MUCH water...less is better. Adding the water SLOWLY is even better.

Yeah, Japan as a whole has a culture based on perfection and expectation, so if they feel like their products can be improved, they’ll do it. Perfectionism isn’t always a good thing, since it tends to put HUGE amounts of pressure on people, but putting in that extra mile never hurts.

I am a slimer but slime is not only squishy things they are also very fun to play with and has different textures and it only uses a few ingredients depending on what texture you want but the most basic slime only uses 3 ingredients
1. Glue that has PVA
2. Paint or coloring (optional)
3. Activator (you can use Baking soda and contact lens solution or borax disolved in hot water)
And the jelly + slime thing that u said there is a type of slime called Jelly Slime and its very popular when they use clear glue
