A friend and I were walking through the haunted house here and when we walked past one of the creepy figures it started saying our names, which stopped us in our tracks for a moment. Turns out one of our friends worked in the haunted house, saw us enter and decided to give us a little extra scare, lol
Jacob thank you so much for taking the time to stop and talk to my husband and i at enchanted forest. It made our whole day!! Thank you for all the great content you put out, and keep up the good work!
Not going to lie,, I'm not only jealous you got to meet Jacob, but that you went to the park as well. I'm in Florida, and there's no way I'm going to get there anytime soon 😔
Jacob, I’ve followed you on TH-cam since way back when you were quiet and were simply exploring abandoned homes overgrown with weeds, and I’ve commented on many here, but today I’ve finally got to call you out on something that’s been happening a lot more frequently lately. That is, sadly, the way that you pronounce the word “capsule”. There’s NO “H” sound in it! 😂
Thank you for my husbands Cameo last night! He was so excited to hear from you. Today we got great news the diabetic ulcer is shrinking and he will be home in a few days. Thanks for making Charles night. Keep up the great videos.
One of the fountains out in the enchanted forest says the owner used to sit out there and admire his park it was so cute. In that gift shop they have a great book about the history of the park and how the founder built a lot of it himself. I’m so glad that it didn’t burn down
Saving to watch later, but I love it when vloggers come to Oregon and I can see my state through other people's eyes. Enchanted Forest is pure childhood nostalgia for me 🥰
Ah, the Enchanted Forest. Our little Disneyland in Oregon! Edit: I went through that tunnel the first time when I was 8 (I’m 54 now). My grandma squat walked through it right behind me, but she was tiny. I couldn’t do it when I was 8!
@@StreetNoise It was. They used to have cedar chips lining the walkways at The Enchanted Forest, and every time I smell that cedar smell, it takes me back to some great memories! Cheers!
It's an Oregon Adult tradition to regret going through the Alice In Wonderland Tunnel. I'm ecstatic you're covering the Enchanted Forest, this park is special in many ways, and feels so whimsical & a product of another era. Also I adore the bobsled roller coaster, the overzealous banking on the turns is such a hoot, and speeding through the trees is a treat.
@calcrafts I will never go there. In Anaheim there is 2 parks California Adventure and Disneyland is better place happiest place of earth the creator is Walt Disney is amazing creating 2 of the places to go play and on the rides and everything has to offer including the parades too and amazing fireworks and shows including Fantasmic is my favorite of all time seeing magic and heros and villians and also the fireworks
Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater has two potential meanings. The one I heard just the other week pertained to his dismembering his wife and disposing of her remains. As you noted, Fairy Tales can be rather dark.
Another reading (maybe less fun, but definitely more wholesome) is that “keep her” means to provide for her. It’s an old fashioned use of the word, defined: Keep 2. provide for the sustenance of (someone) as in, "he had to keep his large family in the manner he had chosen". If that’s the meaning, he may have just been a poor man with a clever housing solution.
The giant witch head was honestly really awesome. ♥ I agree that a lot of the scenes were super creative and well-done. Thank you for braving weird tunnels and slides for us. : )
I learned recently that Humpty Dumpty was about an English cannon, not an egg dude. Enchanted Forest looks like a great park for families with smaller children. Thanks for the video!
It's really quite simple and complex at the same time. All the horses move in one complete circle at the same amount of time. No matter how many animals there are on the carousel. 🎠 Or how big it is.
Finally, you made it out to our neck of the woods! I first visited Enchanted Forest in 1974. Before haunted house, western town and all the rides. Spent many childhood birthdays there.
Taking the kids in a few weeks! So excited, thank you for the refresher of the park. I haven't been since I was a kid myself but I have the map of the park hanging on my wall.
The "Ice Mountain" roller coaster has some interesting history behind it. It started life as one of those mountain coasters that you go down the hillside and control your speed with a lever. But then they converted it into an actual roller coaster ride, and added the theming. It's a unique coaster.
Hello Jacob. This adventure was great. The puppets remind us of our youth when we had a few. Lots of fun. The Hickory-Dickory Dock Clock how cute! But my favorite was the beautiful fountains. One could spend a lot of time and money at the Enchanted Forest park. Thank you for sharing this with us! From Anaheim California wishing you safe travels. 🤗🚗🚘
I've seen this with both you and Justin Scarred, and you are absolutely right, this place is in a class by itself. And I'm still hoping to see you, Justin and Adam the Woo in the same video, and I will never stop. Also I'm very claustrophobic, and I really felt it when you were going through that tunnel. That's a complete and total nope in my book. And if you think those fairly tales are dark now, you should never read the original Brothers Grimm versions.
I went there for the first time when visiting my dad during fathers day. In one of the shop I was talking to one of the employees and she told me that she used to go there when she was little and now she works there as an older adult and LOVE IT. COOL TRIVA: This park ONLY Shut down ONCE and it was NOT COVID. It's was due to a Winter storm that knocked down a lot of trees and did server damage to the park. During COVID the park was open BUT to only 20 people at any given time. It's also STILL ran by the family. Currently by the Daughters of the person who built it ALL.
it WAS closed due to COVID in 2020 for the first part of the season and then they were able to open it up later on in the season but with limited people allowed in per day, after that in 2021 there was the Ice Storm and they had to ask for donations to keep the park running, you could donate regularly... or you could do what me and my family did which is buy a brick they put in areas around the park with your name on it
My favorite part was you in the Alice in Wonderland tunnel. At 6'4 tall, I would've never attempted it. My hat's off to you! I really want to take my grandnephew who lives in Portland to Enchanted Forest one day. Thanks for all you do!
I remember going to a fairytale park in the 70's with my family. It was called, Storytown. I remember that there was an old west town there and to get to it, you needed to go through this dark, labrynth of a cave that led behind a waterfall and up a cliff. I remember being skittish in the cave because I was expecting things to jump out at me, and at the time I was terrified of haunted stuff like those trailer, walk through, haunted houses that were in carnivals at the time. And I remember completely freaking out when a gunfight broke out in the street of the old west town. It was the first time I had heard or seen a gun and I freaked. I thought the guns were shooting real bullets, and since they were loud, my parents couldn't convince me otherwise. I remember that there was a really fun, relaxing, dragon ride there. It was essentially a train ride through the woods, but instead of a train, it was a big, long, dragon. I don't remember any ot the other rides they had. I also recall that they had fun displays like "Santa's Workshop" or something where you would push a button and all these machines would whir to live and start making toys. I also remember playing in the storybook houses. If I remember correctly, the giant show from Old Mother Hubbard, had a slide on it and you would climb up in the shoe house and slide down.
HEY CARPETBAGGER...YOU MISSED ONE OF THE OLDEST and best Storybook Lands anywhere. It's at the Fresno Zoological Gardens/Redington Park on Highway 99 in Fresno, California. I remember going in the 60's and it was old then. My favorite is the Jack and the Beanstalk slide. You are climbing up the narrow winding stairs on the Beanstalk into the cloudy sky above. When you finally reach the clouds, look straight up and the giant is there, glaring and reaching to grab you. The only escape...winding slide to freedom! Have a great trip east.
Thank you for this. That was so fun. I have been so stressed out. Your videos are helping me to keep calm. So thank you for taking us on your travels. I appreciated you so much!!
The Enchanted Forest is the BEST! I love that the gift shop has all of the old school merch. The owner Roger Tofte is still working at the park. He is in his 90s! I hope you got a chance to see the Danbo Troll before you left Oregon!
Nice to be getting more Oregon content! It’s one of the few areas we have been lacking in content, which is rare since Jacob has been just about everywhere
50:26 I got a kick out of Geppetto talking about how "Pinocchio was a real boy!". Looking at what Pinocchio looked like, I think that the Blue Fairy there was playing a prank on him. Haha! What an amazing little park. Really reminds me a lot of the quirky parks we have here in Europe.
This park is amazing and that haunted house is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Thanks for risking your life in that tunnel, buddy 😂 I could never!
I love this park! I've only been once, but I ran into the owner/founder who happened to be walking around raking up leaves. Made my day!

Oh nice!
Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater has two potential meanings. The one I heard just the other week pertained to his dismembering his wife and disposing of her remains.
As you noted, Fairy Tales can be rather dark.
The earliest version of the rhyme actually has no pumpkin in it at all. He couldn't keeper, so he wacked her in the head and let the mice eat her. 🤐
Another reading (maybe less fun, but definitely more wholesome) is that “keep her” means to provide for her. It’s an old fashioned use of the word, defined: Keep 2. provide for the sustenance of (someone) as in,

I've heard "pumpkin shell" is a euphemism for "chastity belt" So make of that what you will.
😮very dark
