@@ThisIsWheelLife In the low resolution version I thought he was flipping off the camera as well, but in the HIGH resolution version of the video, I can see he's holding the Buddhist hand gesture "Vitarka Mutra" which is what folks sometimes use in the LOTUS position. He also has a shirt wrapped around his head like a turban, so he's either a Buddha incarnation or a Yogi from India. Either way, he's hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have been there so many times and never knew about the museum next to the barnyard..lol thanks for helping discover parts i never thought to look for there
"Painting the Roses Red" is a song featured in Disney's 1951 animated feature film, Alice in Wonderland, sung by the Queen of Hearts' card soldiers (specifically the Ace, Two, and Three of Clubs) when Alice first enters the garden. The cards try to explain to Alice that they are painting the roses red because the Queen likes those and they planted white ones by mistake. Unfortunately for them, the Queen catches on to their ruse due to a single poorly painted rose, and has them beheaded anyway
Kathryn Beumont I have the DVD with outakes from the party with Walt and his daughters and a couple other famous child actors. Quite epic and a privledge to see
Ugh I absolutely love the Enchanted Forest/Water Safari here in NY, it was always my #1 favorite place to go to even though I haven't been there in a while. I'm hoping to go there sometime this year!
I was just trying to describe this place to my bf, I grew up in upstate NY and I remember that freaking little red riding hood thing so vividly bc I was terrified of it as a kid and would scream and cry even going near it 😂 the timing of this video was wild I got to re-live my horror LOL
Your videos are among my very favorites. My 10 year old really loves "traveling" with you. He has a list started of places you have showcased that he wants to see in person. Keep up the great work, please. You bring many much joy!
He only showed the "enchanted forest" part, most guests now go for the "water safari" part. It's extremely popular with people in central NY, I've even heard their ads on the radio in the Albany area and in western Massachusetts. There are also a lot of people who vacation in the Adirondacks for the summer. They only operate in the summer, and most staff are high school or college kids.
This brought back some memories! I used to love the enchanted forest water safari. I was lucky enough to be around when the animatronics were still fully animated. Fun time!
We just took the Grand Kids in AUG. As kids we went almost every year. We took our boys as much as possible to camp and hit the park. It mostly is the same as it was in the 60s and 70s. Train is a little bigger. Great to see you made it.
As a child my parents took us here many times, certainly not the same as it was in the late 50’s early 60’s, sad but I did enjoy Jacob lots of great memories Ty for taking me back🤗
What a great park, well taken care of, great artwork on the buildings and displays. Smaller parks are more enjoyable as you don’t have to wait as long to ride plus they have the classic rides. Nice video!
My girls and I always loved going to amusement parks in the rain. Crowds were always down on those days. Mind you, when we planned the trip, the weather was supposed to be nice. But we almost always ended up with rain, so we just learned to deal with it and had a good time with great memories!
So glad to see you finally made it to enchanted forest! Amazing to see it again! Paul Bunyan used to have a large babe next to him that was stolen many years ago. It still has not been found!
I used to live in Old Forge. Its such lovely town and while working there was ehhhhh - love the park and that town which I called home. My grandfather was the first kid to ever enter this park when it opened
At least in the Disney version (I've actually never read the original story), the cards were painting the roses red because they'd accidentally planted white roses, but the Queen of Hearts prefers her roses red. So out of fear that she would have them beheaded for planting the wrong color, they tried to paint them red, but got caught in the act.
I used to go to camp up near there and every year, the camp would treat us to the Enchanted Forest which I've not been in years! It's full of magic and fantasy. You almost could say that it's like a Junior Disney world or Junior Disneyland! Especially near the pumpkin and Paul Bunyan sculpture.
Thank you for this. I have very old memories of Enchanted Forest from when I was 4 (1957). I'm happy to see that Paul Bunyon is still there and the storybook houses- those I remember, although faintly. Most of the rest I don't. It seems to me that there was a Babe the blue ox. Memories are tricky things. I might be wrong. One other thing- the colors seem brighter somehow, as though color was added or the intensity has been dialed up. But all in all, this has been a little trip to the past for me. Thanks.
I have actually been to this one!! It has been many year's but yeah. Pretty awesome to see. Brings back some memories for sure a blast from the past even haha. Too bad it was rainy but it does cut down on the people. Keep on keeping on!
Enchanted forest, Water Safari, where the fun never stops! That commercial used to play non stop, every Summer. That Paul Bunyan has been there since at least the early 80s. Have a pic of me as a little kid, in front of it.
I remember enchanted forest..they had one open in the 80s and early 90s in chesterton indiana..Family use to take me there alot as a kid. They shut it down eventually..Im 45 now but that bring back old memories.
What in the world was the Child @ 5:19 on the last seat of the train suppose to represent? That was hilarious Jacob. The shooting gallery was neat. The animatronics band reminded me of Chuck E. Cheese with the bears band. Young kids just love these. Wonderful storybook themed Park. Lots to offer to families with younger children especially. The water park looked like it was a lot of fun. I did enjoy this park.
The trick with the shooting gallery is to aim for the lower left of the squares. The "suspect" tree is what we in the Adirondacks call Franken-trees. They're camouflaged cell towers.
That is an interesting family based parks. As an adult when you think back on those nursery rhymes they are pretty creepy and dark. Too bad it was raining and no circus . Keep Safe ❤Keep Well ❤
They shortened the train ride removing the Indian village when they added the saw mill water park in the back. It used to be a round trip, but they built the station by the circus and now it is one way.
This is such a great video and right on time for me as 2 days ago i was going through old pictures and found pics of my family at the one in Ellicott City Maryland in the 1970's.
Absolutely loved this Enchanted Forest. Awesome lots of old characters. The best for me was the Cinderella pumpkin coach and the big Easter egg with the fringed paint. Cool. Oh yes and Alababa and the forty thieves. We had that in the Enchanted Forest Maryland USA ELLICOTT CITY way back in the 70's was a ride with big display in a cave. A lot of the storybook characters and houses and castle from our Enchanted Forest are now just moved a bit down the road to Clark's Farm on route 108 in Ellicott City Maryland USA. You should try to visit in the spring or early fall. They restored many of the items and it is awesome. Love you. You seriously make my day and bring back my childhood. Thanks. Peace and be safe. Old Enchanted Forest was on route 40 Baltimore National Pike Ellicott City Maryland. Now some of the things are restored and moved to Clark's Farm on route 108 in Ellicott City Maryland only a few minutes down the road. Nice bed and breakfast across the street you and your family could stay at for a night. Never been but heard it is nice. Take care.😊🐀🐀🐀 I have been to the farm it is wonderful but not the bed and breakfast across the street.
Yay for another fun episode from a vintage attraction in New York. Very cool stuff, Mr. Jacob. Because of you, we all benefit from your interesting and educational experiences. Thank You, Mr. Carpetbagger! Cheers from Old Highway 66!
I had to look up the meaning behind Mary, Mary Quite Contrary. Apparently the rhyme might be a reference to Queen Bloody Mary of England and the conflict between Catholics and Protestants, with the maids perhaps being a reference to the execution of Lady Jane Grey, the mass executions of Protestants - or to Mary's false pregnancies. That's very dark for a children's rhyme.
Hey Carpetbagger! When you head over to Oregon's Enchanted Forest, take the extra drive to see the Albany, Oregon carousel. It has amazing hand carved animals!
I grew up going here every summer as a kid, and worked as a lifeguard when I was a teenager. When I saw the Lake George video I was hoping you'd make it to EFWS. Such a great place.
I wonder who the sculptor was for all the storybook figures and structures there? They seem much more elaborate, creative and whimsical than the usual standard fare.
Looks like a very fun take. I wanted to also share the great time my best friend and I had at z Southwicks zoo in Mendon Massachusetts. We don’t live far from it and it’s got a lot of great animal exhibits and attractions. You should come up my way and have a wild adventure at this zoo. I’ll be there next Saturday.
Love your videos Jacob. The Mad Hatter character idea came to Lewis Carroll in the 1800's when hats were manufactured using mercury and the hat workers eventually became neurologically disturbed sometimes violent from mercury poisoning
“Hey you all” can only mean one thing, fun with The Carpetbagger x
Having a rough morning but that kid on the last car of the train just gave me a goood laugh. So random!!! Lol
Lmfaooooooo I just seen him and hollered. I love him
😂😂😂😂😂 what a funny lil dude
As soon as I saw that I immediately went to look for a comment about him!
I thought he was giving the finger lol

Growing up in Utica, going to enchanted forest and Sylvan beach were some of the greatest memories I have
You are super fun! We love your comments, you have my whole family laughing. You bring so much joy! Thank you.
Many great memories at the Enchanted Forest from my childhood, thanks for this video!!
i have been there so many times and never knew about the museum next to the barnyard..lol thanks for helping discover parts i never thought to look for there
Enchanted Forest in Oregon is calling your name!!!!! Quick before the season is over!!
“Enchanted Forest Water Safari!!! Where the fun never stops!!” (Dun dun) this is my childhood!

I applaud the vision of the person who repurposed the Chuck E Go Round seats to make 3 Blind Mice. #Genius
Agreed!

The one in Oregon is dope. Used to go there a lot as a kid when I would visit my grandparents up there..
Thanks for all of you’re videos Jake they make me feel better
Your videos are among my very favorites. My 10 year old really loves "traveling" with you. He has a list started of places you have showcased that he wants to see in person.

You really have to wonder how places like this keep the doors open
It’s one of the biggest water parks in the north east. People don’t really go there for “Enchanted Forest” part. But I always enjoyed it as a kid.

You didnt really listen did you. Its the largest water theme park in NYS and again has a whole water park attached.
They are breaking attendance records every year.
@@LderuddereI remember staying in the hotel across the street and a couple said they came from Ohio to visit the enchanted forest
I’m enjoying these New York Theme Park Videos!

as someone who worked there those things creepy af

I always have at least one purposeful trip like that per year
So glad to see you finally made it to enchanted forest! Amazing to see it again! Paul Bunyan used to have a large babe next to him that was stolen many years ago. It still has not been found!
The big arch at the very front with the sign is actually from the 1963 NYs worlds fair. A lot of history here.
Used to go here as a kid, so much fun and good memories. I kept hoping you would go somewhere I've been to. Fan girling right now.
I used to live in Old Forge. Its such lovely town and while working there was ehhhhh - love the park and that town which I called home. My grandfather was the first kid to ever enter this park when it opened
this reminds me of fairy tale forest in oak ridge, new jersey! one of my favorite places to go as a kid

Those Chuck E. Cheese 3 blind mice made me laugh out loud thank you 😂🐀
Out here in Oregon just south of Portland in Turner we have our Enchanted Forest and it's just as off the wall as the rest but a lot of fun.
That is a beautiful area in the Aidarondaks❤ What unpleasant nursery Ryhmes😮
I was born in oregon and the enchanted forest there was a big summer place to go

I was here a few times many many years ago when I was just young. Fun place to visit for the entire family!! I remember the bumper stickers.
That kid on my back of the train is my new idol
very well kept place. .....the kid on the train tho...OMG...TOO FUNNY!
So cool to see this! We live close by and used to take our kids here all the time when they were little ! Great nostalgia! 👍
Showing the history of the place is so cool. Not many places do that.
Loved it. Don't comment much but always watch.
Got my first postcard from you, thanks sir, safe travels!!
In the 60s they had an Indian Village. Stage Coach. Horses. Cow Boys walking around. The Sheriff has always been asleep in the cell.
They shortened the train ride removing the Indian village when they added the saw mill water park in the back. It used to be a round trip, but they built the station by the circus and now it is one way.
The one liners you come out with Jacob are classic 👌 the narrating is brilliant and funny top job 👏
We had a cabin in Eagle Bay and Enchanted Forest and Paul Bunyan were always passed by on the way
I love that you came to my neck of the woods and giving our little area some attention.
Can’t wait till you visit Enchanted Forest in Salem, Oregon! It’s my favorite place, you’ll dig it!
It's a pleasure to see you in NY! You've visited 3 of my childhood parks!

wow lots of things to see do got rain on too
It was so cool to relive all this! So many good memories going through the fairy tales section. You had me laughing so hard 😂 new sub!
The kid at 5:24 is hilarious
You can tell hes not a local, Ive never heard it just called Enchanted Forest Water Safari, Without someone screaming " WHere the fun never stops"
My neck of the woods!!
I use to live right down the street from there.
This place looks wonderful!
Thanks for sharing so much adventures and fun cross America.
5:24: The kid in the last car of the train. What?! Also, that was just random! 🤣🤣🤣
Very cool. I'm intrigued by the fact you can hear the Grateful Dead playing over the pa between the petting zoo and the museum.

i grew up going to the enchanted forest in Oregon!!!!
I live about an hour away I went there during the summer and I went with my school a few years ago
When you stumbled on those animatronic musicians! WOW! Shame they don't work.
You should come to the Enchanted Forest in Salem, OR. It's so horribly amazing. I'll give you the tour.
Hey Jacob I love your videos, I was wondering if you had an advice for a veteran trying to do the same kind of thing.
You're starting to inspire me carpetbagger. I want to go check out The Enchanted Forest here in Oregon with my daughter.
Great Video Jacob
Omg 5:23 that kid doing 😂😂
Welcome to upstate NY!
Omg this is like an hour from where I live. I totally thought it was closed.
I believe they didn't open last year because of covid, but they were able to open this year
So beautiful very wonderful nice park well taken care of thanks for sharing your trips love Mary ❤️💞❤️💕💝
