    The most exciting part about this is that the gen 2 Fuel M12 stuff is going to be cheap now, and those tools are really just so good that the next gen stuff just isn't necessary for what I use them for. The current generation M12 stuff is just the sweet spot. Can't wait to load up at 50% off lol

      Right now you can get the gen 2 m12 impact driver and drill set and even a 3/8 stubby impact wrench which sometimes is $200-$329 alone and comes with a cp2.0 and xc 4.0 battery plus a free cp2.0 for $269.00 plus tax on home depot

      @@enthused7591 you’ll be fine with the 3/8 it is just as capable as the 1/2 i saw a video that 3/8 is better than the 1/2 you can always use an adapter to convert it 1/2 too 👍🏽

      Do you already have the M12 Fuel Gen 2 kit? Home Depot has it for $179 with 3 batteries. It's a steal and the performance is within like 6% of these new ones.

    Im glad they released these i hope the drill chuck doesnt lock up, mine did and shes out for the count, cannot get the chuck to release for the life of me

      Grab a small nail punch and hammer and hit the actual chuck jaws back towards the rear of the drill. Do all 3 in a circle, until the chuck releases.

    I can't seem to find the Milwaukee 3530-20 (5:59) any where. All I find is the M12 3453-20. Is the model 3530-20 discontinued ??

    When i bought this kit i was very excited and started to drill hole like crazy and this happen to me also. The batery started to flash it just need to rest for a while. I am prety sure the HO batery will eleminated this glitch . I ditch my gen3 m18 (keep in my truck if need extra power ) for this kit and i am not desapointed at all they are very nice tools.

    I believe the lights flash also when the battery overheats, so perhaps it isn't the tool that's the limiting factor here.

    The M12 impact driver is amazing I’m not sure if the hammer drill is worth the upgrade but that impact driver is!!

      I've been reading some people saying they're having over-heating issues with the gen 3 m12 impact driver. Have you experienced that at all with yours?

    Wow! Nice upgrades! For me, though, the "old" versions are working just fine - I only use them to 20% of their potential most of the time anyway. I do have the surge impact driver which works just fine driving screws, but it doesn't work so well to loosen lug nuts (okay, it can't loosen them at all!) but then again it wasn't designed for that. My next purchase will probably be the stubby impact wrench to get me that lug nut loosening torque!

    I use 6ah batteries for power tools and anything smaller for Lights or for a phone charger/ battery bank

    Nice vid as always 👍. Is hammer drill any lighter/smaller than the previous model? It looks more compact as the pervious one.

      At 8:28 you can see that the new drill is at least 1/2" shorter than the prior model.

    The hammer drill overheats. Had a nylon cupped brush cleaning a surface and after 5 minutes the drill locked out on safety with the 4 flashing lights.
    Wouldn’t say it’s an improvement

    Heard they went back to a mechanical clutch for the hammer drill... is it better than the older electromechanical one in the Gen 2?

    That “glitch” is the red link intelligence stopping the tool before it’s damaged, the tool will do it every time it’s overloaded.

      I know what it is, some tools have it active too early when the tool can do so much more before that feature activates. its pretty standard in tool now a days

    I am trying to decide between the dewalt's 20 v or the milwaukee's 12 v, which one should I get? I am trying to get a tool that can work anything around the house and for my car as well.

    The drill is nice, certainly very compact, what I don't like is that it is a tool that generates a lot of heat with very little work and it is uncomfortable to be working with a hot tool in your hand.

    Hey Dave I see the rpms on the gen 2 hammer drill are 1700 and this new gen 3 is 1550. So which one do you recommend for performance and power

      lower RPM is always a bad thing. sometimes it means the tool can have a little bit more torque. id go with the gen 3 since its more compact than the Gen 2

      @@ManCaverTools testing, and doing stupid stuff, are 2 different things....next time stop it a tad before you grind your brand new chuck into the block, that would still be testing, but make more sense wouldnt it?

    It's not a revolution its a minor facelifting... They were also really good in last gen. Higher capacity of battery wont give you more power. It will just run longer. they are delivering same amperage to the device (thats why they have HO batteries). This is electric device not a gasoline engine it does not need to break in to work better...

    I've got the 2551-20 impact driver which is the surge. Great tool but I see this new one has bumped up the torque quite a bit. Are they going to make a new one with the surge option?
    Love the tri-led on the new one. These old eyes like lots of light.
    It seems like Milwaukee is posting 'peak' torque for the 3530-20, 1,500 in-lbs. For the one I've got they post the 'sustained fastening' torque of 450 in-lbs. I wish they would just stick with one number and do away with the advertising fuckery.

      I use M12 all day, every day. Why carry twice the weight, and hold twice the weight above your head, if you don't have to?

      @@procrastinator1842 your a do it yourselfer or an hvac !!! m12 drill dies after making a few holes with a hole saw !! always gets stuck cause the power sucks ! the hammer setting is useless ! the impact is ok if your just hanging pictures on the wall at home again no power no torque no batterlife

      @@almightytrustnobody4136 I'm neither, although I do have an HVAC ticket. You are right though, the current m12 1/2" drill struggles. The rest of the tool line-up works great. This new drill, coupled with the new HO batteries will hopefully do better with a 1" spade for rough ins.
