Put your binding tape under far enough to lower your needle, then put your fabric in. The needle will hold your binding in place and makes it easier to insert your fabric.

Hi, What is your binding width. I have the identical foot for my Brothers & it was a bit fiddley for me too. I was using my own made binding. Another viewer said to lower needle & I thought maybe starching the end when I make it could help. Mine has measurements on the adjuster but for the life of me I don't see any correlation to binding width in inches or in cm for that measurement. The total width that seemed the best when adjustment was fully open is near 1-3/4" then of course folded it's close to half of that. Thanks for informing me of the width you used.

I bought one of these for my Singer 301A, it constantly twists the binding, warping the binding. The only way I've been to apply store bought binding is by using stick washable glue on both sides, ironing it down and the sewing it. My question is does this tool need to be used on straight grain binding and not on bias grain binding? I noticed in this video that it also twisted slightly too. Thanks !
