So hard to pick just one. I grew up with an all-purpose foot and a button hole foot. In the last 15 years (over 70 now), I finally got a walking foot (so, so great for knits as I wouldn't buy stretch fabric because my regular foot stretched it all over the place), as well as just general sewing. It feeds any fabric so evenly that you get great results. Then I purchased a presser foot kit with many feet and find I use the edge foot and overcast foot the most. However, I am learning as I go and mastering the rolled hem foot would be very rewarding as well. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us -- love learning about sewing even tho it's been a lifetime already!
Rolled Hem and the edge foot are definitely my favorite... I received a bundle package of 32 presser feet for Christmas.. cant wait to try them and see if my sewing improves :)
Wonderful to hear! thank you for watching 😊 And before youtube we did have to rely on the skills that our family knew..Which makes the knowledge they passed down even more valuable.
I have not used any of these presser feet but I will very soon, I can't wait to try the walking foot, that one I have. The Hemming feet I will need to purchase. Thank you Delilah for this tutorial.
The rolled hem presser foot has got to be my favorite. I’ve been seeing for years but never tried this foot. After your video, I can’t wait to try it!! Looks like such a time saver and even a joy to use. Thanks for posting this video!😊
What you refer to as The edge stitch I know as a stitch in the ditch foot. I love how you use it! I can't wait to try it out! My mind is blown. I have 50 feet from a kit I bought. I love finding new ways to use the feet, they make sewing so much easier! Thank you for the video!
love my edge foot . I use it for stitching in the ditch when quilting, and for joining pieces of batting with a zigzag stitch but I have never used it to hem close to the edge like this! Will definitely try it.I also love my 1/4in foot but I use one without the guide - I just use the edge of the foot on the edge of the fabric. Thank you for this video.
Thank you so much for this. I grew up with 2 feet, the all purpose and the zipper foot. I know more existed because I inherited a bunch of mysterious feet from my grandmother. Now, I'm getting back into sewing after about 20 years and I'm very excited to explore all the feet I never knew about so this is a very timely tutorial
Thanks so much for this video! I think I have that rolled hemming foot but for my elderly but very functional PFAFF 1222E! She is a pretty old girl, I purchased her in 1977 when I sewed my own clothing and designs for a small boutique in the town I lived in.. Fast forward to the pandemic and here I am at it again! I noticed you are sewing on a BabyLock! Which model do you have and do you love it? Eventually, I will have to replace my Pfaff or at least move her down to be my backup....so I might as well start my shopping journey..so I don't get caught with my knickers down...
I just started sewing and am using a vintage machine. Not sure if it’s me or the machine but the material always pulls to the left as it goes through. Is that something the edger foot could help with?
on your first example of using the walking foot for the knit hems, what stitch did you use? That looks like a great way to hem knits without overstitch!
@@connie6690I must find a twin needle tutorial because I have never managed to get it to work. I end up with knots and have to spend hours freeing the machine (slight exaggeration but you get the drift) but I really love the idea. My next challenge so thank you for mentioning 🙏
I love your take on the edge foot. Never thought of using it like that. I have tried the rolled hem foot a couple of times with varied success. Will try your method for sure. But I have a question. Can you turn corners with the rolled hem foot or do you need to start each new side separately? Thanks in advance.😊
Hello, do you happen to know the no brand sewing machine foot sets that come in 16, 32, and 42 feet per box? Are they okay to use or are they bad quality feet? Is it okay to buy them, or would you recommend buying branded ones? If branded ones are better, which one is better, Singer or Janome? Thank you.
I am brand new at this and was thinking about investing in a kit of 32 feet. Do you think this is wise and will make things easy as I progress or do you think it is better to buy one at a time as I learn how to use them? Yeah, I do have a Y chromosome, but I need the best advice on this!

yes...there is always something new to learn no matter how long you have been sewing
I just started sewing again after I retired. All the accessories pressure feet amazed me. I enjoyed learning about all of these.
congrats on retiring and having more time to sew! i can't wait until that day comes for me! i'm glad the video helped out a little!
I'm definitely going to practice with my different sewing feet
I had an amazing Pfaff in the early 1970s that had a built in walking foot. It was the best machine ever.
Oh that would be neat to see!
You are too funny! I promise we won't call the sewing police on you... Thanks for all the good info!
Hahah. Thank you!
I like to use the walking foot when sewing multiple layers
Rolled Hem and the edge foot are definitely my favorite... I received a bundle package of 32 presser feet for Christmas.. cant wait to try them and see if my sewing improves :)
Yes’ I think you will be happy with the results!
Wonderful use of presser feet. I need to try these now. Thanks!

Thank you for watching!
I am binge watching you.Every since I saw your first video today. No one has taught me more about sewing ,than my late Mom. Love your channel
Wonderful to hear! thank you for watching 😊 And before youtube we did have to rely on the skills that our family knew..Which makes the knowledge they passed down even more valuable.
Thank you for this video.
Glad it was helpful!
I have a lot of feet for my sewing machine and one of my goals for 2022 is to learn how to use them.
Yes they really to give a nice finish 😊
This was such a good video. I was always afraid of the walking foot....now I leave it on most times 😊
Same here!
Great video! Thank you so much for this!!!
You’re welcome!
So very helpful
I'm so glad!
Great tip about the 1/4 foot about round edges. I think I have an edge foot too
Glad it was helpful!...curves are harder to maintain a seem allowance so that foot makes it a lot easier.
I have not used any of these presser feet but I will very soon, I can't wait to try the walking foot, that one I have. The Hemming feet I will need to purchase. Thank you Delilah for this tutorial.
I’m glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching
You tutorial was very informative. I’m going to try them all.

Yes! The other video explained that foot as a stitch in the ditch…I like it better my way!

hi, i have the baby lock soprano! Very lovely machine!
I just brought a narrow edge zipper foot.....I have to see what it does
oh I can't wait for you to try it out!
I serger the ends then I used a straight stitch when I folded in the fabric to hem
Try using a twin needle. It gives a nice finish on knits without a serger.

I've broken so mnay needles changing to the foot with the little hole!
yes I use to do that all the time!
Regarding the walking foot, what settings do you set your machie at?
hi. on my walking foot I keep the settings the same...there are some occasions that I change the stitch length to a 3
Question Can I zigzag stich with the walking foot?
Yes, i am able to zig zag with mine.

I have not been able to turn corners with it...i'm not that good yet!
Oops. I forgot, when hemming a knt garment, what sewing machine settings do you use to achieve that pretty design on the underneath of the garment.
I think you are referring to when I surged the edge then folded it over and used the walking foot on my sewing machine?

Hello, I have bought the no brand ones and they work well. 😊
Kya ye kisi bhi machine m chal jate h?😮
Please reply me

hi! i think the 32 feet would be a great investment...I'm the type that love learning new things and new techniques!
I need more practice using the rolled hem foot.
Yes just keep practicing because it does work 😊
I guess I need more practice using the rolled hem foot.
dont' give up!
What you are calling an edger I call a ditch foot.
