I agree the Justice system is so broken. It’s not there for the victims to get Justice, but it does a great job at protecting the criminals. The same kind of case in the states would have them on death row.

I can't believe the paltry sentences serious violent offenders get in Canada

To many people and in my opinion believe, any person who takes more than 1 life should be given the death penalty. They do not deserve to lead a life as they have taken the lives of innocent people. Too many people in government and other associations believe in rehabilitation which does not work when you are a murderer. So angry 😡

I was wondering if Crime Beat could do an episode on the Emanuel Jaques case and an update on those horrendous, vile monsters who took that sweet little boys life.
Lest we forget. RIP sweet Emanuel. 💛

Emanuel shined my dad’s shoes a few times back in the 70s and to this day, he still vividly remembers him 😢 l believe one of the scumbags that took his life is still burning hell (he passed some years ago), but I’m not too sure about the others. I really hope Crime Beat covers this story 🙏🏼

Justice for Jassi. I remember this story. On the news and a number of W5 and possibly Fifth Estate news pieces. How the uncle, mom, and family members got away with it is beyond me? Kudos to the Principal, and school teachers, friends who continued to fight for justice. There were lengthy interviews and news pieces with these interviews.

I do not agree with the description 'crime of passion'. This was a vicious crime perpetrated by an evil possessive control freak. Not passionate: feral.

Unjustified to give them no parole? They should of thought of that before they selfishly took someone else’s life. Honestly if the jails weren’t so comfortable perhaps people wouldn’t want to end up there? Give them just enough to survive pile 5 guys in one cell and leave em there with one toilet to share. If they in there for murder they don’t get to leave their cell unless under continuous surveillance and only for 30min a day. Why do they get a chance to do better when yas don’t even offer the free schooling to the civil people but you will give it to criminals? Give them a bed and hot food everyday when people are losing their homes and can’t feed their families. And what’s even more disgusting is we are paying for the sick perps to eat with OUR taxes

That's what they do in the US, has murder stopped? no.
The US has the highest level of reoffenders in the World, we have one of the lowest.

NONE of these outcomes looks like justice to me.
Our legal system needs an overhaul. How can you let a multiple murderer go free when he refuses to even apologize? This is giving the middle finger to all Canadians and ridicules our efforts to keep criminals away from society.
Whomever was involved in these decisions should be forced to rewrite the legislation that instructed their decision to free a man who will undoubtedly be back in the system in no time at all. Why do people have to keep dying??

All events, so terrible, so sad, so unnecessary, just for someones own reason to end their lives.

Im going to just go ahead and say this....
Im Australian and PERSONALLY Australia, UK, and Canada have the most PATHETIC justice systems, there is no justice at all, concurrent sentences should NOT be allowed when murder or a crime against a child is involved, why are these fvckers getting parole after 25yrs with multiple murders ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
    Life should mean LIFE.
R.I.P to each and every victim in this upload ❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️🕊❤️
