Random but the guy at the beginning who tried to help Davros is my favorite 5 minute character. He’s just so brave and compassionate even when he knew he was going to die. For some reason he left an impression that other minor characters didn’t.

What I truly love about this episode are the call backs to classic Who. And of course Missy's reaction to Skaro being back. You can tell things are bad when The Master/Missy is scared.
Thats true, I love that too. However, the call backs are only good because the s riot is so well written and performed. Theres a really good story here that is enhanced by the call backs.

In the classic show, the 4th Doctor met Davros, this is where he was offered the choice to exterminate all the Daleks before they were fully developed, and this is when he made the comparison with killing a little child destined to be the worst man possible, we could hear his speech in this episode
A Doctor Two Who week is an unexpected surprise! A lot of good episodes this season!
Twelve is My Doctor. I love all the doctors. but Twelve stole my heart in the first four episodes of season 8. And also Last Christmas. season 9 is my favorite season of his, although I love season 10 as well!

Season 10 is one of the best of the entire show 🔥🔥.
There's an interview with Moffat (can't find it) where he says that in the Classic series, the Master would be definitively killed off, only to reappear later with no other explanation than "I escaped". Moffat says, "Works for me! Supervillains don't die, do they?"
Love how Clara (who may owe her multiple existences across time and space to Missy) is able to use her schoolteacher voice to get both Time Lady and Time Lord to do what she wants.
To be fair though, Moffat does wrote a proper explanation that forms part of the plot of this story. So its not totally unexplained.
Also fun fact, Peter Capaldi is really playing the electric guitar. He used to be part of a rock band with Craig Ferguson from the late late show.

Twice a week works really well with this season. Lots of episodes that are meant to go together storywise.
This season has like 6 of my favorite episodes of the entire series if not more, but apparently there are people who don't like this season very much.

Not my fave season by any means but you're reactions will make it more bearable to re visit lol. I like the scene where davros plays audio clips of past doctors talking to davros for a bit of fan service.
'if you had created a virus in you're laboratory..' 4th dr - genesis of the daleks
'I'm not here as you're prisoner davros!..' 5th dr - resurrection of the daleks
'..unimaginable power! unlimited rice pudding! ect ect!' 7th dr - remembrance of the daleks
'..everything we saw, everything we lost...' 10th dr - the stolen earth
'But did you bother to tell any1 they might be eating there own relatives?' 6th dr - revelation of the daleks
Then of course another clip of the 4th dr from genesis of the daleks saying the famous speach about if some1 knew a child would grow up evil could you kill that child. which cleverly ties into this story.

You're gonna LOVE this series, I know it's quite divisive for some people but I think this is one of the strongest series openers and Missy is brilliant, as per, as is the Doctor, as is Clara! So much fun, so tense, so many great moments. Mad to think you're already at season 9 but exciting for sure! Also, the pre-season mini episode you were supposed to watch is the series 9 prologue, adds a bit more context before this episode
I’d love to know why Davros only remembers this meeting as a child in series 9 for some reason and not in any other appearance at all where he’s faced the Doctor, or man with blue box and screwdriver.

@@cyberdalek615 series 10 was boring as all hell honestly even aspects of this season start to turn me off then season 11 onwards the writing was just terrible and still very boring and it just didn't feel like doctor who any more
I watched every episode live since 2005 season 12 I missed completely doesn't even realize it was on and I haven't watched new episodes since I'm glad some people still enjoy the show but to me the show is just bad now.
although I have hope again with rtd returning hopefully it will grow a beard again sometime after the centenary ends
Hmm I'd say season 12 is where the show jumps the shark. Season 11 is meh, but I loved season 10.
