Maybe once they see Final Fantasy is getting more and more popular thanks to XVI and Reunion, and since Strangers of Paradise basically sets up Dissidia with a new backstory we could get a sequel in the form of Dissidia.

To this day I'm impressed that Square Enix went to the effort of making a competent and actually somewhat interesting storyline and lore backdrop for a crossover fighting game. Everyone's got a fair amount of spotlight and every character feels in line with how they are from the original. Like, they don't feel like hollow caricatures but the actual guys taken from their respective games. This cutscene is the culmination of that; the oldest FF and the newest FF (at the time) facing off, and as a fan of both there was no clear option to root for.
The context that Lightning in this canon game is fighting as a l'cie is insane. She's on a time limit before she turns into a mindless zombie monster never to see her party again and utilizes her power and magic to fight regardless. Such a badass XIII is soooo good.
Agree though she was a bit out of her depth here against Warrior of Light lol. Lightning and the others died to the army and Warrior survived and was still able to fight after they fell.
The only thing that irked me about WoL was his lack of critical thinking and no suspicion to the nature and purpose of the "war". WoL: "Uh actually, we're here to make the war end." Me: Yeah and the sky is blue and water is wet.
Jecht is amazing. He really doesn't even need that insta HP block attack when his normal charged attacks go through everything even most other HP attacks. Not even mentioning him having the best bravery to HP combo attacks in the game
I miss playing this game so much. I played the shit out of this game in middle and high school and it's still one of my favorite fighting games. I hope one day we can get a remake or a remaster of this game so we can experience this again. The Dissidia series is an amazing fighting game series that needs more attention.

Wait I've been playing this beautiful game on Retroarch at supposedly 4k 60fps but this fluidity feels way different and I don't believe it's just because I'm watching on a smaller screen. Also what's up with that 2D layout? Definitely a mod of some sort. Could you tell me what you did?
I'm enjoying it, definally deserves a remake like Crisis Core (With the same VAs). Regarding gameplay, it feels that this is on the shorter side so far for 012. Story > Few Battles > finish chapter > repeat. Game is more story driven and focused on 100% completionist if you want to get the most out of it.

I dunno what made them not port this game after all these years, but since Crisis Core got remastered and on modern consoles from the whole Gackt copyright, I really wish this would get the treatment. Its just so fun especially with the references in the EX mode. It would make up for how disappointing NT was. Amazing graphics, got every voice actor back including juggernauts like Laura Bailey and Troy Baker, but the gameplay is dull and boring.
The concept of 3v3 isn’t bad in fact it could’ve been phenomenal buuuuuut unfortunately they didn’t execute it properly in that game alongside the unnecessary online components that felt forced.
Watching this scene over just makes me mad at NT. It could have been so great but they fell into the live service trap and stripped dissidia of everything that made it so impactful.
dissidia 012 MIGHT still be the GOAT fighter for me. smash ultimate is either 1st or 2nd right now imo. dissidia did freeform 3d fighting right for the first time. if dissidia had ultimate's quality and quantity roster there wouldnt be any need for another fighter imo. smash needs more speed and impact. it also needs better characters and more creative fighting styles like ultimecia and ff2 emperor's. the only thing dissidia would need are more characters from other francises.
this scene is one of the best ones in the game i dont get the hate for lightning as a character is it the same ol angry incel horseshit about female MCs or is she really that bad in her trilogy? cause i couldnt get past the first act in 13 i got so bored. lightning was actually good. they wrote the characters like they should have been 40 hours in and it was impossible to care about anything that waa going on
I really wish this game could be playable on ps4 and ps5 i really miss this game so much used to play on my psp back in middle school. I just prefer this rather than the dissidia NT 🥲 no offense

I like to imagine it was just copies of souls or it makes no sense that several main protagonists die, several before their sequels

Play this game religiously back then with Cloud, Sephiroth, and Jetch. Jetch is surprisingly good in here compare to the original game.
