  • The Pittsburgh Penguins did something awesome tonight to honor the 1,000 game of one of their most celebrated players - Evegeni Malkin. We'll talk that, and cover the Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawk game on today's NHL hockey video!

The thing I love about NHL teams, is that they often will work together to create a memorable moment that celebrates an achievement or brings fans together to uplift spirits. It's never malicious and both teams share the same love. Really sweet of the Penguins to show that playful spirit for a retired player.

I seriously doubt that Mr. Berard enjoyed this ceremony for the wreckless stick-swinging Slovakian that ended his promising NHL career, but I digress.
I actually cheered for Mr. Hossa for his third straight trip to the Cup Finals after losing his first two with Pittsburgh and Detroit, when he arrived in Chicago and they went to the finals I had hoped that this player did not become the only NHL player to play in three straight losing Cup Finals with three different teams, well, fortunately, he did not.
    Synchronized swimmers, too funny.
Mr. "Geno" Malkin is one of my favorite Russian players and being on the Penguins with Mr. Crosby is insane, and Sid got his team to do this for Geno, outstanding.
Mr. Wright's development is stunted by his team, according to a Seattle Kraken youtuber fan.
    Excellent video, thanks for posting.

I've been watching hockey this season for the first time in years thanks to Hulu and the Wings looking decent. Catching up on where a lot of the players who were big stars during the Wings' glory years are now, and seeing them over 1000 games and points and in their mid-thirties has me feeling old. And I already felt old. And I'm younger than them at 32. I hate time.

He was pushed too fast, too soon and had no Defense help from his team. Thankfully he is back with the Ice Hogs where he shined, and once he comes out of IR from a pulled HAMstring (Hogs, Hamstring, LOL) he will be able to get his head back in the game, especially with the teams Defense actually helping defend the goal this year. On the bright side, he went from a last place team, to a team that is 3 points out of first in the conference. He also has Wells, Weeks and Stauber to help him out, all three have been doing really good this year. Stauber blocked 33 out of 36 in the last game that was won 4-3 in OT by the Hogs.

The probably worst player Minnesota had on the ice for missed connections and general fuckups ties the game late in the 3rd and then feeds Goligoski the overtime winner. How the hell does that even happen in real life.

In my opinion The NHL would receive serious backlash for bridging a deal that would allow NHL players develop in the KHL. With Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and China making up the KHL and it being "polar opposites" in terms of politics it would be hard to come to agreements to allow current players to Join the KHL. And Although Russia markets some of the best talent in the game; its not a particularly a friendly place for foreigners currently. Maybe in 5 or 10 years when the Ukrainian conflict subsides it may be a fair. but not currently.
furthermore I find the AHL a good place for players in North America to Develop. I believe the CHL should be for staged for teenagers who are up to the age of 18.
Additionally anyone older then the age of 18 without a professional contract in place would be able to play in the CHL or other Junior leagues up until the age of 21.
Players with a Professional Contract in place such as Shane Wright would be directly sent to the AHL to develop instead of being sent back to Juniors.
In my opinion sending a player to a multiple different development camps can actually hurt the development of a player rather then improve them such as Patrik Laine.
I am not saying Patrik Laine is a bad player at all. Im saying he could have been a much better player given the right camp.
Another player is the almighty number 1 pick from 2013 Nail Yakupov. with 107 games played and and producing 170 points in the OHL he was slated to be the best only to fail miserably often causing goals rather then converting them, seeing this first hand with the decade of darkness and the Oilers. it was because he was misguided in the early stages of his career; Poor development brought him poor +/- (plus, minus) and even worse confidence causing him to be traded 4 times in 6 years leading him to a very a short stint in the NHL.
