I just got back into Pokemon this past month and I loved the bubble mew (played as a kid but donated the thousands of cards when middle school came and girls didn't really have interest in it ☹ Bet something in there would be worth a lot now! Now I'm 22 and don't care to adjust my interests based on what's "cool"). I want it so bad and almost got it when it was at $80 but couldn't justify spending so much on a card when it felt like a new hobby - now I'm kicking myself! A couple weeks in and it's like a day never passed and I'm just as into Pokemon as I was when I stopped, haha. I hope to find a shop in Asheville where I can play with people and make friends. Maybe work up the nerve to try in a tiny tournament eventually. I hate that it's popping off, I think the art is adorable and want to collect like I used to: whatever Pokemon cards are cute, regardless of their market value lol. Hope I can one day get one, although I don't think I'll play with it anymore like I planned to. Originally when I saw it I wanted to build a deck around it! My cute cards are usually worthless so it doesn't feel wrong to play them casually. Mew, eevee, and vulpix were always my favorites, but I'm seeing now that there are tons of cute new additions to Pokemon. I can't believe how much it's grown since I was a kid, I don't think I could memorize it all if I tried now. Loved the video! Subscribed c: Do you, in your expert opinion, think that if I like the card so much I should just buy it now? Or do you see the price coming down? Or... maybe I just spend way too much on booster packs and rip until I get it c:
Thanks so much for the wonderful comment and sharing your return to Pokémon cards! I also collected as a kid and stopped around middle school when I got into halo and call of duty! Returned around 18 and collected for a bit before getting real heavy into skateboarding and came back in during 2019! It’s awesome when you get to an age where being “cool” doesn’t matter lol I just want to like what I like and idc what anyone thinks. There are plenty of awesome cards out there and real cute ones too! That bubble mew is awesome and I’m glad you love it! Honestly at this price I wouldn’t pick it up, maybe wait for a Black Friday sale and try to scoop up some Paldean Fates if it’s on sale or wait until til the bubble mew drops. Idk if it will return to that price but I feel like it will drop in a couple months! You could also try and trade some other cards for it down the line! If you really really want it, no harm in buying but patience is important, it’s drastic price growth isn’t something that happens regularly and even if you don’t but it now at its current price I doubt it will climb more anytime soon! Thanks again for checking out the channel! Make sure to get ready for Prismatic Evolutions! Gonna be so many awesome cards and the eevee etb promo is super cute!
@@Trevor-TCG Thanks for the thoughtful reply! I skated for a while growing up, too - I could do an ollie about a half inch off the ground and thought I was the sickest person in town for it LOL. I'm (barely) holding off on the bubble mew now, but it will be mine one day, mark my words. Patience has never been my strong suit and I fear that may become problematic with this new hobby. I can't wait to see your videos on the prismatic evolutions! If I can snag an eevee etb I will, but I didn't realize just how cutthroat things were as far as getting your hands on popular product goes. If I can't, I'll just buy whatever singles catch my eye and live vicariously through you when I watch your videos on the release hehe.
@@hiimem Right on! I've always loved skating but too hold now it hurts me LOL Patience is key, there are always other chances to buy cards and I think you'll have time to get bubble mew, Give it like 2 months and I feel itll be a good price again! And with product, sets like this eevee one will be super hyped up but pokemon will print alot. It's going to be hard to secure a pre order but im sure youll find some! again, patience but this is deff a set to jump on when you see a preorder for a good price! I doubt it wil ever sell under msrp especially considering the attention the last eevee set got! (Evolving Skies)
@trevortcg re: penny, have you seen any Trainer cards appreciate in value? Penny is already playable, so wont see a boost from that. In my experience Trainers are influenced by playability/waifu factors from the get go, and then just decline. Look at Miriam, Iono, Carmine, etc. it is still a cool card to pick up, which I did, together with Arven and Nemona with matching pokeballs in the middle, but i wouldnt expect any of these to appreciate
That’s a fair point, I do see some older trainers appreciate in value but I guess penny isn’t too popular. If you look back at SM era or even XY some of the full art trainers have done great and gone up at points but I understand the argument here. It’s also a different era where the cards are easily accessible and possibly as popular as they will be
I really feel the Clive SIR from Paldean Fates is crazy underrated. 9 trainers and 10 pokemon all on a single card, and one of them is Lechonk? Definitely a sleeper
Haha i actually forgot about that one! A lot of people were hyped on it during release, maybe it will bounce back and get some love! Any card with Lechonk deserves value!
Love the Koraidon abd Miraidon and got those a few months ago for £36 for both of them. Gardevoir is my next pickup. The top 3 from PF are great cards. Paradox Rift is definitely a big sleeper set - If people can't get in on Surging Sparks for a fair price, I'd definitely be looking at picking up Paradox for under retail instead.
Nice! I still need miraidon but hoping to get it soon! I think I’m only missing that and Arven from SV SIRs PAF Gardevoir and PAR Roaring Moon are next up for me. I think Paradox is super slept on and an amazing pick up. I’ve grabbed a few booster boxes and I might scoop more before the end of the year
@@Trevor-TCG yes, me too. I think you're right about Roaring Moon. I also like the Scream Tail ETB promo from Paradox too. The PC stamped version is still pretty affordable.
I love miraidon more of the two but I own psa 10’s of both. I love the scarlet and violet era and have from the game release. Even though the game performed roughly.
I think I enjoyed SWSH game more then SV game but it was still good and some of the Pokémon were awesome! I might hope back into it and play the DLC soon. Those are awesome cards to have in a 10 and I think they’re probably at a good price right now!
They’re cool cards! Personally not my thing, I wouldn’t go out of way for them but there’s a market for it. Lots of people prefer Japanese and these being a limited art promo it’s a pro forsure
exactly, if someone is usually surprised why this card is going up in value or so, and their prediction is mostly wrong. Definitely a questionable source to get good advice from.
Yeah fan favourite is super important! All the best sets are always ones with popular chase Pokémon! I think that’s why Mew is so valuable right now but still feel like Gardevoir and Charizard are very popular too!
Thanks for commenting! I actually didn’t even realize I don’t have a banner up lol I’m not really in a position to pay for design right now but hmu on Instagram or email me: Trevortcg.yt@gmail.com and we can talk about future design work
Haha it’s not OK for greninja to be over $300 but I understand it more consider tougher pull rate and it’s been expensive since release. Mew only just got expensive, it’s more so the irregular price shift that is questionable. It it was $160 from the get go this price would be whatever
I think some of the SIRs from Temporal Forces are heavily undervalued right now. The pokemon are not the most popular which I understand, but the artwork and the pull rates alone should help bring the value up on cards like Iron Leaves, Iron Crown, and even Morty's Conviction. I feel like these should all be at least around $100 each but they have dropped a lot in value over the last few months. Great video brotha.
The hobby is in a massive bubble right now and I know it will pop soon. Surging sparks and the obese zard is way overpriced. They will come down…soon. 👀
I think so too! This is the time of year where Pokémon floods the market with products. I think December-February we will see some major drops especially in the current market once everyone is focused on the 2025 sets
they are way overvalued, to me the limit was latias and latios gx psa10, i was fine having it becasue pop is about 1k,,, but after that everything will be a psa10 pop 20-30k by 2030, fuck that lol, and i thought peoples were crazy paying 5-8k for those marios/punchos when the pops are soo freaking high, im so glad i bought a gem mint skyridge holo zard and 1st ed base zard mint at lowest in 2022-2023 instead of that junk wax, allready almost doubled from what i paid..,. but yea just give another 2 eras of SIR and its gonna be a circus, about 100 cards that gonna be pops 20-30k XD moonbreon is at what15k? there are still peoples with PALLETS of evolving skies, PALLETS, thousands of peoples have cases of ES this shit is gonna be a pop 40k in the end, hype will slowly fade onto new cards, pops gonna keep getting higher etc,... all very good arguments to say its overvalued

Roaring moon is extremely under valued imo
I think it's my fav SIR so far tbh. Love me some Salamence tho!

The key for 151 are because OG identify with the originals. I don’t even know some of these pokemon. Fan favorite is key!

Bubble mew is the new CoroCoro mew
yeah I think so, It's a real nice card!
Yeaaaaah I got a lot of PR :/ lol. I’m in it for the long haul but I definitely think money is better spent elsewhere, unfortunately
I think it can be better spent elsewhere like 151 but long haul paradox will climb im sure. Just might not be for another 5 years
i have such a good Shiny Mew SIR lol
You should grade it!
It’s ok for Greninja at 317$ but not Mew at 165$ 😒

Sirs are basically alt arts… 🤷♂️ we’ve seen what can happen to some of those!! SV is heating up!!
Oh yeah! The new age alt art. Same idea and almost just as rare! SV era is gonna end on a high note and a lot of these rare cards will go up 🤑
