Great video! One small addition: I learned that Si is also about Remembering. For example: ESFJs love to collect stuff and bring physical memories from their vacations. Their secondary function is about remembering, so souvenirs give them a good feeling (which, being an INFJ, I find super cute).

I am INTJ. My wife is ESFJ. My wife is amazing. She keeps the house running, remembers everyone's birthday (and name) and is my social go-between. She is always, always making sure our family has what we need. She is always super attentive to the needs of our children. She will feed me when I forget to eat. Once per month I agree to go out and do something social with her, so long as it isn't too exciting. Our personalities have clashed, certainly. But we have been deeply in love for over 20 years and others always admire our marriage and relationship. We understand each other's needs. Classic scenario for us: I am in my study typing like a madman. She comes to the door. I glance at her and ignore her. She continues standing there, smiling at me. Eventually I finish my thought and pull off the headphones. "What?" I say. "I made cupcakes," she replies, "would you like one?" She says I have made her smarter and educated her. I handle big decisions for the family, which stress her out. She handles people, which stress me out. And she is always telling me to call my mother.
INTJ woman married to an ESFJ man, with an ESFJ brother, and the last few sentences made me cackle. I’m no contact with my mother, and both of them are going on about how I should talk to my mother. My brother is healthy; my husband is not, but is working on himself right now. My brother and I just had a conversation about exactly why I don’t want to talk to my mother to the point I got frustrated with him, but ultimately he got the point and told me about his point of view saying “you know I’d like everyone to get along but I care more about you than to try and force you to do something you’re uncomfortable with” but my husband is still at the “don’t give up hope everything is great” magical thinking realm and still tries to pressure me into talking to her

I find that I never get very close with high Fe users since I find them to be overwhelming in general, but reminiscing about the past can be quite therapeutic with an ESFJ or ISFJ since we can connect using Si. I’d say I’m pretty consistently acquaintances with the ESFJs in my life, but never really friends.
That is what they do! I try to tell people and they don't believe because these damn websites must be written by teenagers with angst and problems taking a shower often enough so they equate ESFJs with MOMS. It's very frustrating and I believe many ESFJs aren't into MBTI because we crap on them. I am an INTP, Stoic, Neuroscience and that means unlovable times 3. My wife is an ESFJ and it's all love all the time like she's bombarding me day after day affection and cookies and compliments and service. I lay at bed at night with her laying on my chest purring and I have the terrible thought that maybe I have married Jesus Christ in feminine form and I start to sweat. Then I remember three days ago when we were making out and I sigh with relief knowing that even a feminine JC would never have served me in that way.
My best friend is ESFJ. She usually has only the barest idea what I’m on about but she would faithfully listen anyway and by now, decades later, she knows the particular ‘flavour’ of my incomprehensible thoughts vs any other ones, even if she still doesn’t quite follow all of it. 🙂 She taught me that you don’t actually need to understand a person to be their friend. And that the kind of love where you find the other person mysterious and unrelatable in some aspect but you love them anyway without question and without condition has a special kind of sublimity. Highly recommended experience. - INTJ
INTJ: I see why you needed me. Let me see your plans. I think it could use a little change here... oh, and here... that way you can now execute this more properly and seemlessly. Without getting caught. Next time.
My functions are definitely ESFJ, but because I'm autistic, I tend to present like an INFP (strange...) I thought I was INFP for a while, and then I kinda realized my actual type and that it's probably different at the surface because I'm autistic.
Omg I've been having the same thing happen! I thought I was an INFP for years (and I'm not entirely convinced that I'm not), but I'm leaning towards ISFJ or ESFJ now. My functions align pretty much perfectly with ESFJ, but I'm so socially awkward, which makes me unsure about being an ESFJ. I haven't been officially diagnosed with autism, but I feel like I'm on the spectrum. It just doesn't present itself in the "typical" way (like I'm good at picking up social cues and am never blunt, which are traits that are commonly associated with autism). It often presents itself very differently in girls, so that's probably why I've never been diagnosed. I've been diagnosed with OCD and depression, but I've read that these can also be intertwined with autism. Maybe that's why I have so much social awkwardness despite seemingly having ESFJ functions. 🤔
I'm an ESFJ and became a pastor's wife three years ago. There are so many adults and teens in and out of my house most days that I'm going crazy. I am reading a book on boundaries. Is it possible to change mbti? I am often hiding in my room or car to read or listen to you tube. My INTP daughter said I'm turning into her type.😅I've often considered hanging an EBOLA sign on my door. Hubby is an ENTP so I let him answer the phone and door. He's waaayyyyy more extroverted than I am.
Even as an ESFJ, we need downtime otherwise we will burn out too fast. Taking care of yourself is important because you are the one that helps take care of everyone else. My recommendation (this is what I do) is to make a do not disturb sign and give yourself an hour each day away from everyone (I just shut my door). I do 20 minute workout and then I listen to Pastor Rick's sermons/daily devotional and then play ocean sounds on my phone.
K I'm taking notes fr fr because I can't find any ESFJs in real life and I really want to talk to one to see why we're supposed "golden pair" material. -ISTP
How about some of these profiles but less full on?! I'm largely ESFJ but sober of my traits are only +.025 on the side of one or the other. This profile is written from a perspective of all four traits being fully +2!!
I think I've seen this sort of thing before (with like typing characters), I think it has a bit to do with stereotypes of exfps being extremely bubbly, which can be true, but neither type are quite the same as an Fe dom. I mean enfps are pretty easily spotted function wise because Ne is a pretty hard thing to hide and esfp's Se I assume takes the form of impulsiveness (based on stereotypes), but their Se is also good at reading the room so that's where you could mix them up. I'd say if you focus on the contents of what they say you could probably distinguish enfps (Ne jumping all over the place), esfps (Se possibly impulsive, very sensory based) and esfjs (Fe focused on everyone else, collectively making sure everyone's ok). Anyways it reminded me of some people typing a character called Ted Lasso as an enfp when he's quite obviously an esfj, I think people mistake endless positivity for having to come from enfps - as an enfp myself I can say that's not really true.
@@nuisancepenguin5210 I’m married to an ENFP, and her mom is an ESFJ. Both are very bubbly, but in different ways. The ENFP version is about pure optimism of their ideas and in the potential of life, whereas the ESFJ version is for a genuine and heartfelt love for harmony and humanity. My mother-in-law comes across as more “lovely,” where my ENFP comes across as more… whacky (in a VERY good way!) and fun.
Hey, thank you for all your vids, it's well written and entertaining ! I have a question : how can i definitely make a difference between an ESTJ women and an ENTJ women ? I mean, it's easier to type others but i have no idea if i use more ni or si. And everytime i think i might use more Ni, i think "i'm probably biased because entj women are more rare, so it's unlikely", how can i finally know ?
ExTJ share the same first and last functions, but ENTJ have NiSe, and ESTJ have SiNe. Si is about the inner sensory world, while Se is about the external sensory world, so ENTJs will always be doing something new while ESTJs prefer stability and routine. Ni searches for the truth, while Ne stays open minded to possibilities. I personally think Nx will help you determine what type you are more accurately than Sx, but I may be biased as a Nx dom.
Thank you for noting the effect of Ne in our lives. It creates a very interesting combo with a strong Si. Highly organized who is interested in improvement with perfectionism from Ti. I always think of Martha Stewart as the epitome of ESFJ. Very smooth and social who loves creating an empire. Absolute perfectionist who is very interested in society, manners, social gatherings. Also extremely detail oriented and organized.
Nathan, I have a weird question. Why do I feel like P and J are mixed up in the names of introverted types? For example, if INFJ is a judging type, why their dom function is perceiving (Ni), not judging (F or T), shouldn’t the type be named INFP?
infp - extraverted perceiving dominant function (Ne) infj - introverted perceiving dominant function (Ni) extraverted perceiving function= IP and EP extraverted decision making function = IJ and EJ I dont know if this make sense but you can google more on mbti cognitive function
I know, I know, but still Duchess of Cambridge: one can see the Fe so clearly but I can't decide is she still Si dom. Yes she was socially more shy but that has nothing to do with functions. I think she looks like a Fe dom when she speaks with people and everyone comments on the empathy exuding from her. And she is very touched by children's hospice visits. Either way FeSi or SiFe. And I think I can see the effect of more inferior Ti than Ne. Thank you for listening me verbally process here.
Ah, my least favourite type. I (INTJ) can understand them, but find they never really care to understand me, and so I try to keep my distance. Glad to know they're appreciated somewhere.
They're also overbearing, crowd-pleasing, gossipy, generally intolerant of neurodiversity, more interested in mundane events and protocols than reasons or direction, prone to matyrdom and having a victim complex.
No, they share the same cognitive functions as an INTP, just in the opposite order. Although, ESFJs are least compatible with xNTJs, because they share no cognitive functions.

I am an INTP, whom is married to an INTJ, and it seems we’ve had a lot more struggles that with you and your ESFJ. At least you two can learn from each other and not stuck in each other’s blind spots
Your timing is unbelievable! I just created a new character and I think she's an ESFJ--this helps me know how to treat her in vignettes xD
How I spot an ESFJ:
Compare people to my grandmother.
She could have been an ENFJ maybe. She was a beautiful human being, now she's in heaven.
@@slugsarecrunchy Ah yes ENFJs and ESFJs are adorable people! I feel so comfortable in their presence!
@@QuotesArticles I'm infp too!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
@@slugsarecrunchy That’s nice to know my fellow INFP 🙏👍🌟
For me, compare to my mother who is ESFJ. It’s easier to type someone if we know well someone of the same type.
As an INTP... checks out... exact polar opposite from me.
My Nana raised me as a kid, she owned a bed and breakfast, I think she was an ESFJ and I was very lucky to have her teach me as I'm an ISFP.
My boyfriend is an esfj and I'm an infj. Never been so cared for 🥰
That is what they do!
One of my best friends is ESFJ. She is great fun but boy do we miscommunicate. (INTJ.)
- INTJ
@@nurainiarsad7395 I love how you have expressed this.
Waste of time - INTJ
16 personalities being kidnapped and interacting with their kidnapper
INFP and INTP: "Am I really worthy of being kidnapped?"
INTJ: I see why you needed me. Let me see your plans. I think it could use a little change here... oh, and here... that way you can now execute this more properly and seemlessly. Without getting caught. Next time.
Thank! You! Nathan! These videosbare super awesome and just overall its always a great time watching your videos :)
You sound like " Stewie " from the cartoon family guy .
P s. Accurate content about the personality.
Thank you for sharing.
So accurate Nathan 👍
Just think of Kitty Forman (That ‘70s Show) :p
Thanks.. and OMG .. the user profile and name.. genius!!
.....to think they're the opposite/subconscious of INTPs 🌌
@@dotyliou8236 that is a great idea, but I need about 4 hours a day.😅
Wow, as an INTP, this certainly helped me understand them more.
My father is an ESFJ, I'm an INTP.... rip in peace
Rest in peace in peace? You sure you're an intp? 😉
My dad is istj, my mom is enfj and I’m intfp
Oddly enough I tend mistype ESFJs as ExFPs. I can’t really explain why tho
If you are ENTJ, you are high likely a billionaire😃. If you are not rich, you are estj, haha - esfj.
@@spring7643 isnt Se concerned with he truth more than ni because it searches for the facts and information for it to be updated
Ted Lasso. Great show with a great ESFJ lead
👍 - INFP
have you ever heard of the photosynthesisisi and the plan of the life time and the hussain of the al sugeri and stuff?!

How to Spot an ESFJ within 1 second: SPONGBOB
Well said! I will always think of that now. - INTJ (Plankton, maybe Squidward)
sent this to an esfj and they thanked me. (they don't know they sre esfj)
How can I find one in Houston
Yes 😁❤.
For example, if INFJ is a judging type, why their dom function is perceiving (Ni), not judging (F or T), shouldn’t the type be named INFP?
infp - extraverted perceiving dominant function (Ne)
infj - introverted perceiving dominant function (Ni)
extraverted perceiving function= IP and EP
extraverted decision making function = IJ and EJ
I dont know if this make sense but you can google more on mbti cognitive function
I think I've mistyped an ESFJ as an ESFP. Are there narcissistic ESFJ?
You can find narcissists in every type. 🤔😉
As a esfj I guess I’m allat 🧍🏽
I know, I know, but still Duchess of Cambridge: one can see the Fe so clearly but I can't decide is she still Si dom. Yes she was socially more shy but that has nothing to do with functions. I think she looks like a Fe dom when she speaks with people and everyone comments on the empathy exuding from her. And she is very touched by children's hospice visits. Either way FeSi or SiFe. And I think I can see the effect of more inferior Ti than Ne. Thank you for listening me verbally process here.
Ha, I am the almost without exception. I am the unpopular ESFJ.
I like them
❤
Ah, my least favourite type. I (INTJ) can understand them, but find they never really care to understand me, and so I try to keep my distance. Glad to know they're appreciated somewhere.
Why do ESFJs use incense?
They're the easiest to spot.
What’s not to like about this type? They are pleasant, open-minded, appreciative, sensual, intelligent. They go down easy in my experience. 👍🙂 (ISTP)
They're also overbearing, crowd-pleasing, gossipy, generally intolerant of neurodiversity, more interested in mundane events and protocols than reasons or direction, prone to matyrdom and having a victim complex.
@@Monochromatification, hmmm.
My mom is an ESFJ. I wonder if other INFPs were raised by an ESFJ 🤔
I wish! :p
Cant stand them.
Lol ESFJ is the opposite of my personality INTP
No, they share the same cognitive functions as an INTP, just in the opposite order. Although, ESFJs are least compatible with xNTJs, because they share no cognitive functions.
I'm Intj. My ex was an Esfj with a strong Se. Just imagine toxicity of our non-lasting relationship. I'm still glad that I ditched the bullet
