I did this once for an actual song I was working on, I couldn't find the right snare, I spent literally hours searching for the right sound.. Ended up just making it myself and it couldn't have been better.
The human whistle - the one produced by blowing air through pursed lips (as apposed to through the teeth) creates a nearly perfect sine wave with little to no embedded harmonic frequencies unless it's a "breathy" whistle. When you pitch shift more complex wave forms, the low or high harmonics become more prominent depending on the direction of the shift. A pitch shifted pure sine wave doesn't do this so shifting a whistle down creates a very warm, bass tone with no high frequency overtones. Most male voices unless very carefully controlled, produce almost a saw waveform. When reproduced electronically, especially digitally, this wave form becomes loaded with harmonics that can sound really strange when pitch shifted. Pitch up, sounds like chipmunks, while shifting down can sound like a poorly tuned diesel engine. This is why your whistle made a better bass than your voice.
Two ideas for videos: 1. Create a music track using only sounds from asmr videos 2. Create a music track using only nature sounds, like rain drops, water splashes, bird tweets, rustling of leaves, and also do not change them too much in the track that the sounds become completely unrecognizable. I hope you do this :) Personally I like the second one more, but would love it if you did both.
This was definitely a really unique challenge, you did a really good job with this one. Now make a beat with only white noise. EDIT: I wasn’t expecting this much likes, ;-;
InDieTasten Development I was indeed assuming editing was on the table and filter passes would be used XD otherwise it’d be... Uh... unpleasant to listen to
@@Novacayne-alt Well white noise is just a bunch of overlapping waves and frequencies, from high to low end. You can isolate them and get notes, in the same way that trend of cutting off high and low end off of random samples to make beats became a thing. Simple as! He explains it’s a bit better
as a solo beatboxer I can say that this is quite impressive for a non-beatboxer, especially his creativity, but the best part about this video is how much fun Levi has doing it :)
I did not really expect much, but when I heard the finished peice it was phenomenal! I really did like this peice of music! Keep up this amazing work Levi!
amazingly well done for sounds that came from your own mouth/voice a lot of the time, I was sitting there in awe at what you could do. I don't think that I could ever do that in all of my life.
That genuine laugh you recorded near the start of this would have been amazing! I always have trouble recording myself laughing in general, it’s hard to force, so the fact you got a clip like that is pretty good, and it sounds like it could fit into music pretty well!
*_I’ve actually been dreaming of making really amazing dubstep tracks with only my voice, everyday objects and only like, 5% computer generated sounds. However, you can tell how hard that is with all the processing, mastering and layering._*
The sound at 14:51 reminds me of a type of noise I make all the time, I call it my chitter voice and it actually sounds pretty good, I practice singing with it a lot. Other times it sounds a bit like a small creature playfully growling.
that beat is actually so sick, sounds from a human turn out to be some of the coolest and nicest sounds for music. You really outdone yourself on this one!
Broooo, that's some decent bass. So decent that you could feel my Bluetooth which doesn't have much shakiness, shake a hell of a lot from those noises. This is fuckin cool
