      He was only ever able to play at 70% capacity at the most when he was at his healthiest so if only a few could stop him at 70% a 100% would be a whole different ball game

    As an England fan it pains me to watch what he did to the England team. I remember watching the 1995 semi-final and thinking 'we matched them in that game...except for Lomu'.

      Especially Tony Underwood. During the week before the 1995 RWC Semi-Final, Underwood spouted to anyone who would listen that he was going to show Lomu how to be a wing. My thought was that Underwood was going to find that difficult when lying flat on his face, watching Lomu run away from him.

    He was at the World Cup final in 2015, mingling with fans in one of the bars. Was pleased to be in a photo with him and my son. Sadly he died not long afterwards, probably because his kidney condition was exacerbated by the long flight back to New Zealand.

    • @zaneberge4974
      @zaneberge4974 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah but while he wasn't scoring any tries, he was drawing in all the defence so Cullen and Wilson scored plenty of tries. Barely says anything about his talent. Just suggests South Africa changed their defencive plan to mainly focus on lomu. And there's no proof he did roids. He had a genetic disease. Not a side effect. Slandering a dead man who was arguably the greatest rugby player who helped transform the game is kinda pathetic

    • @davidfeiloakitau8644
      @davidfeiloakitau8644 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He had the kidney issue during high school he just hid it well until he could no longer hide it. Unfortunately it's a common disease for Islanders and many Tongans get it. My dad even died from the same thing, definitely not drug related. So if your going to slander someone at least sight some facts smh.
