I can think of many but they all come under the cheeky category. 😜 My serious hat is thinking "Safe & Secure Locksmith Service" because people seek comfort, safety and trust in a locksmith.
I'm glad I'm not he only one thinking about this as it is a big decision. My wife and I are struggling with this right now. We're trying to open a mobile "shop" and we are stuck on what to call it, which as luck would have it, is the first thing you do and turn it in to the SoS of NC. And I agree that 'Locksmithing' should be in it. Although she doesn't care for it, but would rather have a light hearted "fun" name. Ummm, I'm kind of alright with a "fun" name, but something that allows the public/customers know that I am here for them. To me, the Lock&Key and Safe&Lock are played out, they are direct but lack the "I'm here for you" I'd like to convey to the customer. I've worked for 3-4 shops over the 15yr span and all were titled "lock and key" of some sort. I'd like to stand apart from that. Because, in reality, it was my report with my customers AND my work that kept them coming back to us/me vs the competition. I feel I am a different breed of Locksmith. And I need to let my potential customers know.
In many respects, a simple '[surname] Locks' or '[Surname] Locksmithing' hits a nice mid point and is location independent. The format lends an element of gravitas and trustworthiness without tying you to a specific location or service area. Alternately, 'LPP Locksmithing' or 'LSP Locksmithing' is sufficiently professional to be trustworthy to your customers without inviting undesirable questions but might be viewed as overly modern or corporate for a small shop. In some ways I was lucky that when I set up shop my handle was easily transcribed and transformed into a business name by just adjusting the spelling and appending "locksmithing".
All very true! I do like the thoughts about LPP/ LSP. Don’t think it would be thought of as overly modern, and honestly most people wouldn’t be curious enough to find out what it stands for.

(That's unrealistic & not personalized) * Loid's of Locks * White Hat Wafers * Well Rounded Lock Service (With mirror image of the replay arrow around the image of the lock cylinder's face, indicating openings. And, change part of the circle's color to make a "C") * Tim the Trusted Locksmith * LPP the LLC (Then in parentheses written out "License Locksmith Consultant"... & leave them guessing about the LPP. You could replace consultant with contractor or company) * Save the Locks... smith service * T.C.'s Gots Your Key ... & locks too. I'll stop before giving you a migraine. Good luck. & will wait to see what you decide on.
I'd say IF you are going to incorporate go with a "generic" name so if it doesn't work out or you want to change your goals. You can use your insurance and name banking ETC. HKS Systems= generic...hardware keys safes for locksmithing-,humbuckers, knobs, switches for guitar work...handgun knives swords for another hobby. Then just tack on the specific at end HKS Systems lock & Safe- HKS Systems guitar repair.-HKS Systems Firearm building ETC.
Sometimes people just use their last name then they don't have to get a DBA but I'm in California the State of Proposition 65. You can use your last name then, "Lock & Key". That's what I did but I still got a DBA for a tax ID number. If you're going to deal with safes then use the, "Lock & Safe" bit.
LockPicking Locksmithing 😂 Tim’s Locksmithing, nice and personal does what it says on the tin 👍🏻 I don’t know you need something that personal to you, jackdaw was because at an early age I was breaking into stuff (LEGALLY) from age 2, I’m obsessed with taking things apart and the fact that they are loyal and stay with one partner as they spend a lot of time and Energy rising there young, I liked that. The breaking into things here’s an example, we had a pay per view tv when I was young and my peasants would stay up at night until the time ran out only to come down stairs in a morning to find me watching it with no coins being added 😂 and the time I was 11 slipping my grandmas window after she fell against the only exit with the keys in the back of the lock. So ya that’s how I did it lol
Yeah, "Cop-Lock" might have a good ring to it. But, I imagine that you would seriously restrict your clientele. (As those who don't respect police, Won't give you business)
