RIP mom & dad hope yall are doing well on the other side. It’s alright it’s alright it’s alright 😢

His Voice can not Ever be Copied ..I don't know what God gave him ..but it was special to the highest of talent..his style was so soothing it wasn't even imaginable..
When I first heard this song I was over 45. Now getting closed to eighty and living in a foreign land with a new love and life, wow! Thanks Luther, may your songs continue to inspire new loves and old.

Uwww, just timeless🎶...I remember when I first saw/heard this live,... y'all I thought I was the lady dancer on stage w/Luther!!😅😍 It takes me back to a simpler time. I know those times are gone, but I have my dreams to comfort me in today's chaotic era.
Back there on the stairs behind Luther, holdin his bass guitar is Doc Powell…..MY DADDY taught him everything he knows(his words). RIP Daddy Thomas “TC” Carter🖤🖤🖤
I had the privilege of attending a Luther Vandross concert in Houston Texas. You really can't appreciate the magnitude of his talent unless you have seen him live. Debarge (family) was his opening act and they were also awesome.
GOD’S WILL. The gifted are almost always taken far too soon. A lesson not to take the good in life for granted. There is enough bad in the existence of humanity & of our own doing.
At 4:19 when he says "keep it right there" he's actually telling the studio musicians to hold on to the groove and keep it simples as it should be. He said it while singing and it actually made it to the final take. Marcus Miller was the studio bass player on this one and he told this story in a thomman seminar.
😭😭😭 still touching my heart down inside, reminds me of my mother and siblings, 💔 this was our family song, actually Luther was our favourite.Still touch me October 2022.

till this day luther vandross singing this song puts chills down my spine!!! This mans voice was so powerful and on key with every pitch and note he touched!!!!
I saw Luther many times in concert. I'm so glad I did. His voice is unmatched. When I need my soul soothed, I still play Luther. Talent unrivalled to this day, taken way too soon. Missed deeply. RIP Luther. X
One of my mom favorite song by him I find my self listening to this when I’m thinking about her and I think about her every day so I listen to this song every day R.I.P. MY QUEEN 💔
*”I comment only to keep the current likes of 17, as that is one of my numbers. On the other hand, your comment speaks volumes. Me like it. Straight to da point.”*
I saw him once in the early nineties when he came to South Africa at the Ellis Park stadium,I will never forget that night,I attended his show with my late ex,who passed away last year 😭😭😭,may their souls rest in eternal peace 🙏
Wow! Luther took this song from Karen Carpenter and took it to the highest level and made it his own. Made it the purest platinum and diamond of all time. Luther you were one of a kind and your voice is incomparable. Just the best of the best, RIP sir, you are truly missed. 😢
When my granny passed 9/26/22 I had this song on repeat til this day when it comes on I just reminisce & cry beautiful voice Luther tell my granny I love & miss her granny girl💕
I first heard The Carpenters sing this song but Luther Vandross but Luther takes this number to a stratosphere very few could reach. It maybe my favorite love song of all time.
Richard Lee i used to sing this song to my son when he was a baby.. the carpenters were amazing, and he did an amazing job remaking it...i loveeeee this song, its so beautiful
in the Uk we had a radio show called Dessert Island Discs ......... you could choose 5 tunes to listen to for a lifetime if maroonedWhat would they be ?
Loved this carpenters song and Karen's voice was amazing. But when luther sings this he does it his way and its the luther way which is just class! I always remember reading the booklet to his best off album and dionne warwick had quoted listening to the radio in her car one day and heard a house is not a home which she had sung several times and thought not another cover but obviously luther singing it especially later on when they become friends and he sung it live in front of a load of famous audience she was crying cos how amazing he was! She called him the voice! Look it up on his best of luther album that came out in 89.
play it easy, play it easy....keep it right there, keep it right there, keep it right there....yeah, yeah, yeah....when are you going to say, it's alright? love it.
I absolutely love this live version of this beautiful song, only THE MASTER can pull this off so eloquently!Pure class, gets me time and time again, give me the chills, bring tears to my eyes, love and joy to my heart.RIP Luther,Simply the best FOREVER.
I was beyond honoured to see him in Toronto 3 times. I truly think there will never ever be another voice so truly perfect as Luther’s. His voice, his smile, his love for performing was everything.
Luther took his time with this.. mesmerizing!
Once in a Lifetime Talent. You couldn't whip Cream any smoother.. Such control.
PREACH king, preach.

One of the reasons this is my favourite songs of his is the emotional honesty. He is singing about loving someone and now being lonely. A universal feeling sung by a man with an exquisitely gifted unique voice and talent the likes of which rarely appears.
Right on!!!
That's what I'm in to and deciding to quit this long distance relationship.
Well that;s society's and the people who were close to him faults, if they would have allowed him to be who he was and not put the fear of being judged into him he could have lived a happy and fulfilled life.
This is a classic. dedicated to my Holly. ¥ always & forever
Actually, I felt he sang this song with barely any real emotion. Listen to the original from Karen Carpenter if you're looking for emotion.
Those people in that concert don't realise how lucky they were!! Would so love to be able to be there!!
I saw luther twice at Wembley arena, I know how lucky I was
Wish Luther was still here with us
So we could see him life
Saw him in Wembley, was only 19 years old but still feel like it was yesterday 😍❤️👏❤️🙏
I think they knew lol
I saw him at Wembley... Greatess voice live I've ever seen. Seen Jackson twice, Joni Mitchell, Stapleton, Levi Stubbs, Wonder, Anita Baker, Celine, Streisand. The only one near him was Matt Monro.

Uwww, just timeless🎶...I remember when I first saw/heard this live,... y'all I thought I was the lady dancer on stage w/Luther!!😅😍 It takes me back to a simpler time. I know those times are gone, but I have my dreams to comfort me in today's chaotic era.
This man could sing the yellow pages and couples everywhere still be creating new lives to it. A rare rare talent unmatched in our time.
A saw him in st Louis mo, back inte 80s

RIP Daddy Thomas “TC” Carter🖤🖤🖤
Luther can never ever be replaced. He is one of a kind. You can feel this song going all through the depth of your soul !!!
Give Luther his flowers 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I will never forget seeing him live in concert I am so blessed to see one of the best voices that ever lived Miss Him So Much RIP
I had the privilege of attending a Luther Vandross concert in Houston Texas. You really can't appreciate the magnitude of his talent unless you have seen him live. Debarge (family) was his opening act and they were also awesome.
I saw him twice..I was so lucky
Never another like him
Luther a music legend
One of the most Superb Vocalists of the Twentieth Century!!! He is truly at the Gate of Heaven Welcoming ALL SOULS!!!
When Luther asked God what his purpose is, God responded, "Sing Luther Sing!"

One man that can hold an entire crowd in his eyes as he swoons and sings “ooooo baby”. 2021 and who’s still here?
I'm here 2021
I just found out this is a cover of the carpenters, and a house is not a home is a cover Dionne Warrick. I like Luther's versions better though lol.

@@oluwatos1n Me too! #2021
I'm listening this is my favorite song by him
Why you leave us so soon Luther? There will truly never be another.
GOD’S WILL. The gifted are almost always taken far too soon. A lesson not to take the good in life for granted. There is enough bad in the existence of humanity & of our own doing.
What a beautiful voice that man had.
Just angelic.
At 4:19 when he says "keep it right there" he's actually telling the studio musicians to hold on to the groove and keep it simples as it should be. He said it while singing and it actually made it to the final take.
Marcus Miller was the studio bass player on this one and he told this story in a thomman seminar.
Reading your comment and hearing him "Play it easy, keep it right there..." That makes so much sense...
❤
😭😭😭 still touching my heart down inside, reminds me of my mother and siblings, 💔 this was our family song, actually Luther was our favourite.Still touch me October 2022.

till this day luther vandross singing this song puts chills down my spine!!! This mans voice was so powerful and on key with every pitch and note he touched!!!!
I wish he could’ve found the love he was looking for. Such a beautiful soul.
Special dude here rest up legend
The honesty in his eyes is what I love most about this performance. There is the pain and anguish of love but no regret in this rendition.
When he says "it's alright" it's feels like and angel is huggin me❤❤❤
I saw Luther many times in concert. I'm so glad I did. His voice is unmatched. When I need my soul soothed, I still play Luther. Talent unrivalled to this day, taken way too soon. Missed deeply. RIP Luther. X
Lord his music is unmatched ❤
One of my mom favorite song by him I find my self listening to this when I’m thinking about her and I think about her every day so I listen to this song every day R.I.P. MY QUEEN 💔

Yes, this is my birthday 🎉🎉and you got the right idea.
Every time I listen to this song I cry 😢 is like I have in front of me the only person I ever loved❤😢😢
That lovely young lady dancing just captures the essence of that VOCAL Angel singing
I was so lucky to see him twice in the 80’s and once in the 90’s. He was amazing! So special!!!
I saw him in New Orleans early 2000's. Best concert ever!
Death will never win I'm still listening to Luther
When my granny passed 9/26/22 I had this song on repeat til this day when it comes on I just reminisce & cry beautiful voice Luther tell my granny I love & miss her granny girl💕
I first heard The Carpenters sing this song but Luther Vandross but Luther takes this number to a stratosphere very few could reach. It maybe my favorite love song of all time.
Richard Lee
i used to sing this song to my son when he was a baby..
the carpenters were amazing, and he did an amazing job remaking it...i loveeeee this song, its so beautiful
I hear ya Lupe, I have to hear this song at least once a week, some times more. Thanks Lupe you can holler anytime.
a week is never complete without Luther, he's my calm after any storm
in the Uk we had a radio show called Dessert Island Discs ......... you could choose 5 tunes to listen to for a lifetime if maroonedWhat would they be ?
Loved this carpenters song and Karen's voice was amazing. But when luther sings this he does it his way and its the luther way which is just class! I always remember reading the booklet to his best off album and dionne warwick had quoted listening to the radio in her car one day and heard a house is not a home which she had sung several times and thought not another cover but obviously luther singing it especially later on when they become friends and he sung it live in front of a load of famous audience she was crying cos how amazing he was! She called him the voice! Look it up on his best of luther album that came out in 89.
play it easy, play it easy....keep it right there, keep it right there, keep it right there....yeah, yeah, yeah....when are you going to say, it's alright? love it.
for me that's the most difficult part of the song he goes over the top and just makes a complete beautiful mess of everything.
Stades Roofing That's my Uncle Johnnie favorite part 😀
I will never stop loving that part especially when he did it in London my God!!!
Stades Roofing RIGHT
Tracy Pettis I knew that part before I knew one other word😂
I absolutely love this live version of this beautiful song, only THE MASTER can pull this off so eloquently!Pure class, gets me time and time again, give me the chills, bring tears to my eyes, love and joy to my heart.RIP Luther,Simply the best FOREVER.
This should be called masterpiece
It's not live. This is the recorded version that appeared on the album.

How Luther sings and it sounds exactly like his studio records! I dunno man no1 could really measure up to this mans vocals! Was just so effortless
This is the studio version. It's not live.
I was beyond honoured to see him in Toronto 3 times. I truly think there will never ever be another voice so truly perfect as Luther’s. His voice, his smile, his love for performing was everything.
