Lyrics:
I wanna tell you, baby
The changes I've been goin' through
Missin' you, missin' you, oh...oh...
Till you come back to me
I don't know what I'm gonna do
N-n-n-no, n-n-no
Don't you remember you told me you loved me, baby
You said you'd be comin' back this way again, baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, oh, baby
I love you
Yeah...I really do
Luther Vandross was a musical master whose style has influenced an entire generation of today's vocalists. His distinctive brand of satin smooth vocal magic moved international audiences and continues to touch people to this day. For almost 25 years, from 1981 to 2005, Luther Vandross dominated the American R&B music charts like no other artist before or since. In that span he released eight #1 R&B albums, seven #1 R&B singles and another five Top 20 R&B singles. He achieved crossover status with eight Billboard Top 10 albums, including reaching #1 with 2003's Dance With My Father; and another five Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 singles. - เพลง

Make no mistake. There will never be another Luther. And this generation actually thinks what they’re listening to is real music.
So agree I have 6:50 on repeat right now as we speak. I go back to a Lil girl. I just turned 42 in May. To when I had his 45" and my daddy was a known gospel singer. He bought this album and said I can sing better than Luther. Tbh he almost did. But I will always have my dads voice singing as this song plays. Sorry I told a life story lol 😂😥😥

No need for the hate. There’s still some great artist out. They may not be main stream and top 50 on billboards

This song makes me happy and sad because Luther is no longer here 😢
This is one of the most beautiful songs in the history of music. I started listening to this man in 1983 at the age of 10. I am 50 now, and this is still the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. ❤
The whole arrangement is beyond amazing….i just close my eyes and can hear so clear! One of my aunts favorite song…. Good music never goes out of style
God I dedicate this to you for giving your only begotten Son Jesus to us! I DECLARE YOU KING OF KINGS & LORD OF LORDS! Please have mercy on us your selfish creations! Especially the Afro-American youth that's caught up in genocide🙏🏽
Amen
And thank you, Jesus, for simultaneously lifting the devilish vail of DECEPTION laid on humanity in these last days of LUCI's FAILING ATTEMPTS at dominion over YOUR creation, guiding us, to follow YOUR footsteps TO FREENESS, and eternal life. Amen.

Chills.......fucking CHILLS. To this very day.....32 years after it's release.......Luther's rendition of "Superstar" STILL pushes my emotional buttons. The song is simply a work of art......created by one of the greatest male vocalists of our generation. I do NOT have the words to properly express how much I truly admire & miss the talent of Luther Vandross, and the impact he has had on the lives of my wife & myself. Love you, Luther.
this song bring me to tears EACH and EVERY time I hear it. takes you on a complete emotional roller coaster.
i couldnt of said it any better....this song really waters up my eyes

So yesterday I was watching Family Feud with a black family and a white family. The question was “name an artist who’s music a lot of babies were probably made to.” Ok, the black family said “Usher and R. Kelly” needless to say neither of those answers were there (even though you could make an argument for R); the white family said “Barry White, Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross & Marvin Gaye”! Now the crime here is neither Luther nor Teddy were on the board!!! Whaaaat…..with songs like this if someone or something doesn’t come to mind you really need to reinvest in your love life…

Damn, this song! I was listening to Karen Carpenter’s Superstar so, I had to follow up with Luther. 2020 has been a very difficult year to a lot of people. I don’t want to be 50 yrs old right now. I want to be that 13 year old innocent little boy in his momma’s house, in Bridgeport, CT listening to 98.7 💋 kiss fm Night Beat with Yvonne Mobley. Just daydreaming about being a grownup and having a girlfriend. You get sad when you think about all your loved ones that have passed away over the years. Elite voices to be sure, but for elite and quintessentially unique, check out Karen Carpenter's version of this same song. Her voice and delivery, practically otherworldly.
Fr 🎉😮
@@johnboehmer6683 far be it from me to ever say this but Luther IMABHO actually does sing it slightly better. But could you imagine them both singing it?!
@@williethomas9953
I'll say this much, I like the arrangement and tempo of Luther's version better...
I can't imagine the song working as a duet by any 2 singers though. It's a song about heartbreak and rejection, you know?
Both are extraordinarily talented, but the song just fits Karen Carpenter like a glove. Her voice, and melancholy delivery is just made for songs like this, and dare I say even her persona?
Luther's version in the end has a more beautiful feel to it, Karen exudes the pain the song conveys sharper (though the arrangement of her version's chorus throws that off with the almost happy sounding brass section). Which version did you first? Oftentimes this determines which one we prefer...
I admire the transition of this song especially when breaking up with someone, thinking that you need them then after awhile you realize you’re better off without them and it will be alright. Like a happy ever after feeling 😊
To me, this is the greatest love song of all time ❤️❤️

This song reminds me of my dad passing away in 1994 couple months after he turned 53yrs old. I never got to know much about him or well enough before he passed. When he was sober, he was a nice guy. He preferred to spend his free time drinking with his friends as opposed to being with his wife and kids. After he passed, I started finding out bits of the truth and reasons he did and behaved that way. My mom would use us kids to turn us against him, that kept pushing him to be with his friends instead. When I left to college, my mom never told me he was terminally sick and had less than 3 months to live, or that his family in Puerto Rico came to NY to take him back home. My dad and his relatives wanted to contact me from Puerto Rico to tell me what's going on and my mom refused to give them my address or phone number. He passed away in 1994 and my mom didn't tell me about it, this way none of his kids would show up to his funeral. I'd ask her about him and she'd lie "he's hanging out drinking with his friends like always"! When in reality he had passed away months/years already. As I got older and into my 40s, I recruited help from people in Puerto Rico to help me search and find my dad's family who I met once in 1983. Reconnected with his relatives and started finding out he had many hardships/obstacles in life to overcome and having a wife & kids at home that didn't like him was too much to handle. Several truths pointed to my mom as the bad person in the relationship, playing the victim role. I was 23 when he passed away at 53 and I wish I had a chance to get to know him, sit at a restaurant to have a meal with him, go hangout like other dads do with their kids, help him better his quality of life instead of drinking it to death.
This happened to my ex-husband except for his ex his son's mother had put witchcraft on him and he used to drink all the time and never could really catch a clutch on life and she played victim role and acted like he was such an alcoholic and told my daughter the same thing and then lied to my daughter and turn my daughter against me and now my daughter deals with her and not me and my daughter doesn't realize she killed her father I just pray that she realizes this is my daughter is only 23 years old and then my mother turned around and turned her against me because I told my mother that I wanted to help my husband stop drinking and my mother didn't like it she wanted to control me so now she turned my 23-year-old daughter against me so this song just really reminds me of my daughter I love her I pray that she comes back to me soon with wisdom and understanding about these people that have manipulated her especially her own grandmother blessings to your story and you and your family as well thank you for blessing me and allowing me to share❤❤❤❤
